My family and I had a great vacation week at this house on Shelter Island. First of all the owner was consistently quick to respond to all sorts of questions and provided detailed information. Second, the house itself is lovely and beautifully furnished with very comfortable things that I would be happy to have in my own home. Third, the yard is big and great for playing in. The yard and pool are both well cared for and the house is very clean. All the things that are needed for a week or longer vacation were in place. The location is very quiet...no trouble sleeping. I would not hesitate to recommend this to any family with or without children. Walking or biking along the road is easy. As with most places on Shelter Island, it's necessary to have a car to get around. The beaches are easy to get to with a car though biking is also a possibility.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
