Balsam is a great fishing lake with 2054 acres and trophy walleyes and bass
Location: Balsam Lake, Northwest, Wisconsin, USA (Only 80 Minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Downtown)
Accommodations: Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
Keywords: Comfortable Cabin on 75 feet of south facing hard bottom lakeshore on Polk County's largest lake.
Great south facing cabin on the shores of Balsam Lake, WI. This is the premeire lake in the area, so if you want the biggest and best lake this is the place! Less than an hour and a half from the MSP Airport and less from most areas in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area. Great Bass, Walleye, and Crappie fishing lake with good clarity and other recreational opportunities. Ice fishing is also great on this lake as well as recreational activities such as Balsam Lake Winterfest February 4&5, 2012
Paradise Landing Resort and the Cabin Bar provide fine and casual dining and entertainment check out their website by Googling Paradise Landing and Wisconsin.
The shoreline has boulders for erosion, but sandy bottom and great swimming with a gradual slope and moderate water depth. The property sits on a channel just west of the "Narrows" that is about 250 yards wide as you view the lake from the house. Newly completed boathouse with rooftop deck located lake-side.
Dock is in place and ready for your fishing or water ski boat. Pontoon seats 10 people and has a new 60HP 4-stroke motor and canopy top for the sunny days. The pontoon is available for $100 day (plus gas) during the full length of stay. Sorry, no partial days of boat rental. Sunnyside resort will rent boats for a couple of hours to a full day at about $200 day.
Cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and has been completely remodeled with an addition. Interior is finished in Northwoods motif and also features three HD LCD TV's all with DISH network and DVR. There is an Ipod docking station with radio for music. Located only 50 feet from the lake with a wall of windows providing excellent views.
The house is a family house and not a party house. We do have neighbors and I want to keep the peace with them and the county licensing authority. They require quiet time at 11 PM with no fires or loud music, etc after that time. It is a very nice house with everyone who has stayed there saying they would return.

Owner Description

Hi, my name is Chris and I am the owner of the Balsam lake Cabin you see here. We use it as a family gathering place as well as renting it out to other families. It originally was a one story three season cabin with uneven floors and 2 small bedrooms. What started out as a light remodeling job ended up being a complete renovation by jacking up the cabin and adding the walkout level, updating well, electrical, furnace and floor heat, adding a bedroom and bathroom, and just this year, building a boathouse with a rooftop deck. We are very proud of our accomplishments and have yet to have a disatisfied visitor after two years of renting it out. We hope you will like it too!
Why the Owner Chose Balsam Lake
Balsam Lake is the biggest lake in polk County and with its proximity to the minneapolis area (only one hour) we thought it would make a great investment. The lake turns out to be one of the best quality and best fishing lakes in the area. Added amenities such as Paradise Landing Resort and sunnyside Marina means you never have to leave the lake for entertainment, food, or gas.

My family recently rented this property for a week in August. Overall, everyone had a great time and agreed this rental property was a perfect choice. Upon arrival, the cabin was clean and inviting. Some areas of the cabin seemed to be newly remodeled and look great with “north woods” décor. We loved the layout of the cabin and did not have trouble sleeping six people. The kitchen was open and spacious and very nice. Dishes, utensils and other cookery were in full supply. The bathrooms were also clean and plenty of towels/linens provided. A great addition was the washer and dryer in the lower level. The property outside was perfect. In the back of the cabin, a small deck and grill provided a nice spot to hang out. The lakeside of the cabin was complete with a huge bonfire pit, a dock and plenty of chairs, and a picnic table. The deck currently being built will be a great addition to the property. We all loved the walkout from the basement of the cabin. The location of the cabin is great. It is located in a large, calm bay of the lake and many times we boated just in front of the cabin for swimming. The property is fairly close to Jonzy’s Market, a small convenience store with gas, ice, groceries, etc. Not too far is also the Blacksmith, a local bar with great pizza and cheap drinks! Both of these places are within a 10-minute drive from the cabin. We did not use the boat (provided at an extra cost) but it looked to be a large pontoon that would be perfect for cruising the lake with a lot of people. This is a nice addition to the rental property (we just happened to have a boat). Again, we thoroughly enjoyed our week at this rental property. I would highly recommend it to others. You can’t go wrong with a clean, beautiful property conveniently located on beautiful Balsam Lake!
