Last weekend of February still open (and weekends in March), so make your ski plans now! This is a really well maintained home right in Lake Harmony--so you'll be close to Big Boulder (and Jack Frost is across the main road).
We just redid both bathrooms so they are bright and clean--and we also put in a brand new kitchen (new cabinets, countertops, backsplash) with a new flat top stove (easy to keep clean!) We pride ourselves in keeping our properties in great condition so you won't have to worry about any unpleasant surpises!
Large and well maintained, the house is fully-equipped for your vacation needs. Six-person, covered, outdoor hot tub, large in-wall A/C unit to cool the entire upstairs (downstairs stays cool without A/C), two TVs with expanded cable and 30 digital music channels, broadband internet access (so bring your laptop), a large supply of DVDs and movie tapes, pool table, a full-size refrigerator on each floor (with a mini kitchen with sink next to the pool table room), a washer and dryer, and two romantic gas fireplaces for off season and winter renters. There is an upstairs deck with furniture and a downstairs covered patio. Plenty of windows in the living room/dining room, so it is always bright and airy. You don't have to worry about the weather - there's plenty to do at the house!
Lake Harmony is very convenient to Big Boulder and Jack Frost ski areas, has its own beach area (we supply 10 tags), and is also very close (within 2 miles) of H2OOO, the indoor water park at Split Rock, and the Galeria (movie theater, shops). We have a large circular drive (no longer permitted in Lake Harmony, but you'll appreciate not having to keep moving cars to get out), and we are close to the Lake Harmony restaurants and food store. You also can easily travel to Camelback, The Outlets, Mohegan Sun Casino (at Pocono Downs), Jim Thorpe or white water rafting on the Lehigh River--all are only about 30 minutes away. There is also horseback and bicycle riding (and rentals) in the area.
If you're just into a relaxing vacation---you can just hang out at the house. Have some quiet time on the deck with your coffee or cocktail, spend a lazy afternoon in the hot tub, play some pool, or just watch some of our many recent DVDs.
Pets are permitted with an additional security deposit. We are family-friendly - don't make Sparky stay home! Late checkout is sometimes available, especially on weekend rentals (but usually not in the summer). Sorry, no young groups, no proms, no high school graduation parties without adults staying, too.
All of our houses are set up so your party will not be "squeezed in". Because this house sleeps 12, we have a large dining room table that easily seats 8, with an additional side table for 4 nearby. You'll find many homes have only counter space for eating, since the dining room is being used for extra sofa beds or a pool table. We have seen houses that sleep 20 but only have 4 or 5 bedrooms and a table for 4. We don't look for the type of group that would be comfortable in that situation--we prefer families, "grown-ups", and groups or couples that often can't get away because they need some one to watch their pet.
We have an optional $100 cleaning fee. If you leave the house as clean as you received it, we do not charge you for cleaning. Hardly anyone has this money saving offer--all the realtors will automatically charge you for cleaning (in addition to other fees). Since we're in the area, we can check the house ourselves and save you the cleaning fee, which is sizable. (And all the cleaning supplies are at the house).The owner is almost always in the area and available to show you how to work everything in the house.

I forgot to put this in my review---this house as 2 full size refrigerators! That was so handy--we kept all our sodas, beer and bags of ice in the refrigerator next to the pool table room, and that left us plenty of room in the upstairs kitchen refrigerator.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Very nice house--we will be coming back in the summer

My sister had rented this house 2 years ago for skiing and recommended we meet there for a family reunion for Mother's Day since our family is all over the East Coast. I dealt with the organizing and renting---the owner Michael was friendly and very easy to work with. When we got to the house, my sister couldn't believe how changed it was from her last time there---the bathrooms are brand new and really nice. The kitchen was also new, and there were plenty of good pots, pans, serving bowls, etc. We had great weather, but the beach wasn't open yet--we walked around, played pool, went in the hot tub, and saw LOTS of deer and wild turkeys. We took the kids to the water park that is nearby (maybe a mile or 2 away)--you pass it on the way to the house. At night, we watched some movies--there are lots of them, and really recent ones, for the DVD players. We had a great time! We're planning now on coming back in the summer when the beach is open---the kids are already excited. Thank you, and you will hear from us soon.

Our family enjoyed our time at Lake Harmony (including the dog). The house had everything we needed. Enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and residents' beach at the lake. Very easy to get around the area. The guys went golfing; two in our group went horse back riding. Took the kids to Knoebel's Amusement Park about an hour away. Good family location. Owners are great to deal with. We would rent this property again.
