  What a wonderful stay! The ladies of Rock Haven Church had a very relaxing and reenergizing time. The house was extremely clean and freshly remodeled. The bathrooms had new showers and were very nice. The owner called twice to make sure we had everything we needed, and just to check if he could help out in any way...talk about customer service!!! The hot tub was a big hit! The house was very peaceful with lots of room to spread out. The access to the beach makes it feel like you are out there with just the dolphins, that we watched play every morning! There is no other house obstructing the view, and what a view it is! We have already put our deposit down for next year for both sides! You seriously need to rent this house, and come experience the ocean joy for yourself!

  I stayed here about 5 years prior for a family gathering and this was a great place then because it was such a good bargain for being right smack dab on the best part of Emerald Isle... It wasn't all that pretty then but the best bargain for the location and everything that you needed or wanted for a relaxing week at the beach. Then we came back last June and oh my, what a pleasant surprise... still one of the best bargains on the beach but now it's really cute and nicely decorated! Someone put a lot of attention into this "extremem makeover" from what used to be an 80's basic to now a cute beach cottage (if you can call this much space a "cottage"). My family plans a Carolina family reunion and beach escape like this every few years and we'll definitely be looking this one up again! We've had many great memories here.

  Every year since I was a kid we've gone to some Carolina Beach. My first time to Emerald Isle and it was great! The house was great & half the price of a comparable place we stayed at in Atlantic Beach last year. The beach is fantastic & uncrowded. The place was very clean, well maintained & lots of everything for our big family group. Lots to do in the area. The prices are so low in the off season & my girl friend liked the house so well, we are coming back in October for a romantic week instead of a beach front hotel somewhere else.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  What a wonderful beach and house! The house was terrific and a great bargain compared to other places we've stayed in Emerald Isle. It was very clean. The set up is great. Fantastic views of the beach & surf through large picture windows and glass doors. The furniture is lovely designer quality furniture. The kitchen has everything. Lots of great restaurants close by. We've already reserved for next year.

  This place has so much potential. We stayed a week in the West side of the duplex. Initial impressions were not too good, but we could tell the owners have been working to fix up the property. A little bit if cleaning made the place much more livable. The bathroom on the first floor was recently renovated and it was great to have a full bath and bedroom for the mother-in-law on the main floor. The second floor provided three bedrooms and plenty of space for a large family, including two roll-aways and plenty of linens for all. The master bedroom is decorated with a massive King bed and really neat furniture and you have your own private balcony with an ocean view. The main living area was large enough for a family of 6-8 to spread out and watch the big screen TV or any of the others located in every bedroom. The kitchen could have been a little more organized and the dishwasher needs to be replaced, it no longer gets the dishes clean. On the basement level you will find your own (not shared) hot tub, washer and dryer, a supply of left behind beach toys and a place to sit and relax. I would have felt much safer with working Fire/Smoke detectors and an emergency egress from the second floor in case of fire. Overall we had a great week at beautiful Emerald Isle! Don't rent this home looking for 5 stars, you will be disappointed, but for the very reasonable rates offered by the owners you can have a good week.

  Our stay was outstanding. We were very impressed on how clean and neat it was. The furnishings were much more than we expected, the pictures do not do it justice. A perfect getaway for romance. We plan on coming back and will recommend to family and friends.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

  We had an excellent time! Took our twin daughters and about 8 of their friends to a 18th birthday celebration! Location was out of this world we saw dolphins and even horse back riders on the beach. Late night walks to go crab hunting was a blast. Owner even called us on Saturday to make sure everything was in order and to see if there was anything we needed! This was very surprising. The house was nicely funished and plenty of room for all to sleep comfortable. Even with 10 teenagers having a good time late at night and into the morning the house is so well built we never heard them upstairs. So many things around town for the teens to do even in late April! Everything was clean, bedding, towels, furnishings, etc! Our only suggestion is for the shower heads to be replaced hard to get shampoo out of long hair with the ones in showers at this time. I would definitely recommend this property to others! And I'm definitely booking again!!!!

  The beach and location were great. The house needed work. The bathrooms and showers were gross, you needed to wear flipflops in the showers. There were ants in the kitchen, in the bathrooms and even in the master bedroom. The dishwasher did not clean. There was never enough drinking glasses. There was a problem with the septic/sewer on the half of the duplex and there was a foul odor when you would go outside by the cars. Would definitely go back to Emerald Isle, but not this house.

  This house is a great place for a stay at the beach for extended family, family reunion or large group, or for a romantic getaway. The duplexes have an interior connecting door which is great. There are two BRs on main floor with living, dining, kitchen & deck which was great for grandma who has trouble with stairs. The master BRs are large & absolutely great with an out of this world view of the beach & ocean and a private deck. (I'm bringing my girl friend back for a romantic stay this fall.) The place was clean. It was well equipped for cooking, meals, etc. for everyone. The furniture was several notches above any other beach house I've ever been to. There was plenty of good deck furniture. There are two washers & 2 dryers. Some of our group absolutely loved the hot tubs. Everybody wants to come back here next year.

  We had a wonderful stay. The beach was beautiful. Loved sitting on the end of the deck in the evening. Beds were very comfortable. Weather was great. Enjoyed the hot tubs.
