This island character home sits nestled in the forest, just a hop and skip away from the sandstone beaches that Galiano Island is so famous for.
Saunter 5 minutes on the forest trail and the endless, gentle and smooth sandstone shore-line beckons with hours of exploring. Discover the tidal pools rich with sea creatures or walk for hours on the sinuous rocks. Or just hang out, enjoy the breathtaking view of the North Shore Mountains and go for a swim.
This hand hewn home is filled with light, soaring ceilings and quality finishing throughout. The wood floors are milled from the trees on the property and inventive use of materials are evident everywhere (teak kitchen, church front door, driftwood railings, slate etc.). The sun filled deck is huge (over 1000 sq. ft) and has a hammock, out door seating and a gas barbecue.
Lots of space for you to lounge and for children to play. You’ll find this a charming, comfortable house to share with your family. This house is set up for children and the easy walk to the shore line makes accessing the ocean a breeze and you are just a few minutes away by car from the island’s amenities.
Family games like cards and scrabble are provided as well as general toys like Lego and outside toys (age 3-10 yrs). The forest is your back yard, so it is quiet and private.
Two resident outdoor cats roam the property (they are dog friendly. Pets are welcome, providing they are house trained, on an anti-flea program and are never left in the house alone. When expressing interest in property please indicate what pets you wish to bring.
Weekly bookings run from the Sunday morning ferry from Tsawwassen, until the last ferry out to Tsawassen on Saturday evening. Guests coming from Swarts Bay can expect similar check in and check out times.
