A smaller, third deck (8 X 12') is located on the second floor and overlooks the backyard and the lake frontage. This deck has the best view in the house and is ideal for sitting and reading a book, or having coffee in the morning from private kitchen!!!!

Our group had 6 adults and 4 kids from 18 months to 13 years. The house had everything we needed and worked out perfectly. The setup of the house allowed our son and his family to have the whole upstairs, which had 4 twins in one room for the kids, another bedroom for the adults, as well as a full bath, kitchen and living room with balcony. The first floor had the same features with one bedroom and our daughter and her boyfriend had a full bedroom in the basement. The living room on the first floor had plenty of room for everyone and opened to the full deck with table and grill. This setup really worked well to give each family a little privacy and still plenty of room to be together. Volleyball was a big hit and the court got used almost every day, plus we had a built in sandbox for the granddaughters. The view of the lake was beautiful and the kids even got to watch several hot air baloons sail low over the lake and land nearby one evening. We took turns using the canoe and the lake is very pretty for a paddle any time of the day. If you like fishing, talk to Jack about a charter, the guys all went out on a Sunday morning and we had a great time fishing for lake trout. My wife and I also fished with Jack later in the week for salmon and had a wonderful time in spite of not quite perfect weather. If you are not into the fishing, take advantage of the Nauti-Cat cruise. All 10 of us went on the cruise and it gives you a great trip as well as beautiful views of the bay. The house is in a great location with Traverse City only 5 or 6 miles away if you want to get downtown, but there is a shopping mall and access to almost any store you might need even closer. Jack is a great host and helped make our week very special with the fishing and cruise. If you are looking for a great place to stay that will nicely accomodate a fair number of people I would highly recommend that you contact Jack.

#1 - what a great landlord! #2 - the house was very clean and spacious and provided all the room that we needed. #3 - the area outside for boating and relaxing was just awesome. #4 - Ernie had a great time in the kennel/fenced yard. #4 - the restuarant stove/griddle in the downstairs kitchen was more fun then outdoor grilling. My family is definetly interested in going back next year and bringing another couple as we know they will enjoy too.... Thanks for a memorable vacation!

This house was perfect for our family of older young adults and one of their dogs! The master bedroom upstairs provided the perfect getaway for my husband when the card playing began! The best memory was the ride on Grand Traverse Bay! Thank you for providing our family with a forever memory of sharing a week together.

We had an amazing week. The home was very clean and we were incredibley pleased with the whole experience. We enjoyed reading and relaxing on the multiple decks while the kids played in the spacious yard or swam endlessly in the lake. My children loved watching all the activity on the lake, cooking marshmellows in the fire pit, and tubing around the lake. The cottage is so close to so many things - good restaurants, cute shopping downtown, etc.. We will definitely be back - a perfect fit for young and old!
