Incredible, big, immaculate house, 5 min walk to beautiful almost remote beach, great restaurants, yoga studio, massage, all within a minutes walk. Exceeded our expectations!

Wonderful Home in Playa Grande Costa Rica

Our family just returned from staying at this home in Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. We had a wonderful trip and the home was extremely comfortable and close to the beach, restaurants, and even surf shops. The veranda was great, relaxing sitting outside after a day exploring the area. The rooms are very comfortable, with a wonderful great room and full kitchen. The beaches are varied, the one at Playa Grande is broad with nice waves. Ask the locals on other great beaches such as Pirata, Danta, etc. There are 2 local surf shops with rental equipment and tips. There are restaurants within walking distance and a very small store for some supplies. We would definitely stay at this home again.

This is a lovely home in agreat location away from it all. It has everything you need and is close to the beach and the National Park Office to organise turtle watching. The owner was very responsive and flexible to our needs. Highly recommended for families or groups wanting a special place to stay. Thanks

My wife and I traveled to Costa Rica with our 9 month old baby boy for a month (April 15, 2012 until May 15, 2012). We picked this property after emailing back and forth with Dana. She was super responsive and so easy to work with. She took the time to send us very helpful packing lists as well as details about the area. Bruce picked us up from the airport and showed us around town and filled us in on all the good places to visit and places to eat. Both Bruce and Dana (propery owners) were extremely accomodating during the entire stay. They let us borrow a bunch of their personal baby gear so that we did not have to pack and lug our own stuff in our baggage. The apartment and grounds are very well-maintained. Bruce works hard at making sure everything is up-to-date and working properly. We had a very comfortable stay for our entire month in one of the 2 bedroom apartments. Cold AC, comfortable beds, hot showers, and a ktichen to do our own cooking. We had everything we needed and more! The property is so versatile that really anyone can feel at home here. Good for families or even people traveling alone. Very nice accomodations by American standards. Plenty of beautiful flora and landscaping on the property. A truly tranquil and perfect setting with the sound of the ocean as you sit on the front porch each day. We really can't say enough of how great a place this is and we will definitely be returning as soon as we possibly can! This property has everything you need and was a fraction of the cost that other vacation rentals quoted us. We were able to stay for a month at the price that would only have gotten us 1 week somewhere else. You really cannot beat it. Beach is an easy walk at a couple hundred yards away at most. Surfing here was a blast and the beach is so open, beautiful, and clean. Community is so relaxed and laid back, much better than the over-populated and busy Tamarindo (great to visit but Playa Grande is the place to stay!). We were able to walk almsot everywhere we needed for the first few weeks. We rented bikes from a closeby surf shop for a week or so and rented a car near the end just to explore some farther away beaches and hot spots. You can definitely get by without a car if you wanted to. Thanks so much Bruce and Dana (and your precious little boys, Charlie and Michael)! Can't wait to return!

I loved staying at Apartamentos Veraneras and highly recommend everyone to stay there!! Bruce and Dana were very nice and helpful and made us feel right at home. The apartment is in a great location where you can walk to everything including the lovely Playa Grande beach and all the restaurants in the area. The maid service was great and the apartment was perfect. I loved staying the month there and would love to even rent the apartment for long term. It was also a great price compared to other rentals in the area and even much nicer than most. I highly recommend staying with Bruce and Dana :)

Quiet and Relaxing

This was our third vacation in Costa Rica and second to Playa Grande. The apartment was clean and quiet. Dana and Bruce are very nice and helpful. The beach is only 5 minutes away on foot and Playa Grande Inn has the best brick oven pizza. I highly recommend staying at Veranera.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

THIS WAS MY SECOND STAY. ONCE IN A 2BR UNIT AND THIS TIME IN A 1BR. BOTH HAD FULL KITCHENS. THEY HAVE A SAFE FOR STUFF IN BEDROOMS. THERE IS WIRELESS INTERNET. THEY ALL HAVE COVERED PORCHES SO, IF IT RAINS YOU CAN WATCH FROM OUTSIDE AND STAY DRY. THE HOSTS, BRUCE & DANA ARE VERY EASY GOING AND HELPFULL WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE. YOU WILL BE WALKING,SWIMMING OR SURFING ON THE BEACH WITHIN A 3 MINUTE WALK. IN THE EVENINGS YOU CAN BE GUIDED ON THE BEACH TO SEE THE LARGE LEATHERBACK TURTLE BURY ITS EGGS IN THE SAND (OCT-MARCH). PLAYA GRANDE IS A SMALL TOWN AND YOU CAN WALK TO MOST RESTURANTS AND BARS. IF YOU LIKE THE PARTY NIGHTLIFE IT'S A SHORT DRIVE AWAY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE SO E-MAIL BRUCE & DANA, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

My husband and I spent our first month in Costa Rica at this lovely little hideaway. The 1 bedroom unit had a great veranda with treetop views, a cozy interior sitting area/kitchen, nice tiled bath and came fully stocked with basic necessities. Owners live adjacent and keep the property well maintained, and are very accommodating. Maid service weekly was nice. Good location walking distance to beach and the few other restaurants and hotels in area. We didn't have a car, and managed well without one because we like to walk, but would probably recommend one for most folks, as even local bus service is sporadic. Great quiet safe neighborhood with beautiful beach. Great surfer destination.

"My own private beach paradise"

The apartment, the beach, the tropical surroundings were even more beautiful than the pictures. We loved our apartment; having our own full kitchen and terrace. The beach felt like our private paradise; so few people. Two really nice restaurants close by; even a safe night-spot with entertainment. Owners very helpful for sight-seeing advice. We hated to leave.

I've been traveling to the Tamarindo/ Playa Grande area for the past 7 years and Apartamentos Veranera is my favorite place to stay. If you are interested in experiencing the Costa Rica nightlife then it might not be ideal, but if you are looking for peace, tranquility and great surfing then this is by far the best option. I've viewed and stayed at other hotels and apartments in Playa Grande and nothing compares. The owners are great, very well organized and responsive to guest needs. I think the prices are fair and the best value in town. The apartments themselves have everything you need and are very thoughtfully organized-- including large closet areas, safe deposit boxes, great private porch areas, fully equipped kitchens, laundry and hot water that never runs out. If that's not enough, the location is absolutely perfect, an easy 2 minute walk to the main surf break in Playa Grande- which is one of the best and most consistent in the Guanacaste region. I've stayed in Apartamentos Veranera for months at a time and I can honestly say I have no complaints. Even though I'm tempted to try and keep this place a secret, I enjoy staying here so much that I had to post a review.

My son and I enjoyed a father/son trip July 2011 at Apartment Veranera. Our first extended stay in Costa Rica, and it was fantastic. We had everything we could want in a very convenient location along with the edge of a peaceful jungle only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Bruce and Dana ensured us a great stay and did not disappoint. They were very attentive yet gave us a ton of latitude. They were every cordial and "cool", you will be comfortable and feel very welcome. I would certainly recommend anyone of any age to stay here.

My son and I travel a lot and this was one of our favorite places. We are already planning to return next year. The apartments look even better in person then on-line. Very clean and walking distance to beautiful beach and local restaurants. I was very pleased to have high speed wireless internet connection that was working properly. The owners, Bruce and Dana, were very helpful with tips on exploring the area and country, recommending great eats and even some surfing lessons. Highly recommend this family friendly place.

Comfortable, Affordable & Perfect location!

I'm very happy to have chosen to stay here as opposed to staying in a hotel room. I stayed for a month and brought my dog with me. The apt had everything you can possibly need and more! Having a terrace to hang out in, a fully equipped kitchen, and literally a 2 minute walk to beautiful Playa Grande beach- added to the enjoyment of being in this place. The owners are super nice and prompt to help you with any issues/questions you may have during your stay. I really couldn't have picked a better place and location to spend my long vacation in. I highly recommend it for those who are looking for a comfortable and affordable home to spend their beach days in.

Everything about Apt. Veranera (called bouginvillas elsewhere) was perfect. The pictures, description and related information were all accurate. The hosts were exceptionally attentive and helpful. The apt was spotless, and kept that way by the maids. Everything was in excellent condition; the bed comfortable and firm, the sheets and towels thick cotton. Not one problem with the wfi and cable TV. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who loves nature and tranquility.

My husband and I have been staying at Apartamentos Veranera the past 4 years for are vacations in Costa Rica. The apartments have everything you need for a quiet and comfortable stay in Playa Grande. One of my favorite things about the apartment is the great outdoor living space. We spend the majority of our time on the terrace where we are surrounded by beautiful plants, flowers, and hummingbirds. The apartments are cleaned weekly and they have nightly security from dusk to dawn. Another great feature is that there is an onsite washer and dryer which is great wether you are staying a week or a month. The owners are always available to help you with anything you may need. The apartments are walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shops, and bars. Honestly we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Apartamentos Veranera will truly feel like your home away from home!

We had such a great experience during our time here. The location was amazing, and the owners really made our time here feel like we were at a second home. The apartments themselves are efficient and comfortable, and for the price you just cant beat them. I would never ever pay the extra $$ and stay in a hotel, when I could just rent these fully furnished apartments for a better price!~ Anyone thinking of spending more than a few days in Grande should really just give them a call and stop looking for lodging, this is the only place to stay. The location is just perfect too, nothing like waking up, grabbing surfboard and walking a few minutes right to the main break! Unbeatable!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Apartamentos Veranera, especially the location close to beautiful Playa Grande (a great walking beach) and a variety of restaurants. Our 2-bedroom apartment was clean and well-maintained, offering everything we needed to prepare meals, as we love to cook. The grounds were well landscaped and the outdoor shower was a bonus for washing off sand before coming into the apartment. It was also handy to have free on-site laundry facilities. Dana & Bruce were wonderful hosts who were quick to accommodate our needs, address any problems, and provide information about activities and amenities in the area. We found the location to be a great base for exploring the area, but a rental car is a must to get the most out of a vacation here.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I stayed 17 nights and had the most relaxing time in our apartment. Great location and walking distance to the beach and everything in Playa Grande. Definetely would recommend staying here if you are going to Cost Rica and want to visit a great beach.
