Looking for the perfect beach getaway? Recently remodeled Cavalier Corner is located in beautiful Oak Island, North Carolina. This ocean view home is located just steps from the beach with direct beach access. The 4 bedroom/2 bath home was completely remodeled in late 2006 and boasts a beautiful, beachy interior that will make you feel right at home. Front and back decks on the home allow you to take advantage of the ocean views and cool breezes. Kick back in the adirondack chairs or one of the two hammock swings available and enjoy the sound of the surf or a good book.

We are located about a 1/2 mile from the Ocean Crest Pier which will please the fishermen in your family. We even have crab traps and nets for those that want to try their hand at crabbing in intra coastal waterway or one of the many locations that are home to blue crabs. The home's kitchen is fully outfitted for you to prepare the day's catch. We also have extensive video libraries for the adults and children in your party for you to enjoy in the evenings after a long day on the beach.

An outdoor ping pong table, miniature basketball hoop, and an assortment of sporting equipment for you to use. Coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogies boards, and skim boards are also provided for your convenience. Bicycles are available for you to take a tour of the island (2 adults, one of which has a baby seat, and several children's bikes with helmets, along with a pull behind bike trailer for the little ones). You can ride to Ocean Crest fishing pier to get an ice cream; to Middleton Park which includes a skateboard park, basketball court, baseball fields, tennis courts, and playground; or to one of the many natural areas the island has to offer.

The Town of Oak Island is a family-oriented beach with ten miles of coastline on one side and the Intracoastal Waterway on the other. The beach is positioned to face south, which makes for a gentle surf, moderate tides and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Oak Island extends to the public more than 60 public beach accesses, four fishing piers, two marinas, three public boat/canoe ramps, bike paths, numerous picnic areas, walking and canoe trails and extensive sidewalk system. If golf is your game then you'll have over 30 championship golf courses to choose from carved out of maritime forests, sculpted around freshwater lakes, and bordered by beautiful live oaks and towering long leaf pines in the Southport-Oak Island area. When you stand on the beach at Oak Island and look out over the Atlantic Ocean, you are actually facing the Bahamas, Florida and Cuba, and not Europe or Africa. Oak Island is 12.6 miles long and averages about 1 mile across, making it Brunswick County's largest Island. Unlike other North Carolina beaches, shells can always be found on the shores of Oak Island.

Oak Island is about 7 miles from Southport, a beautiful waterfront town near the mouth of the Cape Fear River. In Southport, you'll find quaint shopping, historical homes, art galleries and museums, and assorted waterfront restaurants and parks. You are also 30 miles from Wilmington and about 60 miles from Myrtle Beach. Oak Island has a a complex coastal ecosystem with areas of salt marsh, freshwater wetlands, maritime forests, and miles of beach strand. The Island is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including the seasonal visits from Atlantic sea turtles, who return every year to lay eggs. Sea turtle populations include the Green, Loggerhead, and rare Kemp Ridley turtles. The Town, in conjunction with the US Army Corps of Engineers, recently completed a Sea Turtle Habitat Restoration Project to restore sea turtle habitat lost to erosion. With so much natural beauty, historical significance and unique character, it is easy to see why Oak Island is such a great place to visit on your vacation!

Why the Owner Chose Oak Island

Oak Island serves as a great place for family getaways and provides a multitude of activities for all ages. We bought our home for personal enjoyment and have recently opened it up to rentals to allow others to enjoy. Oak Island is truly one of the last non-commercial beaches in the Carolinas, as evidenced by the sea turtle's annual nesting on the island.

The Unique Benefits at this House

We provide a number of amenities not found in standard rentals, including a video library, boogie boards, skim boards, fishing and crabbing gear, beach chairs, sporting equipment, beach equipment, etc.
