Absolutely the best view of St. Johns and the BVI's! You won't need to travel to other beaches because the best is right out your door. We were able to leave the sliding glass doors open at night, enjoy the tropical breeze and be put to sleep by the sound of the waves. Definitely a place to go back to!

This condo is located in a perfect part of St. Thomas. Away from all the cruise ships, but close enough to Red Hook - which has many wonderful restaurants and bars, as well as the ferry that you can take across to St. John. The view from the condo is amazing - you can look right across the ocean to St. John. We went during low season and practically had the pool and beach to ourselves. This is a very reasonably priced condo and it has everything you need to have fun! Enjoy!
Owner response:Thanks so much for the kind words, we also feel that Sapphire Beach is a perfect little "hideaway". We would be glad to have you back again any time.

We have been staying at Sapphire Beach for 4 years now. We have stayed in 3 other units and this one is the best. It's in the last building so it's very private. We happen to be smokers so we spent a lot of time on the balcony. The other units we stayed in had no breeze so there were a lot of little biting bugs. This unit has a nice breeze so it takes care of that. I would highly recommend this unit but not for the 3rd week in October because we will want it again next year.
Owner response:Thanks so much ! We LOVE our return rentors ! I'll get you penciled in !

We recently traveled to St. Thomas for our 30th anniversary and had a great trip. The owner was great and answered all of our questions and even gave us great tips on where to eat and what things to not miss. The location is perfect if you want a beautiful view and a nice place to stay. The unit was clean and comfortable but not so fancy that you were afraid to sit on the furniture, etc. All in all a great place to stay and the owners are really very nice and able to work with you. Hope to return in the future. I have made sure that all of my friends know of their unit.
Owner response:Thanks so much for the kind words. We try to make your vacation a pleasant experience. We would love to have you or any of your friends back here or to any of our other vacation properties.

I took my granddaughter here for a graduation gift. The condo was clean but out dated, but the bed was comfortable. I was really disappointed when I found out we only had 1 wash cloth and 2 towels each to last us for 8 days. I was disappointed again to find out we couldn’t sit on the private balcony when it rained, which was most of the time. Since it did not have a solid ceiling, you could not go out and sit when it rained. My last disappointment was when I had to notify the owner after returning home after almost 4 weeks to inquire about my deposit. Since I paid in full early, I expected better. Of all the places we’ve rented on Home Away or VRBO this was by far the worst. I would only recommend going to St. Thomas if you went to an all inclusive. My granddaughter (18) was scared whenever we left the resort to drive around the island. By far the best thing we did was taking the trip the BVI.
Owner response:I am sorry that you were disappointed in your rental. All of the units at Sapphire Beach have just a "sun shade" over the balcony and not a solid roof. My manager would have been glad to switch out towels during your stay and they typically do it at least once during your stay. I returned your deposit to you on the 28th of July and you didn't check out until the 3rd of July so it was within the month that I told you. St. Thomas is very safe, so I am surprised that your granddaughter was nervous, but I am sure that she will get less nervous as she does more traveling. We are constantly doing renovations on the unit, and trying to get some of the out-dated things replaced.

Great place, can't beat the location or the views...look off the balcony to a beautiful beach, with St. John and Tortola as a back drop. Nice clean unit, everything you could ask for for a vacation condo. Pool and marina (with all kinds of charter boats, jet ski rentals, parasailing, etc.), beach shop with kayaks & snorkeling gear are all just a few steps away...yet the condo is just far enough away from these things to not be noisy or intrusive. Red Hook, with great restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and the ferries to St. John & BVI's are only a short drive away...not even that far to walk it. Would return again and hope to soon!!!
Owner response:Thanks so much. I'm glad you had a good time and that you were able to get home safely. An extra day in the Carribean isn't a bad thing either.

Our vacation was fantastic. We snorkeled from the beach. We went to Megans Bay and Trunk Bay and after that - we found no reason to "beach hop". We loved Sapphire Beach and saw the same fish there that we saw at Trunk! Many reviews of Sapphire Resort say the resort is run down but workers were everywhere working on the landscaping, brick path, cleaning the pool and raking the beach. Yes, the outside wood is touched by the sea air but the grounds and landscaping are beautiful. The unit, the grounds, the resort and pool were clean. No - this is not the Ritz and that is reflected in the price. Because of the sea air we had a little trouble with sliding doors to the balcony but the Condo suited us great and as the owner describes. Sam, the manager is a treasure! He treated us like family from the time he picked us up at the airport. We cannot wait to stay here again. Its so convenient that lounge chairs are included with this unit. Dive shop said we had 2 hours free snorkel equipment per day with the property - but we opted to rent the gear for $10 per person for the week. Very reasonable. We have pictures taken from the balcony that still take my breath away. We took the New Horizons BVI day trip that was right there at Sapphire Marina - which was very convenient after drinking champagne and "painkillers" all day! I recommend this unit and hope to stay again. As long as you do not expect new kitchen cabinets, granite countertops and new tiled bathrooms you will not be disappointed. But again, that is reflected in the price - great value.

My family converged on St Thomas island for the wedding of my niece in March 2008; my brother, myself and our respective spouses stayed in your beautiful condo and enjoyed evey moment. Since one couple had to use the pull out couch and one couple got the bed, that was a big concern, but the couch turned out okay if we placed the couch coushions under the mattress we were pretty comfortable. Of course the view out to the beautiful bay was priceless. Snorkled right from the beach into the warm Carribean waters, watched the ocean for countless hours and overall had a great vacation. Thanks for the memories! PS, we rented a car to facilitate seeing all the sights but a person could easily see it all via the uniques taxi services as well.
Owner response:Thanks, Glad you had a great trip !

The location was terrific, right on the beach with a balcony that overlooked the water. At night you could hear the waves against the beach. The unit faces east so you get the morning sun. The unit could use some maintenance and it does not pass for U.S. hotel quality. It is typical Caribbean fair as far as the room is concerned. But it does function well for 2 people, and all was in good working order. Biggest complaints we had were the quality of the bed (supper firm) and the sheets, and nothing to help in keeping the room clean (broom, mop, or vacuum) as by the 3rd day we could have used a cleaning of the floor. There are 2 bar/restaurants on property, one in the lobby main area walking out onto the beach and another at the pool. We were there during Dec 2007, and were told they were about to do some changes to the resort to improve the restaurants and such. Excellent location right down the road from Red Hook area where there are several local bars, restaurants, and shops. Some of the best prices for local artwork and souvenirs are in the Red Hook area. I would stay at the report again, but might pick a different unit that has more up to date feel and comfort.
