My wife, 2 adult children, and I stayed at this unit for 4 nights. Having stayed on Waikiki during all our previous visits to Oahu, we wanted to get away from the hustle and crowds of Honolulu and chose Cheryl's condo because the price was right. I have to say the pictures are for the most part accurate, but I suspect they are several years old. The kitchen area was modern and well equipped for all our needs. The bathroom, however, is in serious need of remodeling. The bathtub faucet leaked badly and could not be turned all the way off. There was a note upon our arrival from the housekeeper saying the parts were on order to fix it and it should be fixed the next day. The note looked to be several weeks old, as it was crumpled and had obviously been left on the dining table for quite some time. The wall paper and ceiling paint in the bath / laundry area was peeling from the humidity of the dryer, which is not vented to the outside, but rather vents to the interior of the condo! The result of this is all the metal light fixtures and closet door frames being severely rusted and needing replaced. I was concerned that the unit was not air conditioned (a fact I either overlooked or is not mentioned in the listing), but there was such a constant, nice cool breeze that air conditioning was really not needed during our stay. There was plenty of swimming/snorkeling/beach gear available and was much appreciated. There is security all night at the facility, and the private parking lot was a plus. My final comments would be this: Although the listing states it sleeps 6 people (and technically it does), don't think you would have accommodations for 6 adults. You might sleep 2 adults, possibly a couple of teenagers, and 2 small children to add up to 6, but the sleeping arrangement would not be comfortable for 6 adults - there is one king size bed (which was comfortable) 2 twin size day beds (?) and a full size futon. The unit is really in need of a very deep, thorough cleaning. Having said all this, the unit was not a disappointment for the price we paid. The condo would be fitting for a couple with small kids on a tight budget.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Great place for my family!! Condo was in nice condition, with many new upgrades and the beach was great for my two year old daughter! Condo had supplied beach toys and snorkel gear. Loved the location and loved watching the sun rise every morning on the Lanai! Will use again for sure for our next trip in the near future to Oahu! :)Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The pictures are true to form at this condo. We loved the direct ocean view and spent lots of time out on the lanai. The accomodations are spacious, and the bed in the room is very comfortable. The owner was quick to respond. I hope to stay there again!Recommended for: Families with young children.

Our family of 6 stayed here for a week: My husband and I and four sons (17, 14, 12, 8). The accommodations were comfortable and we felt we had enough room. We choose this area for the price, location and proximity to snorkeling. We also liked being away from the "hustle and bustle" of Honolulu. This meant that we had to drive farther to attractions than if we were in Honolulu or Waikiki but everything is within an hour's drive. We especially liked how close to the beach we were. Although the beaches are not private, access is so the beach was fairly empty for most of our visit. The snorkeling was decent...good enough that we choose not to visit Hanauma Bay as we had visited there on a previous visit. We saw sea turtles, eels, and large sea urchins. Most of the days, the water was calm and visibility was decent. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I loved having a washer and dryer in the condo. I agree with other reviews that the condo could use a deep cleaning but I didn't think it was dirty. The floors, carpets and other surfaces were clean. The living room was comfortable for our sons to sleep in and they could hear the ocean all night. The bedroom gets a lot of street noise; we're glad we travel with ear plugs. My husband always travels with his own pillow and I wish I had also. To have a successful snorkeling experience, I would bring, rent or buy your own snorkel equipment. We also brought a few of our own beach towels because I knew we would use more than the 6 provided (which was fine). Overall, an excellent place to stay considering: our budget, location, proximity to the beach, much more comfortable than a hotel for our needs/activities.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, girls getaway.

This condo was clean and felt like home . It had everything our family of 5 needed to make a great stay in Hawaii. Our three kids 11-14-19 slept great as did my wife and I. There is traffic noise but after one night I didn't hear it much. The kids listened to the ocean at night with the Lanai door open. The beach was nice enough to play on. The location is kind of rural but very close to alot of north shore stuff. The condo included all the sheets, bath towels, beach towels, pillows, beach chairs, masks and snorkels we needed. Washer and Dryer, dishes, soap, fridge, microwave, pots and pans, silverware...Just everything to help our family stay on a budget and enjoy our stay. I would rent this condo again next time for sure. Thanks Cheryl for the great accomidations!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We got the best deal we could have hoped for staying at this condo with our two preschool-aged boys. The building is clean, secure and well-maintained, although in need of a face-lift. Having stayed there before, I was not disappointed in the age of the building, and the grounds were nearly impeccable. Quiet, perfect beach - no public access, with turtles and monk seals and snorkeling right there, but the coral doesn't start until quite a distance out, so there is plenty of great sand for playing and just '"beaching". The reef in the distance keeps the surf from ever being too rough. The property has picnic tables, bbq grills, an outdoor shower to get the sand off, a pool (unheated and uncomfortably cold, but thus nice and quiet!), deck chairs and tables with umbrellas on the patio... good facilities. There is also an exercise room in great need of an update, but better than nothing. The condo feels quite spacious for a 1-bedroom, and it's well supplied. We really appreciated the beach towels, snorkel gear, pails and shovels, and beach chairs (in bad shape - but nice to have!). The king bed was really comfortable. We didn't use the futon except as a couch, but it seemed to have a good mattress on it. The two twin-sized beds/couches were used by our 2 and 4 year olds, and I would NOT recommend them for anyone over age 7. The thin foam mattresses and spring supports are in bad condition for sleep if you weigh more than a small child. Plenty of towels and bedding, nice to have laundry facilities right there in the condo. The kitchen has been recently renovated and feels nice, with all the kitchen supplies you might need to eat-in. Wi-fi, cable and DVD player are all great to have. Small library of used books. Large lanai with seating for 6 and a great view. Ocean breezes go right through the condo, making A/C unnecessary. But there is a lot of road noise in the bedroom, even with the windows closed. Some whiffs of sewer smell on occasion. Our only real disappointment was the cleanliness. Although it had been cleaned satisfactorily for our arrival, it is in need of some serious deep-cleaning. Thick dust on fans, grungy feel to the carpets, hard water or scum on the bathroom fixtures, fridge kind of crusty. But for the price we paid we didn't expect fresh and new and our standards are high. The kind of cleaning it needs is a step above standard rental housekeeping, but definitely needed. Cheryl and Kathe were friendly to work with. Recommended!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, sightseeing.

The place is exactly the same as it is featured on the web site. Great value! Most of the time we had beach just to ourselves. The ocean and the beach are unbelievable! Quiet location, has everything you might need for your stay. The best of the stay were the people - Cheryl, the owner, was extremely helpful and caring and would always get back to me on all my questions right away. Kathe, the housekeeper, was also wonderful. Thanks much and I'd love to come back!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We spent 8 days at Cheryl's condo. Prior to & after booking the condo, Cheryl answered all of my emails quickly. She gave us thorough and concise directions to get to her condo. We had a minor issue that Cheryl dealt with quickly. She also followed up to ensure that every thing was all right. The high speed internet was fast. The laundry faculties were great to have, Area review: Pat's at Punaluu is roughly 45 minutes from the airport and Pearl harbour using the beautiful H3 interstate. About an hour to Waikki. 300 yards away there is Subway and convenience store. It is about 10 minutes to small town of Laie ( PCC, Dominoes, Pizzu Hut, Mc D's Foodland (grocery), movie theater, Subway and Giovanni's Shrimp truck). Kanoehe is 25 minutes to the south and has everything in the way of retail and restaurants. It's about 30 minutes to Haeliwia on the North Shore. Along the way to Haeliwia there is an excellent snorkeling spot called Shark Cove. Its a tough spot to find on a map. It is located on the west side of Pupukea beach right next to Pipeline surfing area. Turtle Beach is also on the way to Haeliwia. It's on Laniakea beach towards the east end of the beach. Keep in mind theft out of vehicles seem to be an issue along the north shore. Pat's at Punaluu Review: Very secure area. There is night security for the parking lot. Elevator and stair access require key fob for entry. Building and grounds are well kept and clean. Lots of rules but didn't impede on our activities except in the pool. I was asked politely to have my kids to remove snorkel masks when they were the pool. The manager wanted them off to prevent sand from entering the pool. I told him that the masks were rinsed but he still wanted them removed. The kids promptly left the pool after that and never used it for the rest of the trip. The narrow beach is nice. We were the only ones ever on it. The water near the beach is sandy for about 20 feet then gets full of coral. Make sure to bring water shoes. There is very little wave activity. The snorkeling is good especially near the larger rock/coral formations. There also quite abit of turtle activity. Best way to spot them is to look from the beach when the come up for air. Snorkeling with the turtles was the trip highlight. As the other reviews stated there is some noise from the road but not too bad. Any sewer smell was isolated to the area in the parking lot next to the road. Bottom Line: Looking forward to going backRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

What an amazing view... perfect to catch the sunrise. The location has good access to Honolulu as well as the North Shore without the crowds and is good to see all the sights of the island. Turtles were right out front and the beach is perfect for swimming with kids. The kitchen is very nice and recently updated. The condo is well stocked with comfortable beds and linens. You just can't beat this for the money. Thank You!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Cheryl is a wonderful and helpful person to work with. I stayed here with my 3 kids and husband and we loved it. This place was spacious! The master bedroom had a huge bed, and the kitchen had everything I could possibly think to need. The ocean was way too comforting to spend every night in the master bedroom and we fell asleep with the kids in the main room many a night. Located right above the pool, but not noisy at all. Got the most amazing photos of sunrise! Beautiful plumeria trees in the front of the complex, and a wonderful area of grass and lounge chairs and umbrella tables in back. Beach is literally down the stairs from the condo. There's a great little area to hose off sand after you get done hanging out at the beach, but if you are in for a longer stay like we were, the vacuum cleaner and broom and dustpan came in very handy! Everything was clean and even met Cheryl when she came to make sure everything was working properly before our stay. Parking is assigned so you don't have to fight for a spot. Her directions are clear and understandable. The town is small (compared to Waikiki) but perfect!!! Well worth not having to deal with the crowds of tourists. Big towns and stores are about 30-45 minutes away, but the drive is lovely with lots of scenic places to stop and beaches to visit (especially if you go along North Shore area). We were already missing the place day after we left.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
