Our family log cabin is located on the spring fed 28 acre Quill Lake in Lakewood, WI. It is located approximately one hour and fifteen minutes northwest of Green Bay.
The authentic 60 year old restored rustic log cabin is located on a truly magical 5.5 wooded acres and offers complete privacy with no neighbors in view when you are relaxing on the porch, at the fire pit or on the dock.
There are only three homes located on the lake and the other half of the lake land is owned by the Nicolet National Forest. There is an ice cold shallow spring for you to explore on the other side of the lake.
This retreat is a very comfortable place to enjoy the Nicolet National Forest and its wooded beauty.
The covered front porch has a picnic table with bench seating and stunning views of the lake and wooded forest. The forest is loaded with birch, pine and maple trees.
THE ACCOMMODATIONS
The 900 square foot log cabin features an open great room with vaulted ceilings and maple flooring in the vaulted bedroom.
Accommodations include one bedroom, one bath, fully equipped euro style kitchen with washer & dryer and a dining/living great room. There is sleeping for four people with a maximum occupancy of five people. The bedroom is very spacious and contains a king size bed, twin bunk beds, and a full size futon sofa bed.
During the day, lounge on the hammock, swim in the lake or fish. The lake is stocked with large mouth bass, rock bass, perch, pike, blue gill, and other sunfish. At night, enjoy a campfire in the fire pit and make tasty s'mores!
This beautiful clear spring fed lake has no public access for boats with motors, but our rental does include a 12 foot aluminum row boat and a 5-passenger paddle boat. We also have a 2 person kayak available for rent to use on our lake or to use to explore other lakes.
No boats with motors are allowed on lakes that are 50 acres or less in the Lakewood area, but there are plenty of larger lakes in the area where you can launch your boat. If you would like to bring your motorized boat, we have a map of the lakes in the area with the boat launches.
We also have an activity book listing all the restaurants, shopping and fun activities to do in the area. The Cathedral Forest and the Mountain Fire Lookout Tower are a must see.
~In the spring, summer, and fall, the area has good fishing, biking, and hiking!
~Great snowmobile & cross country ski trails during the winter and ice skating on our lake! We even build a luge hill for sledding every winter.

Why the Owner Chose Lakewood
We have been vacationing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin for many years and love it. We always said we wanted to find a vacation home that was very unique and out of the ordinary.
When we pulled onto the 1/4 mile long driveway in the woods, we said, "This is it!" and we hadn't even seen the log cabin yet. The cabin was such a mess, but we didn't care. It felt like home. It took us over 6 months to restore the log cabin to its true beauty. Now we never want to leave!
Since the property is so special, we thought we should share it. We have such a fabulous repeat clientele, who also feels the same as we do about the place, that it only leaves a few weeks open for new vacationers. We do rent year round, but for only a total 6 weeks per year.
Hope you come for a visit! Deana & Alan, Grant & Alena
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
It is so relaxing to just hang out on the lake or to sit by the fire in the adirondack chairs. There is no motor traffic on the lake so you'll see loons, eagles, ducks, otters and the fish just swimming around in the crystal clear water. There are also deers and wild turkeys in the area.
There are also some of the most fabulous and challenging single track bike trails in the Midwest close by. In the winter, the cross country ski trails have been rated as some of the best trails in the U.S.
The Cathedral Forest, which is also in Lakewood, is so beautiful. And if you're not scared of heights, the Mountian Lookout Tower is also amazing.

My husband and I stumbled upon this listing and ultimately decided to spend our honeymoon here. The cabin was perfectly maintained/clean and the lake was beautiful and trainquil! The owner was immediately responsive to all of our inquiries and questions and even surprised us with a bottle of champagne when we arrived. Although the cabin was perfect for romance, with the amenities provided, it would also be perfect for kids of all ages. It has been a year since we stayed, and we both still talk about how fortunate we were to have found this place!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
