Escape to the mountains and rest without distraction. This home is the perfect place for a family reunion, holiday, or just to get away from it all. Surrounded by trees, this home sits half way up a mountain with a beautiful view of the Nantahala mountains and a valley down below. Sip coffee in a rocking chair at sunrise on the wide wrap around deck and toast the sunset in the evening. The sunroom glassed in porch is the perfect place for a candlelight dinner, game of dominoes, or just to relax with a good book.
Need entertainment? Gatlinburg is 60 miles away. Asheville is 70 miles. Robbinsville, the setting for the movie Nell, starring Jodi Foster, is the closest town being only 14 miles. Great location with easy access and ample parking for vehicles, boats and trailers. Approximately 15 to 20 minutes drive to Tsali Recreation Area for mountain biking and horseback riding trails, Fontana Lake and Dam, Lake Santeetlah and Appalachian Trail. Close to trout streams, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Cherokee, Dillsboro, Great Smoky Mountain Railway.
You will hardly know you have any neighbors. This mountain side retreat is nestled in the woods with a view of trees, sky, and mountains. The home is situated at the end of the "Tail of the Dragon" which is a popular motorcycle thrill ride. We have a private driveway with ample room for 3 or more cars. There is also a very large detached two car garage with room to store one of your vehicles. A huge wrap around porch is great all day, always providing shade. There is a large glassed/screened in porch with a table for eating dinner or playing games. We also have satellite TV upstairs and downstairs. There is a gas burning fireplace upstairs and a wood burning fireplace downstairs.
The movie Nell was filmed in nearby Robbinsville. Nantahala Outdoor center is about 15 miles away where you can whitewater raft or canoe. Lots of ruby mines are around which is one of the favorite things our kids like to do. White water rafting is a huge activity to do there. Nantahala Outdoor center is a big draw.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
Hello! My name is Ann and we've been going to our mountain home since 1997. It belonged to my in-laws and when they decided to sell, we bought it from them in 2004. We absolutely love it in the mountains. The locals are so kind and laid back. We live in the city, but can't wait to get away from the day to day world of "life" and escape to our "No Worries" retreat.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Do you long for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of life? Then our place is the place for you.
