I brought five close friends down to Cartagena to ring in the new year and we stayed here. We had such a wonderful time. The apartment is absolutely marvelous. It's located right in the heart of the action in the old city. It's close to museums, restaurants and one of the City's most beautiful cities. The owners are a delight to work with and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. I couldn't give this place a higher recommendation. It's the first time I've been on vacation in an amazing place where I was always looking forward to getting back to my accommodation.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

I found this place for my family as they were coming down to Cartagena for Thanksgiving and the baptism our our triplets. It did not disappoint. The location of the apartment is perfect, and the place has spectacular views and access to all of the old city. Out the door is San Pedro Plaza, with Cafe San Pedro having probably the best pie de coco we could find. Everything is a short walk away. The apartment itself is well appointed and well done with the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms very confortable while at the same time being luxurious. The upstairs living room, bar, balconies and jacuzzi are fantastic for meeting up with friends as you plan your night, or if you just decide to hang out there all night. The apartment optimally sleeps 2 couples, but you could put some additional people in the living area without issue. Greg and Fanny were fantastic to deal with in every aspect, quickly turned around questions, and were extremely professional to deal with. The place also included Herman, a live-in concierge to help out with anything you needed from stocking the bar to directions/cabs, advice, and really whatever you need from a local in Cartagena. Herman is awesome and one of the best aspects of renting this place. (Thanks again Herman!). The only possible issue we could think of would be the number of stairs (about 90 to the top level). The apartment is pretty vertical and would be difficult for anyone that has difficulty with using stairs. This is pretty typical of any apartment like this in Cartagena, and we actually needed the workout considering all the excellent food we were able to find in the neighborhood. Again, can't go wrong here, and we will definitely stay here again if we get the opportunity.

Stop seaching.....this is the place to stay if you are planning on visiting Cartagena! The location is just perfect. You are a few short steps away from all the sights and all the action, but you are not affected by street noise. If you want to rest from a walking all day, the house will always be a short walk from wherever you are within the walled city. The house is fully remodeled and is very well decorated. The rooftop jacuzzi is great....it is spacious and offers incredible views. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms/showers are spacious. There is a washer and dryer in case you need to do laundry, and there is a caretaker available to meet your every need. There's even an incredible cook available to prepare your meals (at a very nominal fee). We usually eat out but her cooking was so good, we dined in everyday. The house was totally secure and our belongings were always safe. Finally, the owner is very helpful and easygoing. He points you in the right direction and then encourages you to really enjoy your stay. We can't wait to go back! This is the perfect place for singles, families, or couples.

We spent a week in early April at the spectacular "Casa del Capi" a wonderfully located and furnished 2-floor apartment across the beautiful San Pedro Claver cathedral. There was little left to desire once we were there: the place was spotless, clean, beautiful, with everything we needed or could ask for. The "mayordomo" (or keeper of the apartment) was a quiet, respectful, intelligent, helpful man who made our stay easy and comfortable. For very little per day, we hired a great cook who was engaging and cheerful and prepared for us local dishes like we asked her to. I recommend this place for families (with older children who understand balconies can be dangerous) or couples with friends/parents accompanying them who love tropical weather and hot, deliciously breezy, evenings. The views are beautiful, every landmark, every church, park, plaza is at most 2 blocks away... A wonderful getaway, thank you Captain and F, thank you A and U for a memorable stay.

I just stayed at the apartment in November. The apartment is stunning. Although the photo's on VRBO are great, they still don't do it justice. I had a feeling this would be the best place to stay, and I was right. It has everything you need for a stay of any length. There are 2 large balconies on the front side that overlook San Pedro Claver Square and Cathedral. The views are stunning. The back patio also has a view of the Cathedral and you can not imagine how beautiful it is sitting in the hot tub at night with that view. So much effort and care was put into building and decorating the place. You hardly want to leave, but have to because the neighborhood right outside the door is fantastic. Walk out of the front door and you are in the heart of it all. The entire walled city is in walking distance. The place was built for a sultan, and when you stay there you will feel like one. If you are lucky enough to get the master bedroom, (like I did) you will see what I mean. The housekeeping was great. The place was always cleaned up when we arrived back from a day out on the town. There were always fresh towels hanging in the bathrooms, and clean sheets on the bed. Greg himself is a great guy. He met us when we arrived at the apartment. We had a few drinks and he gave us an orientation of the city. His recommendations were spot on and he even went as far as arranging a private tour guide on our request. Communication with Greg was prompt and clear prior to our arrival as well as when we were in Cartagena. When we left our deposit was returned without any issue. Greg was a pleasure to do business with.

Just stayed at this great apartment in september!! The owner Greg is a great guy and the helper was absolutely awesome!! I had a blast and will be returning sometime if Greg will have me back. Not sure what to say, you won't be disappointed if you stay !!Place is big, beautiful and could not have a better location for views and proximinity to importnat locations in Cartagena!!

I could not have picked a better place in Cartagena to stay at. The place truly is spectacular and generous in its space, decor and proximity to all the best of Cartagena. It's the perfect place for a family vacation or a group of friends. Greg, the owner, is friendly, accomodating and genuine in his desire for you to have a wonderful time in the beautiful home he has created. If you have a desire to treat yourself to the best of things, this apartment should rank up there.

This place is exceptional and we highly recommend it for your stay in Cartagena. The description on the site and the pictures faithfully represent what must be one of the best places to stay in this wonderful city. Not only are the views awe inspiring but you are a short walk from the best places, including San Pedro Claver Cathedral, the Gold Museum, the Museum of the Inquisition, the Museum of Modern Art, and the port to the Rosario Islands, just to name a few. The caretaker is great and takes pain to not get in your way. Having done some comparison shopping, we do not think you can beat the price for what you get. Perhaps the only drawback is the kitchen, which sits off an internal patio and is not air-conditioned, so keep that in mind because Cartagena is hot. Nevertheless, hands down this is the place to stay and enjoy Cartagena de Indias!

I stayed in the apartment in June of 2008. The apartment is exceptional. Beautifully decorated and maintained. The housekeeper is a great guy and took fanstastic care of us. The pictures do NOT do the apartment justice. You could not ask for a better location, view, or service. The owners are also very flexible and easy to work with. A great apartment for your time in Cartagena.
