We welcome you to our truly Northwoods getaway! “Lake of the Woods” is a 35 acre, 35-foot deep, clear, semi-private lake,in which you can swim off of the pontoon boat or, if you choose, you can fish right off of the dock. If you prefer to cruise the lake, you may use our complimentary electric powered 18 foot pontoon boat or canoe. Local ordinances restrict gas-powered watercraft on this quiet lake. This quiet lake allows the loons to call each other and the eagles to soar overhead. If you so choose, you may rent our 24-foot pontoon boat with a 60 HP motor that will accommodate 15 people. The boat is docked on a nearby lot on 1800-acre Red Cedar Lake. This private lot has an inviting, park-like setting.The daily rental rate for this pontoon boat is $200, plus use tax and gas. A discounted rental price is given to chalet guests.
If you are a land-lover, you may enjoy sitting by the fire and watching the bald eagle perching on one of the branches on our property. Birds and deer have also signed our “Visitor’s Book”.
We are located just two miles west of Birchwood, the "Bluegill Capital Of Wisconsin," in Barron County. The chalet is situated on a quiet,dead-end road with
snowmobile trails, including the state owned Tuscobia trail, and Tagalong Golf Course await your visit. The area lakes include the following fish species: Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass, Perch, Crappies and Bluegill.
Our chalet, which includes a three-car attached garage with separate openers is five years old and was built as a private, non-smoking, residence on Lake of the Woods. This 2400 square foot home comfortably accommodates 10 guests. A kitchenette in the walkout area offers extra cooking options. A back yard fire pit, with complimentary fire wood, is a great “s’ mores” starter.

For your safety & health we are licensed with the State of Wisconsin.
$250.00 nightly rental deposit required, $500.00 weekly rental deposit
Rates are subject to 5.5% use tax.
Cancellations can not be refunded. Cleaning fee of $100.00 for daily rentals only

Would love to see a ladder at the end of the dock. We caught enough for all of us to have a great meal. Our family came from, Williston, ND., South Bend, IN., Appleton, WI.and Fort Atkinson, WI. We couldn't have asked for a better place or better weather or better hosts. The banana, cherry nut bread, that you brought over, was delicious. Hope to be back again! Our family would also like to comment on our stay. We had an incredible week at the chalet and as Saturday night draws near, none of us want leave! We packed tons of fun and a thousand memories into 7 days here. We went swimming, fishing, diving, played games and ate very well. We loved watching the loons and caught a lot of pan fish. We went frog tipping and even watched a mother bear and her three cubs. We will definately return and continue the memories. Thanks so much for the great cabin.

FROM GUEST BOOK I caught an 11" and a 10" bluegill from the dock. We caught about 2 dozen crappies on the last two nights. We caught too many bass to count, and we also hooked a couple of northerns. And those memories was just from fishing. We also had a great time swimming, sitting around the bon fire, playing games, watching movies, and just relaxing. It was the best vacation any of us have ever had and we are booking for next year and we're hoping to make it an annual one.

We loved the house, the lake, the pontoon, the loons and the fish. It was just magical and perfect for our big group. One evening as we were sitting on the deck a mother bear and three tiny cubs came by and we so enjoyed watching the black bear cubs climb a tree. Thank you and we will be back.
