"The Lookout" at 22 Keeper's Landing is the perfect Bald Head Island get away for you and your family. The neighborhood is quiet and very child friendly. This beautifully decorated 3-bedroom/3.5 bath NEW island home is located directly across the golf cart path from the Keeper's Landing private boardwalk and pier. The 400' pier gives easy access to the island marsh and creek. Just a 3-minute cart ride to the East beaches and The Shoal's Club.

Relax and take in the sunrise or sunset on the island creek.

This house just went on the rental market in 2008, so take advantage of a fresh, clean, and new rental home. The beaches are easy to access by the house 6-seater golf cart or bikes.

Two bedrooms are located in the main house with the third bedroom located in the crofter above the golf cart garage. A queen size pull out sofa, located in the family room, provides for extra sleeping space.

  • Kid Friendly: Keeper's Landing Phase II is a private community perfect for families with young children. There is very little golf cart traffic, because the community is a destination and not a pass through to another community. Children play and ride bikes around the community, which is looped in design. There is only one way in and out of the community, so this helps keep traffic to a minimum. Very quiet, very peaceful, very safe.

  • I can only second the many favorable comments of previous guests. The accomodations, location, and owners are first rate in every way. For those unfamiliar with BHI, it is the perfect setting for a family vacation; wonderful clean beaches, fragrant maritime forests, and spectacular views across a marsh teeming with wildlife. Perhaps having driven four times now from Indianapolis is some testament to its appeal to my family. I'm fortunate to have travelled a good deal in 55 years and I consider this tip of Cape Fear to be unique and perhaps unsurpassed on the entire eastern seaboard. It's also worth mentioning the advantages of this particular rental. If you compare, you will notice dealing directly with an owner versus an agency affects price. You will find no one nicer than this owner and you'll have saved money in the process. Regarding the location of "The Lookout", I consider it ideal, being very close to the east beach (my favorite), just a few steps from a private pier running out into the marsh, and in a relatively quiet spot on the island. The house itself is clean as can be and has lots of little extras that just add to its convenience and charm. My only hesitation in recommending this gem is that you will be trying to book it the same week I'm trying to go back!

  • The Lookout is all about the perfect get away for our family. The owner made everything so easy and we didn't have a need for anything that wasn't already at the house. The house was VERY clean and very fun. The house is across the cart path from the private boardwalk and pier, where we spent many evenings with and without the kids. There is very little cart traffic in this neighborhood, so our children could ride bikes without worry. There is a kayak at the house with life vests, two adult beach bikes, beach toys, cooler, kids games, lots of movies. This was our first time renting by owner and it really couldn't have been a better experience. The house had much more room than we expected, which was a nice bonus for BHI. Our only suggestion is a grill, which the owner said they will add this Spring 2009. Great house!!!

  • We just returned from our stay at 22 Keeper's landing. Our family has been vacationing on BHI for over 10 years. I can't say enough about this house. We had a fantastic time. "The Lookout" has it all... bikes for long rides, explore the marsh with the kayak, fishing off the private dock. The house was filled with so many extras...tons of fluffy towels, soft linens, and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The owners have added so many extra touches that make you feel at home. I found the owners so easy to work with. I had no trouble making contact with them and they answered everyone of my questions! This was our first time to stay near the marsh...the kids had a blast crabbing and fishing off the private dock. Keeper's landing was very quiet..the kids loved riding their bikes around the loop. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone!
