After over 20 VRBO rentals in the past 3 years throughout the world, this was one of our favorites. The place actually was ridiculously huge for the two of us and 4 people would have been equally impressed with the space. The kitchen is amazing, and well stocked with everything you need, living space very comfortable and the views from everywhere in the house are perfect. Great location with only a 5 minute drive into Taos Plaze (which I am not a big fan of honestly with all its tacky touristy stuff) but lots of great wandering outside of the Plaza and very handy for hikes in the area. Couple of food recommendations - Eskes Brew Pub is small simple and perfect - we used to live in NM in the late 90s near Ojo Caliente and whenever we went to the Taos area to hike we had to stop in at Eskes for a beer or two and the Fatty (trust me on this one!), 5 Star Burgers was also outstanding but most of the time we dined in with the amazing kitchen provided. Great spot!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at Querencia Guest House for spring break. The place is beyond words! We were very comfortable. The baths were 'spa like', the beds comfortable, the fireplace toasty, the hot tube was gread underneath the beautiful stars at night. It was very private and beautiful. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything we needed. The grocery store was close by where we pick up snacks and beverages. The kids snow boarded at Taos Ski Valley and we all went snowmobiling. We also went shopping and went to numerous galleries. It was nice to come home to this great place and relax. We all had room to have private time reading and relaxing. We will be back! Thank you so very much!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a fantastic property with an unbeatable setting. You are so close to town, centrally located for just about anything you might want to do in Taos, but you still feel blissfully "away from it all". Hard to decide which was better, the views from the house, or the house itself. We stayed in the owner's suite and it was decorated SO beautifully! Awesome views from every room. Loved all the patios and especially the one up top on the roof. The house was just immaculate; the owner's have truly thought of everything!! Querencia exceeded our expectations and we would love to return again one day.Owner response: I've moved this to the Owner's Retreat #371193, to avoid confusion, since another guest who stayed here on the 10th has posted, as well. So glad you had a great time, Lara! thanks, Shannon

We chose Querencia Taos based on reviews here, and were pleased to discover the superlatives were completely justified. It is the warmest, most welcoming and user-friendly home imaginable. The kitchen/dining area is well-designed and well-stocked, the living room stylish without being snobby and the bedrooms cozy and comfortable as can be. The raves reviewers have given the master bath are on the mark, and yet still don't quite capture what an eye-popper this room is. Stunning! Only the views of Taos Mountain were more impressive. Although we did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners personally, the excellent caretakers were responsive to all our needs and the housekeeper maintained the home in pristine condition. Although we'd selected Querencia Taos for its pet-friendly policy, we left our dogs at home; however, it's a great property for furry friends thanks to the concrete flooring and walking trails. We appreciated the bottles of wine and our 14-year old son was especially grateful for free internet access. October proved to be a perfect time to visit Taos; the weather was mild, the tourist crowds light, and the fall colors glorious. We would highly recommend the Enchanted Circle drive, Taos Gorge, the church in Ranchos de Taos and day trips to Santa Fe. Great food and ambiance can be found at Doc Martin's and the Taos Diner (per owners' recommendation) as well as at Graham's. There is a local casino, but it pales next to those in and around ABQ and Santa Fe. Thanks again to Shannon, Quest and staff for the most serene accommodations; we would love to visit again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I can't begin to describe what a wonderful experience our stay at Querencia was. Shannon's attention to detail is nothing short of amazing. The Querencia is opulent, yet so comfortable. The views are amazing, and the location is just perfect. We would go back in a heartbeat! Don't stay anwhere else but the Querencia!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I have stayed at other rental properties in the Taos area but nothing compares to my experience at Querencia Taos. The accommodations were absolutely gorgeous. The view magnificent. I had everything I could want. Since I was traveling on a painting trip, well all I had to do was step outside the door for awesome scenery to paint.....and that's exactly what I did every day. I had my own moving slide show of those gorgeous mountains. The owners were very accommodating. The caretaker was very helpful and friendly. The bottle of wine was a wonderful welcome gift. Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the mountains, well it does not get any better than that experience. The surrounding area has so much to offer. You definitely will want to stay here. I loved everything about Querencia Taos.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We arrived at the guest house after dark and felt welcome from the start. We found the fireplace lit, two complimentary bottles of wine and some basics in the fridge. We awakened the following morning to the breathtaking view of the mountains and property that is visible from almost every room. We met Mary Beth and found all kinds of helpful information to activities, businesses and restaurants nearby with excellent directions. We visited the Rio Grande Gorge, the Kit Carson National Forest up over the Colorado border and the Wild Waters area as well. My wife referred to the place as her HG-TV house. We can understand why your guests want to return for another visit. Add us to the list of those that plan to return. Ray and Roe DennisDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

The master tub was a great romantic get away. The kitchen had everything you needed for preparing your own meals. The owners Quest and Shannon were terrific. They helped out in any area needed. Our family truly enjoyed our time at this beautiful home. The owners and caretaker have thought of everything and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. I mean, really -- there is a complimentary locker at the ski valley, a membership card for the local grocery and a couple of bottles of wine waiting when you walk in the door. These folks know a thing or two about hospitality!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Such a wonderful property. I was debating to give a review because I wanted to be a bit selfish and keep this place a secret. This property is not just a place to stay, its life changing and opens your eyes to the peace and beauty Taos has to offer. My background is Interior Design, and this had a Spanish/Italian/Country feel. Everything was so CLEAN and new. The owners of this property built it with their own hands, and you can tell the love and dedication that went into it. The art work has been collected by the owners and seemed like the walls were built just so the artwork had the perfect place to be viewed. Even the towels were rolled in a way that you felt like you were at a 5 star resort. Mary Beth is the property manager who lives on sight and was very welcoming and met our needs. She has a BEAUTIFUL sweet dog named Roxie, and she stole our hearts. The hot tub was so soothing. We had the most breathtaking views of the mountains during the day, and at night it seemed like it was raining stars. We are already planning another trip back for the summer so we can do white water rafting, horseback riding, and hot air ballooning. 5 minutes to the grocery stores and all the FABULOUS shopping and restaurants. 20 minute drive to the ski slopes. I know you are going to enjoy Querencia like we did.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I visited Querencia Taos in August 08 and had a great visit. The property is in a great location, wonderful views and close driving distance to the center and to a lot of attractions. It is clean and well maintained and we felt very welcomed. My children enjoyed horse back riding in the sky valley where the scenery is just breathtaking. We would definitely recommend this beautiful place.Recommended for: Families with teenagers

Querencia Taos is a stunning, enchanting retreat in a perfect location. The setting is captivating. You can pamper yourself in the hot tub while sipping champagne and enjoying the magnificent views. The Guest House has two bedrooms and two baths and contemporary kitchen. It is beautifully decorated and complete with a cozy fireplace and heated floors. It is both luxurious and private. There is even a live-in caretaker. Departing from this memorable, impressive haven was anything but easy. We look forward to our next visit to this magical hideaway.Did you find this review helpful? Tranquillity and serenity personifies this rental and it's location. The amenities are superb but not overdone, you feel like "you belong". You're isolated from the crowd but still only minutes away from everything. Can't wait to go back, this is a "keeper". Did I mention the sunsets?Did you find this review helpful?
