Words cannot describe how much we loved staying at your home! It is truly picture perfect. What a great vacation! It was so nice to be able to "come home" after a day at the beach. We will definitely be back! We loved Coki Beach the best! Thanks Paul and Fran

We had a great time at St Thomas at the Villa Island Interlude. The home was just as pictured, clean and very well stocked. The extra space and privacy was what attracted us to rent this home, but we found there were many other things we enjoyed about our stay. 1st the owner, Paul made the trip very easy. He had great directions and recommendations for the beaches, the sites and the restaurants. He sent us a preplanning guide so we could research the attractions we wanted to see and his directions were very helpful since driving in St Thomas is a bit of a challenge. The 2nd thing that was great about or stay at Villa Island Interlude was all the extra conveniences that Paul provided. The cooler, the beach chairs, the beach towels, the ice maker and the water floaties made our beach visits extra comfortable and fun. We saved money by bringing our own beverages and lunches to the beach with us in Paul's cooler. The beaches in St Thomas are fabulous! At Magens Bay we enjoyed watching the birds dive for fish. At Secret Harbor we enjoyed the close up view of the iguanas living in the grape tree on the beach. The white sand and clear water and gentle waves were heaven on earth. We enjoyed the Ecotour kayak, hike & snorkle tour we did. Our guide Shawn was very knowledgeable and we saw many cool fish. The home was convenient located to Red Hook where most of our activities were based. We found it quite easy to take the barge from Red Hook to St John for the day. We loved Trunk Bay on St John! We also did a daysail from Red Hook that was the highlight of our trip. Captain Pam took us sailing on her boat called Fantasy. It was so relaxing! Pam and her 1st mate Alex took care of everything for us.They brought us to a private snorkle area where we saw sea turtles, baracouda, squid and many beautiful fish. I would highly recommend the Fantasy day sail! Thanks Paul for sharing your home with the beautiful view with us. You helped make our 25th wedding anniversary vacation fantastic! Our teenage boys loved it too.

Owner response:Thank you for enjoying the beautiful island of St Thomas while staying in our home. We enjoy having guests and hope you have a chance to return in the future.

We have been traveling to the US Virgin Islands for over 15 years. This was our 4th time renting a home on St Thomas and our second stay at Villa Island Interlude. The views are to die for! When we share them with our friends they are absolutely amazed and jealous. The breeze coming off the ocean is incredibly refreshing and we never have to use the AC. This villa is really a home; it has all the amenities that you would ever need. From the BQ on the deck, to the ice maker in the kitchen, to the spatulas and whisks, to the coolers and towels you have all you could possibly need to feel comfortable and enjoy your days relaxing by the pool or at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world only 10 minutes away. This villa is perfectly located, whether you want to hit Charlotte Amalie for shopping or dining, or hit Red Hook for a ferry to St John or one of St Thomas top beaches, it’s all quickly within your reach. This year we decided to take a day sail to Jost Van Dyke (BVI Island) on the “Day Dreamer” catamaran. This sail was amazing and the folks running the boat were wonderful hosts. The boat was clean, comfortable with plenty of space to spread out and relax. We would recommend Day Dreamer anyone! Paul and Fran are the perfect host! They have an indepth knowledge of the Island and their willingness help their guests plan their trip or support their needs while on the Island is excellent. They understand blending the level of support and help with space to enjoy your time! Paul and Fran, thanks for sharing this wonderful corner of the world with us! Our 12 year son said it best as we were leaving to head home, “I love this place - I want to come back”! The Parkers

Owner response:Thank you. We enjoy having returning guests who truly enjoy our home and look forward to seeing you again.

Great Stay in St. Thomas

Guest: Polly H.
Date of Stay: 02/15/12 Review Submitted: 02/22/12

The Villa Island Interlude is exactly as promised. The home looks just like the pictures. The views are absolutely outstanding. The decor is nice and very neat and clean. Paul, the homeowner, was extremely easy to work with. He provided us with detailed information about the island, directions to beaches, restaurants, shopping. The house has everything you will need, including beach chairs, towels, coolers and snorkel equipment. Our deposit refund arrived the day after we got home. Overall this was a wonderful vacation at a great value! Our only issue with St. Thomas was the driving was a little tricky. They drive on the left and the roads are a little hairy to navigate. Also there are lots of roosters making noise at all hours. But the beaches and weather are spectacular. Take the ferry to St. John one day as well. Enjoy!

Owner response:Thank you Polly. We love to have guests who take the time to fully enjoy the island and all its features. St John is a great day trip and I know the Caribbean roosters sometimes don't know when sunrise is (lol). We hope to have you back again soon.

60th Birthday in St Thomas

Guest: Fred W.
Date of Stay: 02/04/12 Review Submitted: 02/10/12

My brother and his wife, myself and my wife spent my brother's 60th birthday at this incredible home. To say the view is spectacular is an understatement! The home itself is everything the owners have described and everything you need is on the property. The owners provided us with detailed directions to the home as well as recomendations to the attractions and events on the island which was very helpful. The waters were clear and warm which allowed us to snorkel at many of the recomended beaches. The food at all the different resturants we went to was great. We only stayed for 5 days this trip, and next time we go will be for minimun of a week to do all the things we were not able to do on this trip. I would highly recomend that one rent a boat and zip around the islands for a day. We certainly plan to return to this island getaway. Thanks to Paul and Fran for sharing their home with us. Fred, Joan, Paul and Michelle Wagner

Owner response:Thank you for enjoying the beautiful island of St Thomas. Five days is a short stay, but now your appetite is whetted for your future trip......marlin fishing, diving, and the occasional rum swizzle.

Excellent home base for exploring USVI

Guest: Katy E.
Date of Stay: 01/25/12 Review Submitted: 02/15/12

This vacation rental is exactly as described, as is the high level of helpfulness from the owners. The views never grow tiresome, that's for sure. This time of year was windy on top of the hill so we didn't spend much time enjoying the home's outside amenities. We did enjoy the snorkel gear, beach chairs, coolers and plentiful beach towels for some beach days and a trip to snorkel at Trunk Bay on St. John. The home is clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we cooked several dinners during our eight nights. Directions to the home are great, but we passed the mirror landmark for the home's turn off. We expected a round mirror, but it was square and in a screened box. Adds to the adventure, and these islands are full of adventures in living. Also, if you use a Garmin GPS, you may find it doesn't know some roads very well. We purchased ours in late 2009, and it couldn't find its way on Skyline Drive. It did well on the primary roads we drove most days. Spending a week here far exceeds the one-day cruise experience many people have. We visited Water Island and rented mountain bikes to explore this traffic-free, quiet place. No cruise ships so plenty of bikes available. Bikes were pretty used, but they did the job. Explored Charlotte Amalie, but note the historic walking tour costs $14 each person. Ate lunch in town at Cuzzin's for Caribbean food. Very nice, very good food. We did eat the first night at Mahogany Run Grill, truly delicious, but you might get quicker service if you make a reservation. Our favorite St. Thomas beach was Secret Harbor, and the restaurant there, formerly Blue Moon, is now the Sunset Grill and the Cruzan Beach Club. We ate at the Beach Club twice since it was a lovely sunset spot right on the beach. The Grill part of the restaurant is more expensive, but also right on the beach. Snorkeling at Secret Harbor was also nice. We rented kayaks at the Ritz-Carlton beach. Ate one night at Iggie's Beach Bar & Grill in Bolongo Bay, over the hill behind the cruise ship dock. Visited Magen's Bay, where sea birds constantly dive in the water for fish. Great fun. The house is located close to the Red Hook end of the island, and we tended to do most all our activities in this area. We'd love to return to do the eco-tour to Hassle Island and more snorkeling/hiking on St. John. We'd rent this house again because it's a super value compared to beach resort prices.

Wonderful January Vacation

Guest: Susan D.
Date of Stay: 01/07/12 Review Submitted: 02/22/12

We had a fantastic week in St Thomas and the villa was just perfect for our family, including our two grown daughters. The view is the best anywhere on the island, and we took a picture from the deck just like the one on the website, which is now my screensaver. It just transports me back. The villa is clean and well-kept, and we loved having the beach chairs so we could go to quieter beaches without concern about chair rental. The first few times we drove up the windy road to the house were an adventure, but after a few days we felt like we had done it all our lives. Thanks Fran and Paul, you were terrific to deal with. We highly recommend renting this villa.

Owner response:Thank you Susan. We realize you travel quite a bit, and having a clean comfortable home for our guests to relax in after a busy day enjoying all the activities on the island. We look forward to having you back in the future.

Wow, great views and great breezes

Guest: Kenny & Susan (Richmond/ VA, US)
Date of Stay: 11/22/11 Review Submitted: 11/30/11

The views and breezes are amazing. The photos shown on the website are only a small portion of the actual views. You can see Coki Beach to the right, St John further out, and other islands including Tortola and Jost Van Dyke throughout the panorama. Amazing! The photos advertised of the interior of the property are the actual condition. Everything was fresh and bright and clean. The kitchen was well equipped, enough to cook Thanksgiving dinner while visiting. Pool and hot tub nice additions and very welcoming at the beginning and end of the day. The snorkeling equipment offered was in good shape and without leaks. Beach chairs and floats were also available. Plenty of towels too. All around this was a fabulous vacation property. The home is near many beaches, close to restaurants, and close to an early morning coffee shop. Friends and family will enjoy their home away from home when they stay at Villa Island Interlude. This is a property we will return to for future St Thomas vacations.

Owner response:Thank you Kenny and Susan. We do all we can to make sure your stay on the beautiful island of St Thomas is comfortable. The island takes care of everything else. We look forward to having you as a return guest in the future.

The Best Vacation We've Ever Had....

Guest: John J.
Date of Stay: 08/06/11 Review Submitted: 08/16/11

The house was perfect. It is located high on the mountain with the most breathtaking views you can imagine. Everything was clean, bright and charming, just as you see in the photos. The pool and hot tub are great features and we used them both very much. We actually spent one day just enjoying the property rather than sightseeing or going to a beach. Also, the property's location on the island is ideal. It is very close to the best beach locations and other attractions. Paul is excellent to work with and has his guests' best interest in mind from the outset. He was extremely helpful in making this a great vacation, beyond just renting the villa. We essentially made our daily plans directly from his very well-organized "pre-vacation planning package". Also, when I let him know we were going to extend our vacation an extra day, he even provided me a recommendation for somewhere to stay the extra night that worked out perfectly (the villa was booked for the week following our stay so that wasn't an option). Paul asked me if there is anything I would recommend to change or improve that would have made our stay more enjoyable, and I honestly cannot think of a single thing. St. Thomas is a beautiful place and I would recommend it to anyone. It is something you can't believe until you actually experience it. I would also recommend renting this villa rather than staying at a resort location. The extra space, privacy, wonderful views, ideal location, etc. make it so much more enjoyable.

Owner response:Thank you for enjoying our home and seeing as much as you can in a week. Sharing the island and all its features and activities is what makes having guests special for us. We will hopefully see you and your family again in the future.

Outstanding Villa Beautiful Island to Explore

Guest: Edward T.
Date of Stay: 07/31/11 Review Submitted: 09/09/11

We arrive without a problem thanks to the thoughtful and detailed planning guide provided by Paul, villa owner. The villa is perfectly situated on top of the mountain which provided an unbelievable vista of both St. Thomas and St. John along with a cooling breeze throughout the day and night. We spent most of our family time snorkeling the multiple beaches, especially Megan's Beach, the day trip over to St. John was incredible and the snorkeling at Trunk's Bay was one of many highlights we will never forget. The best part was having a beautiful villa to stay with all the amenities anyone would need. The kids enjoyed the pool which seemingly dangled over the mountainside providing a beautiful view while relaxing at home!!! This was certainly a trip worth repeating...

Owner response:It is our pleasure to provide a comfortable and attractive home for our guests to enjoy. We look forward to hopefully having an opportunity have you there again. The pictures you sent of your family enjoying the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean was great to see. Thank you for sharing.

The view was so breath taking and the home was so comfortable for the six of us that we stayed in for dinners to enjoy this wonderful picturous place that lies above the view of the BVI's where we had honeymooned 10 years prior. Whether relaxing in the pool or hot tub before grilling out, we found this place the ultimate in relaxation and convenience. The lovely home provided all the comforts we ever needed or wanted. Just a short drive down the mountain road we found secret harbor, which provided a great beach and lunch to play on. Close to shopping, beaches, groceries and diving it met all our needs. A great shore dive from down the road at CoCo beach. And many more places to explose and eat. We took the fairy to St. John, rented a boat and explored the BVI's for a day... we'll be back. Mary and Chip Swann

Owner response:Thank you Chip and Mary. We look forward to hopefully having you as guests again in the future. One can never get enough of the islands and the beautiful water.

Well what can be said the villa was just as it looked on this site. The only thing we did not like was the 2-mean birds on the 2nd floor deck. They kept charging us. The tv on the 3rd floor NEVER worked and had no instructions to fix it. I like to watch TV when going to sleep. Besides that GREAT all around AAA rating. Rented a jeep and drove St Thomas & St John need to tell folks that driving is a REAL adventure not to mention the driveways and folks driving in your lane. We loved our vacation very much. My Favorites were swimming with Omar the sea lion at Coral World, The Baths at Virgin Gorda and all the beaches we visited Megans Bay and Cookie Beach. We snorkeled with hundreds of fishies with the aid of DOG BONES who knew. Fav souvenir place to shop is by far the Top of the Mountain. We also visited Blackbeards Castle and purchased a mans necklace and real cool coin necklace. I also bought a beautiful blue diamond ring downtown Charlotte. The Lobsters rolls right off of main street should not be missed at Linda Beans. Our fav resturant we ate at twice was Fish Tails they had the best seafood at a great price. We tried to avoid the cruise ship crowds when navagating around the island. The ferries were very easy to use REMEMBERt o have CASH they have no credit card machines. The island did have a island wide power outage one day and the lady downstairs did say she could turn on the generator. Thanks gosh she was home when we returned as we needed to take showers and had NO water. She needed to pump the water tank and we then had water. The weather was great and Paul was easy to work with HECK I had the deposit check at home when I arrived after 8 days. This was a great villa to stay at and would recommend it to anyone. It is sticked with everything you could need we even left food we did not eat in the frig. St Thomas is a place I wouold go back to vacation at someday.

Owner response:Thank you for your comments. I wish you had either emailed or called me about the TV in the master bedroom. I could have had the cable company replace the box.

Best Vacation in Many Years

Date of Stay: 01/29/11 Review Submitted: 02/08/11

My wife and I, my daughter and her husband and 2 grandchildren ages 3 and 5 spent last week enjoying this beautiful vacation home. The view is spectacular. The family room/ kitchen has screened doorwallls which provide exceptional cross ventilation of the great ocean breeezes and frame the ocean views. The kitchen was fully equipped. The beds were comfortable with fresh linens. There were plenty of toweles and extra sheets and pillows. The spa and pool were great and used by the childern every morning and evening. No plumbing or electrical problems. Cable and internet worked without issue. Outdoor grill, and basement washer and dryer were a good extra. The decoration was light and cheerful. Lots of good books and board games. Well stocked with paper products. The location was convenient. Just a short drive to Megan's, Red Hook, Charlotte Amalie, etc. Covered deck was very comfortable and great for viewing the stars at night and just relaxing during the day. Owner was available and a pleasure to deal with. Concierge Jen did our grocery shopping and stocked the kitchen before we arrived. She is another extra special factor. We have stayed in St. Thomas before at resorts, but this was much better, with the room to strech out, relax and even have some privacy. We were able to buy fresh fish from local roadside fisherman-vendors and grill it. We bought local coconuts and plantains and made a great lunch we all will remember. No pets or the issues accociated with pets which is a plus for those with allergies. Very clean and well maintained. The perfect vacation spot, to my mind and reasonable priced.

Owner response:Thank you Tom and Maria: It's always a pleasure to know we have provided a comfortable and memorable home for our guests. It really is our home and we truly enjoy sharing it with others.

Christmas Week Stay

Guest: Carol (Plano, TX)
Date of Stay: 12/25/10 Review Submitted: 01/13/11

We arrived Christmas Day with our three adult kids and son-in-law. The house and property were wonderful for a family this size. It is clean and spacious, with a comfortable living room and large deck areas with an exquisite view. This is a home, with all the little things that come in handy - towels, games, cards, candles, a big grill, washer and dryer, blender, aluminum foil, salt and pepper, coolers, a couple beach chairs, goggles, flippers, etc, etc. The best thing we did was order groceries ahead of time through Jen, because we arrived Christmas Day to find our rental car was not available due to many canceled outbound flights. We used taxis for 48 hours. Access to all the beaches and to St John's was easy from the house, although the roads themselves are generally very narrow and sometimes very steep. We ate in a few nights, and loved having a full kitchen and plenty of room to play cards and watch movies. It was also very helpful to have an internet connection. Paul was wonderful to work with, always very quick to answer questions thoroughly. We had a fantastic week at Villa Island Interlude!

Owner response:Thank you Carol for your comments. The "little things" are what is important to making a house a home. We want our guests to be as comfortable as though they were in their own home. We always suggest having groceries delivered before arrival, and Jen does a great job setting up the provisions. We hope to have you and your family return to our home in the future.

My family and I just returned from St. Thomas staying at Paul and Fran's lovely hilltop home. The views are truly breath taking looking out over St. John and the BVI's. The house is clean, spacious, everything you think you may need is already there from toothpicks to dryer sheets! The property also has a nice hot tub and pool to come home to after a busy day at the beach or doing a day sail. Magen's Bay is less than a 10 minute drive and Mahogany Grill was the closest restaurant for appetizers and light meals. Communicating with Paul was very easy and he was quick to answer any questions that I had. Don't hesitate to book with the Gregg's, you won't be disappointed. We hope to return soon!

The Villa Island Interlude was just as promised with a breathtaking view and all the ammenities you might need inside, absolutely well equipped. Once you master "the hill" it is easy to get anywhere on the island. The children (12/8) loved the pool, it was shallow enough for them to play and enjoy themselves while we were preparing dinner. Spacious enough that the other couple who joined us had their "space" too.

Breathtaking View at Villa Island Interlude

Date of Stay: 05/04/10 Review Submitted: 05/09/10

Seeing this view is truly believing! The pictures of Island Interlude are gorgeous but seeing it is breathtaking. We arrived at the top of Mandahl Point on Tuesday in the early evening. After unlocking the door we were immediately drawn to the second level deck and the view of the Atlantic and other islands from 650 feet above sea level. We were amazed and in awe of the sight. Our groceries were ordered and delivered ahead of time, so we had time to settle in, relax, and enjoy the charm of the villa before having dinner a few miles away at Mahogany Run. The next morning brought a radiant sunrise peaking slowly over the mountains. We decided to spend the day relaxing at Secret Harbor Beach with a packed lunch. We rested from our day in the sun before we enjoyed a late dinner at Molly Malone's. The night sky was bright with stars looking like they were sitting on black velvet. Seeing this from the privacy of the third floor deck will not soon be forgotten. As if this all wasn't enough, our next day was spent in an incredible way. We sailed and snorkeled with Hollywood Joe on the Treazzure (Sailing Virgin Islands.com). We were enchanted with the hospitality of Captain Joe, First Mate Danielle, and Jack the cat and thrilled to swim with the sea turtles and stingray, see dolphin, and get an up-close view of an underwater paradise. The accommodations at the Villa are exquisite and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen, pool, and hot tub. This is truly an escape to a peace-filled place of tranquility and serenity and one that was difficult to leave. The owners of this Villa are extremely helpful and share tips and suggestions for island enjoyment.

Owner response:Thank you for staying in our home on St Thomas and enjoying the island and all its wonders. We often recommend guests to spend a day aboard the Treazzure and sail around the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. Snorkeling with the turtles, parrot fish, squid, fan corals, sea urchins, tarpon and many other forms of sea life certainly will give you a day to remember.

My husband & I and another couple spend 8 nights at the villa Island Interlude. We had a great time. The view was AWESOME!!! After the 1st couple days the weather was awesome also. The road to the house was a litte steep & narrow but we did get used to that. Paul & Fran were absolutely wonderful to work with. They truly opened there home. We enjoyed the pool & hot tub. I especially enjoyed getting up in the morning & going out before it got too hot & to watch the sun rise & also at night sitting out in the dark & looking at the stars & the lights of the other houses . Many great beaches to see, fun shopping & great places to eat. We especially liked Mahogony Run & the Greenhouse, also Blue Moon Cafe at Secret harbor. Pina coladas were good everywhere we went. Groceries are very pricey so if you can bring anything from home I would recommend it. Paul & Fran have just about any item (dishes, pans, utensils even a blender to make pina coladas) available to use. Its a great place if you like a little more privacy with an awesome view.

We were in St. Thomas for a conference at the Marriott. Even at the discounted conference rate, this was a much better value than a room at the Marriott. First, the view is outstanding. Nothing better than having a cup of coffee in the morning overlooking such a great view. Second, you get a kitchen that's pretty well stocked. We were pleasantly surprised to find most of the essentials we needed to cook meals. Third, you get three bedrooms, two full baths, living area, deck, pool, hot tub, parking, snorkel gear, beach chairs, coolers, washer, dryer, rum, etc., instead of just a hotel room. The owners are such a pleasure to deal with. Even though we have only corresponded with them by email, I feel like we could stop by and visit them when they're on the island and we would be welcomed like old friends. My only concern about writing this review is that I would love to keep this fabulous place a secret.

Breathtaking Views, wonderful vacation villa

Date of Stay: 02/06/10 Review Submitted: 02/23/10

The views from this villa are far more spectacular than the photos can possibly show, with gorgeous sunrises and even partial views of sunsets from the hot tub, pool, and covered terrace. The house is very comfortable, casually decorated, with floor to ceiling glass doors and windows on all sides of the main living space and in two of the bedrooms, revealing dramatic views of beaches and a salt pond far below and of several small islands, Tortola and St. John (especially romantic after dark when the twinkling lights of St. John come on). The kitchen is fully equipped, with upscale new appliances, and stocked with some staples (herbs and spices, etc.). Though the house is air conditioned, we never once needed to use it, as the breezes that flow through the house kept it at a perfect temperature (second week in Feb.) Our party included 4 adults (2 couples) and two very young grandchildren (under 3 years old), and the layout of the house worked perfectly for us. (It also could accommodate three couples and a young child or two, although there are only two bathrooms.) We loved the location, the close proximity to everything (though driving on the left and on narrow steep mountain roads was an adventure, but we were fine driving a minivan!). We would recommend any of the beaches on the island, all beautiful, each a little different, some very difficult to find as there are few if any signs to some of them and they are reached by driving through private resorts. We found snorkeling was especially good at Coki, Cowpet West, and Lindquist beaches. When we didn't cook in, we found the Grille restaurant at the Mahogany Run Golf Course - just down the road a few minutes - to be excellent. If you run short of food supplies and don't want to drive 20 minutes into town, Mandahl Market, just a minute down the road near the school on the opposite side of the road from the villa (turn right out of the villa, then left after the school, and take the first sharp right up to the market) has bottled water, eggs, packaged and frozen foods, the basics. Overall, we loved this villa, felt very much at home the entire week, and would happily stay there again. The owners, as others have noted, are wonderfully helpful and responsive. The privacy, the views, having a whole house to ourselves was a wonderful alternative to a resort setting.

Wow! We just got back from staying at this villa and it is completely amazing! I've never seen a view like this anywhere, it's incredible when you wake up and see the sunrise and just as amazing when you're sitting in the hot tub watching the lights come on in the distance of St. John's, Tortola, and Jost. The stars are fun to see at night, too. The house is decorated with all the special tropical touches and colors, and is very comfortable light, spacious and airy with all the cross-ventilation we didn't even need to use the air-conditioner. We really appreciated the gourmet kitchen and they have thought of everything you could need for the beach from coolers to beach chairs and snorkel gear! Our young adult children were very much impressed and happy with the pool-side lounging and gecko appearances! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful views of St. John, and British VI from a nice elevation on the desireable east side of island. Home and property were as advertised. Comfortable 3 bedroom, we had a party of 5 and found the home to be perfect. Owner is top notch communicator, very responsive and organized. Great to deal with. Overall, we highly recommend this property and would be happy to visit again.

We spent 6 wonderful nights at Villa Island Interlude and could not have been happier!! The views were absolutely spectacular and the home was very comfortably furnished. Car rental is a MUST, and driving the roads of St. Thomas was an adventure in itself! We would highly recommend dining at the nearby restaurant on the Mahogany Run golf course; best food we had on the island! Beautiful Magens Bay is just a few miles away, as is Coki Beach (great for snorkeling), and Red Hook. Paul was amazingly helpful and very quick to answer any and all questions we had during our stay. Can not say enough about how much we enjoyed our vacation in this beautiful home and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience St. Thomas outside of a resort/hotel. Thanks again Paul and Fran for a wonderful experience!!

Great Family Vacation at Villa Island Interlude

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Villa Island Interlude! The views from the villa are amazing! This was our first time visiting St. Thomas and the villa was very easy to find with the excellant directions provided by the owners. They also provided directions to the beaches, shops and St. John ferry which all were only a short drive away. The villa has a great island feel and it was clean and very comfortable for our family. We have young children and they really enjoyed Magen's Bay, Coral World, and the pool with the incrediable view! The villa had everything our family needed for a great vacation and would recommend staying here. We are so glad we chose to stay at this villa and will be dreaming of the view for a long time.

I stayed at Paul's House on the Northside it was perfect. The views were the best I saw in all of st. John and St. Thomas. The house had 3 nice size rooms and two huge balconies. I could not ask for a better place to stay. I would highly recommend renting from Paul. He was very easy to work with and gave some great advise. Having a house is way better then a hotel too.

Villa Island Interlude

We would highly recommend staying at the Villa Island Interlude!!! You cannot beat the price. You cannot beat the views!! We arrived around 11:30 at night and could not believe our eyes when we woke up the next morning. We had to pinch ourselves...were we really here. Although the pictures you see are beautiful...being there is even better!!! I don't think you could find a better view on the entire island, and the location of the villa on the island is perfect. (Don't let the road up to the Villa scare you...we did it at night with great directions.) The owners were wonderful to work with and give you lots of great information. Do your homework before you go...it's worth it. Find out when the big ships are in port and avoid the beaches when there are several ships in. We did our homework and we were glad we did. We went to Megans Bay, Coki Beach and Saphire Beach...and went when it was not crowded...what a great time we had. We took at sailboat (the Winifred) over the St John's and snorkeled with Capt. Doug. They took just us (two couples) and no more, which was nice. Be prepared to spend money on groceries!! Bring staples with you..you'll be glad you did. We found fishermen out early in the morning & and later in the afternoon...we bought fresh fish directly from them...they will even clean it for you. We golfed at Mahagony Run...the Devils Triangle was a fun...beautiful challenge. After golfing we had great burgers at Mahagony Run. But...Don't miss Latitude 18!! It's a must!! Ask anyone in Red Hook and get directions. The road getting there is quite a challenge, but worth it. Get there early and stay late...great entertainment!! What a great vacation!! I wish we could get away from the cold and snow more often!!

We just loved this villa on the mountain. We were five people and had plenty of place for all of us, the kitchen and living room was great. The view from the villa is magnificent. The road going up to the villa is a little rough, and a little hard to find, but once you know your way its fine. The villa was exactly what we expected from what we had seen on the internet. I will recommend this place to anyone.

Great Mountain top location

Guest: Chuck814 (Decatur, Alabama)
Date of Stay: 12/21/08 Review Submitted: 01/06/09

Nice house and a great location if you love fabulous views. The location on top the mountain on the North side of the island offered panoramic views of the ocean and the islands of both USVI and BVI. The wrap around decks were great as was the pool that kind of hung out over the edge of the mountain. It was very comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished with a large kitchen and a great family area. The owners were easy to work with and provided excellent directions and information about the island. The place can be a little tough to find at night so try to arrive with enough daylight hours to help you on Saint Thomas' winding roads. The only downside was the strong winds at night which are common during the Winter season. However, these also kept the place cool even when the days were quite warm. I would recomend a stay here to anyone.

Star Views and Sunrise

Outstanding! And that's where I spent quite a bit of time, out standing in the stiff November breeze by the hot tub and pool. Being on top of the north facing mountain provided a quick dry for hair and clothes, while keeping the air refreshing at all times. At night the stars became like diamonds on velvet - you just cannot beat the view from the hot tub as Orion slowly rotates past. The girls loved the view, the pool, the tub, the island, the food, the water, the submarine, Coral World, downtown shopping and of course, the wireless Internet so they could share their experiences daily! Mom and Dad likewise enjoyed everything from the stunning sunrises every morning to the views of BVI and beyond. Getting a Jeep was a great idea, and opens up some extra opportunities too. If we pass this way again, I know where we'll be staying! Thanks for everything!

The views are spectacular and the property is very"quiet" and private. The accomodations are very comfortable. Very good proximity to beaches. Coki beach is the closest and best for snorkling.Interlude resteraunt is good and close as is Mahogany Run. Don't miss the ribs and jazz at Tavern On the Waterfront in Charlotte Amelie. Marina market is the best in Red Hook. The owner is making plans for improvements to the pool and hot tub, but soaking in the hot tub at night with the view of the lights of St. John in the distance is great.

Perfect

Date of Stay: 05/13/08 Review Submitted: 06/04/08

I just returned w/ three friends from a great vacation in St. Thomas where we stayed at Villa Island Interlude. The place is perfect. The first thing you'll notice is the spectacular view. Every AM we'd wake up and ask ourselves if we were really looking at what we were seeing (a big difference from our normal NYC window views). The place was also spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool (on a deck practically hanging over the mountain-side) was also beautiful, offering more great views while you swim. The hot tub was great at night -- w/ moon, stars, ocean breeze. What was most rare: 1) the price -- we took it for the deal and because it looked decent. It turned out to be better than we imagined, making the price almost unbelievable; 2) the owners were extremely nice and professional. We were given a 5-page packet with useful information about the house and the island. Everything was as they claimed and our deposit was sent in full within a very short time of our return. If we go back, this is definitely where we'll be staying.

Our St Thomas Vacation Experience

Date of Stay: 03/29/08 Review Submitted: 05/14/08

Our family of five had a delightful Spring Break at Villa Island Interlude! The pictures are very realistic but EXPECT that pictures really cannot contain the grandeur of being on top of a mountain, looking down below at all that blue, blue ocean and the surrounding islands. It is simply majestic! The home is warm, welcoming and restful. It is located in a neighborhood and we felt like we were in a safe, well-maintained environment. The owners were most kind and helpful in advance. Be prepared to drive where you need to go and one must not be afraid of the many ups and downs and round-abouts of the local landscape. We recommend a 4 wheel drive. There are plenty of activities, beaches and restaurants to enjoy-Blue Moon Cafe for dinner- don't miss it! Also, don't miss St John for a day!

Most rental homes you will find in St Thomas or most places in the Caribbean for that matter are very expensive to rent! When we found this place we could not believe the price of the home. We thought it might be a mistake but sure enough we arrived at an amazing home complete with beautiful views, alot of room, anything you might need for the beach or living, a private pool and hot tub, and one of the best experiences of my life! It really was the best choice we could have made and we definetly plan to rent with these people again!
