Welcome to our piece of paradise, "HEAVEN ON EARTH" as some of our guests put it.
This unique, luxury handcrafted log cabin is situated directly on bold, Big Snowbird Creek. Our 1200 feet of pristine private creek frontage is a fisherman's paradise. The creek has native brown, rainbow and brook trout, and to add to the enjoyment we have stocked the creek for the past three years. The water literally boils with fish when you throw trout food in. (and we provide the trout food they love to eat! - we ask you catch and release)
When you walk into the great room with its soaring 25' ceiling and massive rock floor to ceiling fireplace you will know you have arrived...Big Snowbird Paradise. Our decor is rustic comfortable luxury.
The wraparound deck boasts many seating areas, a variety of outdoor cooking apparatuses, an outdoor shower and luxurious hot tub are all there for your enjoyment. As you will see we have carefully placed all so you can take in the beautiful creek only 15 feet from you! What better place can you imagine opening a book while enjoying privacy and only the sounds of nature? Or, open your laptop while outside while using our Wireless Internet. Inside we also have a full set up of DSL, computer, and printer. (Oh, and let me mention, long distance is free to the US and Canada, so feel free to call your friends and family and let them know what paradise feels like!)
Our creek offers many swimming holes for both children and adults. For the more adventurous, try paddling around in one of our Funyaks, or just tube if you like.
For those who would like to spend a day on beautiful Lake Santeetlah, with over 100 miles of shorline and 80% undeveloped, just 10 minutes from the cabin, we have arranged a 10% discount with Deyton Boat Rentals. You can rent pontoon boats, ski boats, jet skis and fishing boats. (If you are interested in hiring a fishing guide, ask us, we have many suggestions)
Biking is available at Tsali Trails, Fontana Trails and at the end of our road which is in the US Forest Service Land, where you can ride a rugged mountain trail. If you prefer hiking this is a wonderful trail that leads to 4 majestic waterfalls: Sassafrass Falls, Lower Falls, Middle Falls and Upper Falls, all come from the head waters of Big Snowbird Creek. (You will need to pack a lunch, ask us for information.)
Don't miss Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest only 10 minutes from our cabin, that takes you on a journey through towering Poplar Trees as old as 400 years old. There are several trails to hike there.
If you enjoy 4 wheeling, there are many trails you can ride close to the cabin including
Squally Creek, Little Snowbird trails up to Cold Springs Gap, Buffalo Creek and Huffmans Creek, so bring along your 4 wheeler and ask us about the trails.
If you want to go Whitewater Rafting, you can take your family to the Nantahala River. The more experienced can schedule a ride on the newly opened Cheoah River with class 5 rapids, right here in Robbinsville.
Other ventures could include, visiting the Cherokee Indian Reservation Museums or theatrical performance "Unto These Hills", or visit the Casino. Hop on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad for a scenic ride or dinner train.
You can also take a day to visit Gatlinberg, TN or Asheville, NC both 2 hours from the cabin.
Motorcyclists are welcome as we have abundant parking for your Trailers and have paved access right to our driveway. The Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway are minutes away.
As night falls, you can still enjoy the creek as our dusk to dawn lights automatically light up the creek. Wander over to our creek lit, creekside Log Pavillion for a memorable bonfire or some good ol' smores.
When it is time for you to leave, you will be taking home a piece of paradise from our magical Log Home on Big Snowbird Creek for a lifetime of memories! See you soon!

One word can describe your "amazing" cabin WOW!!!!! We spent the first 3 hours repeating the phrase - "Hey ya'll, look at this!" It is the most beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable place we have ever been. We rode the "Dragon" twice and visited Fontana Dam on our Bilkes then rushed back to the cabin to relax. We had the "Best times of our lives!" Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. See you next year!

What a terrific place-every detail thought out-every luxury imaginable. What a joy to sip coffee, watching the trout, listening to the brook. The kitchen was such a treat--spices & cleaning supplies fully stocked. We had a week of relaxing and laughing with family and friends -a welcome retreat from the sizzling Mississippi summer - and to arrive in town to find a horse parade! We were here to bike, read, rest and refuel for a year of fast paced life of raising and teaching teenagers. The twins who are 16 we didn't expect to love anything fell in love with the cabin and the creek and tubed in it and skipped rock, and we ate dinner in the picnic area, finishing off the night with smores and movies. You have created a wonderful escape! We hiked Snowbird & Joyce Kilmer, walked the road, soaked our toes and worries and listened to God! Thanks so much!

Thanks for a week of retreat and renewal. The cabin is a peaceful place with wonderful charm and nestled near the creek. The creek has crystal clear, cool water rushing against rock, outersprings and waterfalls. The trout in the creek have a way of quieting the mind and awakening the awareness of the great outdoors. The cabin by the creek is a magical and peaceful place where the wildlife was our entertainment. This trip was a welcome change where we found relief from our jobs, lives and the world.
