Located in the quaint fishing village of Gills Rock, the Summer House sits on eight peaceful acres. The front four acres are manicured lawns with a horticulturist's creation of over 25 different species of trees. There are many perfect spots for having picnics or coffee under the trees. The back 4 acres is wooded and the perfect place for hiking.
The Summer House is private and peaceful, yet just a minutes walk to shops, restaurants, charter fishing boats or sunset cruises. Just a few minutes walk takes you to our GT Coffee shop for your morning or afternoon pick-me-up and their special pastries and treats. While out for a stroll you might stop in at the fish sheds and catch a glimpse into the lives of our local Commercial Fishermen, continuing Wisconsin's oldest industry. Check the daily catch and hear the stories they share freely, or purchase your own supper fresh from the Lake.
Adjacent to the property, yet hidden by thirty-foot evergreens is a town park. Hiking trails, volleyball, children's playground, gazebo, and play area are available for your enjoyment.
We have a fire-pit for roasting marshmallows, telling stories late into the night, or for warming one up during the August meteor shower, or star gazing as a family. Put the children to bed and spend time as a couple by the fire. You don't have to worry about neighbors a few yards away or the safety of your children, the acreage is yours to enjoy alone!
If camping sounds fun, feel free to put up a tent on the property and let the the children enjoy tenting for the night.
This is your chance to have relaxation and peace away from the hustle and bustle of noise and traffic, your own tranquil place to unwind and relax together with your family. We have never had a visitor who did not mention how beautiful and peaceful this cottage and property were to their stay. It is indeed a very special place at the end of the Door County Peninsula. |
