Why the Owner Chose Walker
We purchased our home on Leech Lake in 1997 and lived there as our primary residence until the summer of 2004, then our life brought us to our current home. We have kept our home on Leech Lake as a cabin and have found that we don't have enough time to spend there. In the summer of 2007 we decided to rent out our home as a vacation rental. We have rented places in the past and have had such wonderful times and great memories that we are happy to be able offer that same experience to the guests that stay at our Leech Lake home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
When we spend time at our property, we enjoy the beautiful views, the peaceful surroundings, and the great time spent as a family. My children love swimming off the dock and trying their hand and skipping rocks. They also love to have bonfires and roast marshmallows. We all enjoy breakfast and coffee on screened in porch and most other meals as well. My husband and I love sitting up and playing cards after the kids have gone to bed, and watching the beatiful sunsets and the fireflies. We enjoy waking up many morning to deer in the front yard munching away and the beautiful sounds of the loons. We are always so excited to get there and sad to have to leave again.

We loved this property. The owner described this home perfectly and the pictures are accurate. We have stayed at several VRBO properties throughout the years. This home has been our favorite of all. The home was spotlessly clean and very comfortable for our family of seven people. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. Linens were abundant. The washer and dryer ran efficiently. The deck, screened in porch, and dock are well maintained. The home itself is beautiful and nicely updated. It is secluded, but still close to the town of Walker and the stores. We enjoyed the screened in porch and used the grill each night. We didn't use the fireplace, but it was beautifully clean. We rented a boat from Anderson's Cove and it was relatively cheap compared to other boats we have rented in the past. We rented a tube from Walker rental and had a great time boating and tubing. Leech Lake can be somewhat choppy, but the property's dock is in a bay area which helped. The boat lift was helpful. We also went to the city's beach, and Whipholt Beach. Both were fun. We would have liked to see Itasca(nearby), but it rained the day we planned on going. The town of Walker is friendly. The grocery store was surprisingly inexpensive and had a good selection of meat and foods we needed. We didn't eat out much, but when we did, we found it to be a bit on the pricey side. Enjoyed ice cream in town and a little shopping on a rainy day. Great family vacation up north!

We stayed here in the summer of 2009. It is a beautiful home, well cared for with amazing views. We had campfires down by the lake every night. It was fun and relaxing and would stay there again.

Your lake home is beautiful, comforting, very accommodating, who could ask for anything more? A huge yard for yard games, a boat lift to make a lot things easier on the water, your place has it all. With an updated kitchen like yours, and a gas grill, who need to dine out? Our third visit isn't coming soon enough. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your home with us. We look forward to our next visit this summer and hopefully many more to come.

Just a note to say what a BEAUTIFUL place you have on Leech!!! We enjoyed our family gathering, and it was nice to have plenty of room to roam inside and out. We had a wonderful Monday renting a pontoon at Trader Bay Lodge, we really soaked up the sun. Don came up and introduced himself on Friday. Very nice guy. Got a lot of info about biking trails from him. We had a very nice trip and lovely accomodations. The terra cotta deck burner was a hit Saturday night after returning from dinner and got a few beautiful snuset pictures with the burner lit in the foreground athat turned out very nice. My father-in-law was a wreck to have it burning up on the deck so he was watering the whole deck down while we were sitting around it. We all just laughed!! He could not imagine "lighting something like that on you deck for crying out loud!".......Lots of memories made and everyone thought the place was wonderful for our needs. Thanks agian for all your help in answering our questions along he way. Enjoy the rest of your summer! Jill

Just wanted you to know that we had a wonderful time. The weather was more than cooperative and we were able to do all the activities we planned and then some. The house was great and we all enjoyed the view, the games, the outdoors, the water, and the town of Walker. The kids spent lots fo ttime in the water and associated water activities - boat lift worked great. The fireflys were a huge hit - our son-in-law was fascinated as were the kids - they evidently do not have them in CA. We met Lisa and Don and both were so accomodating to our questions and needs - you have some good people working with you at your property!! We had a thoroughly great family vacation and 4th of July. Thank you for letting us spend time in your "great getaway"!!!! Everyone is anzious for a return trip!!! Sandi

We had a great weekend, almost all the family was here from across the US for the reunion (took over Chase on the Lake) so except for the sunburn and damage to teh prop on the boat we rented for the weekend, we had lots of fun. You have a very nice home, we all liked staying there. Thanks, Jon

We had a fabulous week at your home on Leech Lake, even if the weather was cool. Our 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, 4 of our 7 grandchildren and boyfriend of our 20 year old granddaughter joined us on Fri. evening through Sun. after brunch. Our "kids" made our 50th anniversary a stand out memory!! After Sun., it was Mauri & myself, along with Rich & Jill and their 2, along with the boyfriend---we all feel blessed to have been able to spend time together at your beautiful lake home! Thanks much! Bev & Mauri
