Merry Mermaid is an awesome Family Retreat located in WaterColor’s beautiful Camp District, right next to the Camp WaterColor pool, playground and Wood Fern Park. You can watch your kids play on the playground while relaxing on one of our porches. This large 3,162 square foot custom-designed home is beautifully decorated and filled with original artwork. It has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths and sleeps up to 14 people. The WaterColor community has 5 pools, a beach club, 4 bikes onsite for your use, and access to the boathouse where you can use fishing equipment and kayaks.
Porches: Two wonderful porches on the front (upstairs and downstairs). The downstairs porch features a “swinging bed” that is perfect for lounging plus other seating. Also, a teak dining table that will seat 6-8. The upstairs porch features two “swinging beds” and other comfortable lounging chairs.
First Floor: Living room offers lots of cozy, comfortable seating as well as a 52” TV with stereo, DVD, etc. Wireless access is available Beautiful and original artwork. Dining area has an 11 foot dining table that can seat up to 14 people. A breakfast bar with 5 stools is adjacent to the table. Lots of room for dining together. The kitchen is equipped with all stainless steel appliances, concrete and stone countertops, copper farm sink and beautifully glazed custom cabinets. Tons of storage space for groceries. Wet bar area has icemaker, copper bar sink and glass cabinets. Laundry room with front loading washer and dryer, utility sink plus a beverage refrigerator. Master Bedroom features a king size bed with 32” plasma TV, and wonderful relaxing bathroom with custom slate floors, stone countertops with double sinks, over-sized soaking tub and steam shower finished with river rock. 7. Half bath with unique, mosaic vessel sink off of living room.
Second Floor: Kids’ den features a comfortable sofa, lounging chairs for the kids and pillows galore. TV/DVD entertainment center with a Playstation II. Great extra space for the kids or adults. Bunk Room features all built-in beds: 4 twins and 2 doubles that will accommodate eight kids. There is a TV/DVD in the room and each bed has its’ own cubby and light. Bunk Bathroom features a cozy dressing area, walk-in shower with rain shower head, hooks galore and beautiful concrete countertop. Cubby Room has eight separate “locker/cubby” areas - perfect for the kids to unpack. Study/desk area has bookcases and serves as a perfect space for setting up your computer. Master Bedroom has king size bed with 27” TV/DVD. Master bath has oversized shower, Jacuzzi air tub, double sinks with lots of counter space and cabinetry. Double Bedroom equipped with two double beds and 27” TV/DVD. Bathroom with shower and beautiful custom mosaic mirror.
Outside Patio: Rectangular table for 6-8 with umbrella. Gas grill and area for cooking outside. Covered outdoor shower area. Bike rack with 8 bikes for your use (four 26” bikes, two 24” bikes and two 20” bikes).

My family and I had a vey poor experience during our stay at this home. When we arrived, the home was not ready even though we arrived after check in time. The home was not clean in all areas,the trash cans outside were full of trash and overflowing, the kitchen utensils, pots and pans were dirty and still had "food" on them The stove was dirty and caked with grease, several light bulbs were burnt out or missing. The TVs remotes did not work in all of the TVS & had to call maintenance people to fix which they couldn't. The worst experience we had was with the dishwasher. It did not have hot water running through it. The entire inside was full of grime and MOLD.... and it leaked all over the kitchen floor. We called maintenance to fix it and were told it had to be replaced but couldn't replace it for 14 days. Our stay was only for 7 days. Finally after 3 days of hand washing all of our dishes, we were told that a new dishwasher would be installed. When we arrived back at the house (after dinner) the old dishwasher was still there and a replacement loaner was installed in the laundry room in front of the washer & dryer. There was no explanation and this was not a remedy to our problem. The laundry room was not even close to the kitchen!!!!! I have never heard of such a thing. Now we could not even use the washer & dryer and we are at the beach with 3 children..... For the amount that we were being charged, this was not acceptable. In addition a home was being built across the street and every AM before 7:30 hammer, saws and loud shouting could be heard. When we requested that they begin work a bit later in the AM, we were told nothing could be done about this. I don't know if the owner was ever aware of these problems, as we rented through the WaterColor Resort, but there was no attention paid to our very serious problems and never any follow up calls to see if the problems had been resolved. This was our first time in this home and I would never reccomend it to any family. The bunk beds in the bunk room are very dangerous (no rails). In fact someone wrote in the guest book that they fell off. Apparently the owner does not make regular visits to this home to verify the quality and upkeep & relies on the Resort to handle it. What a huge mistake!!! I feel sorry for the people who were booked right after our stay, what a surprise to enter a home and find a replacement dishwasher in the laundry room!!!! I hope that I receive a response.
Owner response:We are so sorry that our house did not meet your vacation expectations. Watercolor Rental Agency has been renting our house for the past four years and we have never received anything but glowing comments and compliments from our guests. They are a luxury rental company that will go to great lengths to accommodate our guests but sometimes things happen that are beyond our control. The high-end dishwasher we had was faulty which was not detectable until it was broken. Unfortunately, a new, permanent replacement took a few days to be installed. Watercolor did offer to hand wash your dishes on a daily basis but it seemed that you preferred the temporary dishwasher. This was placed in the only location available. Also, you were given a very generous discount for your inconveniences. As owners, we take enormous pride in our house and have gone to great lengths to maintain and update our house. In fact, we have many repeat guests that ask for and reserve our house a year in advance. We vacation there often to confirm that our house is well taken care of. We have addressed any issues and hope that this does not occur again. We apologize greatly for your inconveniences. Feel free to contact us if you should have any questions.

Our family has rented in Watercolor each summer since 2002 or 3 and in Seaside from 1995 to 2002. This is the best all around house we have stayed in. Beautiful; comfortable; and kids loved their play area and bunkroom. The green spaces and pool pools were close to the house. Publix was very close so that was convenient when we needed anything. Bike riding was lots of fun.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
