The weather in early fall is perfect, too--a little cool in the daytime, chilly at night---perfect for biking, hiking, cooking out on the deck! Treat yourself to a quick getaway!

We are only minutes (really!) from H20, the new indoor water park at Split Rock. Lake Harmony has plenty of activities close by---or just hang out at the house in the hot tub or playing pool. We have upgraded cable with HBO and a supply of DVDs and tapes in the house, too. Have a relaxing coffee or cocktail break on the deck while you watch the deer below in the yard. Perfect getaway--you have the convenience of being in Lake Harmony Estates, which is close to the slopes at Big Boulder and Jack Frost, plenty of restaurants and either local shopping or the Outlets. And you are less than 20 minutes from the Mohegan Sun Casino complex at Pocono Downs for a quick night out testing your luck! You will not be able to do everything you want in just a weekend!
Large and well maintained, the house is fully-equipped for your vacation needs. Six-person, covered, outdoor hot tub, pool table, three TVs with HBO and 30 digital music channels, a full-size refrigerator on each floor (with a wet bar next to the pool table room), and two romantic gas fireplaces are just some of the amenities included. You don't have to worry about the weather - there's plenty to do at the house!
Pets are permitted with an additional security deposit. We are family-friendly - don't make Sparky stay home! Late checkout is sometimes available, especially on weekend rentals. Please inquire when making your reservation. Also, please check the calendar for availability (We hold many dates with only a 25% deposit). Sorry, no young groups, no proms unless Mom & Dad are willing to sign the lease. We don't just rent to everyone who inquires--we keep our properties in working condition---no broken cue sticks, hot tub clean and ready to go each rental, no being the unlucky party after the real "party" rental.
All of our houses are set up so your party will not be "squeezed in". Because this house sleeps 12, we have a large dining room table that easily seats 8, with an additional side table for 4 nearby. You'll find many homes have only counter space for eating, since the dining room is being used for extra sofa beds or a pool table. (Please don't inquire to squeeze in larger groups, though.) And if you want to see deer, this is the place! Without fail, every day they will wander through the yard. You can feed them from the upstairs deck or even by hand if you're more daring. We recommend you bring a box of saltines---that way you'll have about 200 pieces to toss to them---you'll need it!
It's great to have the deck off the living room/dining area so you have a private place for coffee in the AM or a romantic outdoor dinner. There are stairs down to the ground (which you'll know is very convenient). And there is a new stainless steel gas grill on the deck---we constantly update all of our furniture and appliances. We restock, replace, repair and repaint regularly, so your vacation will not be marred by missing or inadequate supplies. The owner is almost always in the area and available to show you how to work everything in the house.
The downstairs patio has a picnic table and the hot tub, which is clean and operating year round. The patio is covered, so you can use the hot tub regardless of the weather, too. Sitting in an outdoor hot tub in the winter can be fun and romantic----in the snow or cold rain--not so much!
We have an optional $85 cleaning fee. If you leave the house as clean as you received it, we do not charge you for cleaning. Hardly anyone has this money saving offer--all the realtors will automatically charge you for cleaning (in addition to other fees). Since we're in the area, we can check the house ourselves and save you the cleaning fee, which is sizable. (And all the cleaning supplies are at the house).
We have rented several homes in the Poconos for 10 years now, can offer you a great deal since we got in early. This is not the most ultra modern chalet, but it is very nicely maintained, well situated, and not set up to cram in as many people as possible to pay a gigantic mortgage. We have seen houses that sleep 20 but only have 4 or 5 bedrooms and a table for 4. We don't look for the type of group that would be comfortable in that situation--we prefer families, "grown-ups", and even (or especially) groups or couples that often can't get away because they need some one to watch their pet---we have found pet owners to be more responsible than many other groups! We also allow smokers (which are much rarer nowadays) because we have found them to also be responsible--many groups have the smokers go on the outside deck or patio (or they self-police themselves), so please do not be afraid that there are pet or smoke odors in our houses--we own a carpet shampooer and do each house at least 2x a year---trust me, nobody does that! And WE check the houses between rentals, not a rental agent.
