Skiing for the lazy!
This is a 3-bedroom duplex apartment, 100 m2, in Avoriaz, above Morzine, in the French Alps. Take the elevator down to the bottom of the building and ski away, and arrive home the same way. Avoriaz is in a ski area called Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski domains in the world, with several hundred kilometers of ski runs of all levels amid spectacular Alpine views.
Summer activities include golf, tennis, mountain biking, hiking, heated pool, trampolines, climbing wall, circus school and horseback riding.
There are no cars allowed in the village so transportation is by foot or horse-drawn sleds (in the winter) or carriages (in the summer).
The apartment is cozy and well furnished, with a south-facing balcony overlooking mountains and ski runs. Two bedrooms provide queen-sized beds, and one children's bedroom has bunk beds plus mattress for two more children or teenagers.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the fireplace provides warmth and atmosphere, winter and summer.

My family and I have just spent a fabulous week in Avoriaz ( over Christmas ) The description and photos of the apartment was very accurate. This apartment is in a fantastic ski in / ski out position, and within walking distance to all amenities. The views are amazing. We found the apartment clean, warm and cosy ( like home from home ) and very well equiped. All the rooms were surprisingly a lot bigger than expected, and it was great to have a seperate sleeping area downstairs away from the main living area. Brilliant for familys with children. I had my 5yr old grandson with us on his first ski holiday, he enjoyed playing with all the games in the apartment and the local activities, sledgeing/ ice skating etc. Most of all it was nice to have two bathrooms ( a womens dream ) when on a group holiday. Also the laundry facility was a big bonus. The portes de soleil ski area is vast and beautiful, I would definately recommend this resort and especially this apartment to anyone. The resturants are good, plenty of different activities to do for all the family. We will be visiting this ski resort again next year with family and friends and will hopefully be able to stay in this excellent apartment. I would like to say a big thankyou to Anne ( the owner ) for being so helpful and making our Christmas Vacation a special one.

I stayed here with my husband, two young children and two friends. We found the apartment to be much more spacious than the photos portray (with the exception of the kitchen which although functional is very compact). It was great to have laundry in the apartment. There were lots of games and books to keep the children entertained. There are two levels in the apartment, with the bedrooms separated nicely from the living space. The views are amazing and the unit really is located right on a ski run with good access to the resort. It's a bit of a trek from the parking area to the apartment, but everything else is very close. My young children could easily walk to the ski school in the center of Avoriaz and we could easily access groceries, restaurants etc. The Portes de Soleil is a great place to ski - almost unimaginably big and this apartment was a great place to start our explorations. The owners were easy to work with and very helpful in answering questions about the area, ski school etc. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever back in France/Switzerland.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children.
