I am a licensed real estate agent. I specialize in the sale of historic properties, land and timber. I live in a small rural town in central Virginia. I enjoy my work, family and travel. In my spare time I spend lazy days at the lookout cottage fishing, crabbing, cooking and relaxing with my three grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Mathews
My husband and I decided to look for a building lot in the Mathews area. First we found the plans for the lookout cottage and then set out to find just the right spot to build it. When we came upon this lot there were already pilling up as if someone had started construction. When we asked the owner why the pillings were in place, we found he was starting to build the very same home we had choosen, but decided to enlarge the floor plan and build on the adjoining lot. So our dream home was being built even before we found it. We looked no further and you must admit the view is wonderful.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We enjoy the fact that most of the homes around us are occupied by owners who live there year round. It gives us an added sense of being in a community. We love the veiw, fishing and crabbing and never get tired of just gazing out at the wildlife. We have even seen deer on the beach.

Loved, loved, loved the home. Was extremely relaxing for me. I traveled with friends and their kids in 2009. We were disappointed in the amount of grass in the bay in front of this home. We could not use the water in front of the house. The neighbors let us use theirs a few times so there was fishing, going to bingo in town, driving around to see the sights. We wished the pool in the camp ground would be open to us. The VCR did not work so the movies could not be seen. To enjoy water there was a haul to Virginia Beach with two kids. After we stayed, the posting was updated to mention the grass in the bay. The home is amazing and the neighbors are great. If you like to fish, enjoy the sun and relax in a small town environment, this is a fantastic location for you. This is also a great off-season place for gatherings or romantic get-away.

We just returned from our week at this wonderful home for the 2nd year in a row. It is a beautiful home with absolutely everything you need for a great vacation. The pier is awesome- we caught around 80 crabs total for the week-they were the best! We did alot of fishing & wading in the water when the tide was out-our kids love the place. The TV on third level did not operate which was disappointing on rainy days because the Wii is located there as well but other than that everything was great.
