My wife and I travelled to Spain for a wonderful vacation at Casa Mirador (April 2011). Hard to believe but the place is prettier in person. The house is large, comfortable, and inviting. Although it was just the two of us, there is a wonderful downstairs area that would be great for families with children (i.e. playstation, movies, etc). The view and the pool area are wonderful (heated pool). I enjoyed cooking bbq's by the pool and long relaxing afternoons. Great butcher shops in town. Truthfully, I enjoyed staying by the pool more so than the beaches. Sa Riera is a close beach. Begur is close by as well. I enjoyed the proximity of Begur and wandering the quaint streets of Begur. The people of Begur (esp. the Tapas Bar) were very welcoming and warm. I had planned on travelling all over northeast Spain (like Girona, etc.) but once I started relaxing at Casa Mirador and Begur - I pretty much enjoyed my time staying in the immediate area (never went to Girona). I let the comfortable pace of Begur and the area dictate my vacation pace. Again, it was a wonderful trip. Also, Christina Rogers and her contacts in Begur were fantastic in terms of personal contact and follow up (i.e. providing maps and assistance). Vacances de la Toussaint sur la Costa Brava

Nous avons passé une semaine fin Octobre 2010 (pendant les vacances de la Toussaint) à la Casa Mirador. Nous étions 3 familles (6 adultes et 6 enfants de 16 à 9 ans), et nous avons passé une semaine très agréable. La maison est spacieuse, confortable et joliment meublée, bien que simplement. Elle est bien chauffée et les quelques petits problèmes qui sont survenus ont été résolus rapidement grâce à la présence sur place d'un agent immobilier qui connait bien la maison. La région recèle beaucoup de sites touristiques d'intérêt et de possibilités de promenades, indiqués dans une abondante documentation présente dans la maison. Il y a très peu de touristes à cette période (pas de vacances cette semaine-là certainement dans les autres pays Européens), ce qui était un avantage à nos yeux. Cependant, en conséquence, beaucoup de restaurants, de lieux touristiques et de loisirs sportifs sont fermés. Nous avons malgré cela trouver à nous occuper sans aucun mal. Nous avons bénéficié d'un temps clément, de beaucoup de soleil et les plus téméraires d'entre nous se sont baignés dans la piscine chauffée et/ou dans la mer à plusieurs reprises. En conclusion, nous recommendons la location de Casa Mirador en Octobre!

"My husband and I stayed at Casa Mirador for a week at the end of May 2010, with our married children, spouses and five grandchildren aged 6, 5, 4, 3 and 1. The villa was absolutely great. The house & kitchen were very well equipped and every room had a super view down the valley to the sea. The photos in the description were a true & accurate portrayal of the setting. The pool was the centre of our activity (we paid a small additional charge to have it heated in early summer) and we ate most of our meals on the terrace. The BBQ was well used. We found the whole area around Begur to be charming. Begur itself is delightful with a mixture of modern amenities and old world charm. A quiet drink in the square listening to the local band on a Sunday night is not to be missed (after a streuous walk up to the castle!). We found a car very useful, enabling us to visit many of the delightful small coves & beaches to be found within a 10 minute drive. The facilities at the coves were good, ranging from a basic beach cafe to classy restaurants. After many visits to the more popular areas of Spain, we realise that Begur is a hidden gem and will certainly be returning to Casa Mirador. "

"Spacious villa with great views" "We arrived at Casa Mirador & immediately felt at home. The views from all the rooms were fantastic & absolutely breathtaking from the living room & dining area. You could just sit on the sofa & look down the valley towards the bay. The house is suitable for 2 families who want their own space as it is arranged as 2 separate living areas upstairs & down except for a shared spacious kitchen on the upper floor. There is room for both families to eat upstairs & plenty of sofas for both upstairs too. The pool was lovely, again with the same great view. We have 3 young children & they were safe in the house as it is secure.There is a stairgate. We strongly recommend staying here & we would visit again."

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Begur. Casa Mirador is a well maintained,stunning villa which is very well equipped with everything you need. Inside the villa is very spacious and there was plenty of room for our party of 4 adults and 3 children.The decor and furniture is modern and the villa was spotlessly clean for our arrival,the welcome basket was also a lovely touch.The heated pool was a huge bonus and our children had a great time in it. Begur itself is a stunning place with many beautiful beaches and plenty of places to eat out. A car is a must to fully explore the area. Begur itself is a quiet, laid back place which made our holiday very relaxing. There are many busy places up and down the coast within a 20 minute drive which were great to visit and then return to the peace and quiet of Begur. The villa owners were incredibly helpful and the information pack sent to us before we left included easy to follow directions from the airport and loads of information about places to visit. We cannot rate this villa and area highly enough, the only down side was that we had to come home.

Very well appointed villa with superb views and in an excellent location for touring the many small and picturesque coves along this section of the Costa Brava. Upper floor and balcony is ideal for a toddler to explore without risk. Excellent pool and plenty of activities, even if you are unlucky with the weather. Local agent is also very friendly and helpful. We will return!

We loved being in your house. It is beautiful and very comfortable with a splendid view and lots of privacy. The consequent furnishing in white and blue gives a mediterranean feeling. The beds are super, we all slept very well. The kids loved the playstation and all the board games they found in the closet. But most of all they loved the pool. The water in the pool was at a very fine temperature! Our kids and my husband love to swim but the weather at the end of April is not alway reliable so a heated pool was one of our demands. We had a wonderfull week in your house and I want to thank you for that. We did also appreciate a lot the extensive welcome packet you send us by post and the touristic information that is available in the house. Same for the 'survival packet' that welcomes you on arrival. Vacation really does start with those little things!

Our first visit to Casa Mirador In early April, during the school Easter holidays, our extended family decided to rent a villa in Catalonia for our first visit to Spain. This villa was Casa Mirador near the ancient hill town of Begur. We couldn’t have chosen better. One look at the view from any of the windows showed a panorama of blue and green—sky, the Mediterranean, and those rounded pine trees you find in that climate. There were eight of us, and using all of the five bedrooms, we were able to accommodate our doubles & singles which we required. There were 3 bathrooms, again necessary for large mixed groups. The house was huge, with plenty of space to spread out and have a quiet time if you wanted. We enjoyed the music system, with a large choice of cds, and books to read. Games and toys in the lower living room provided hours of fun for our 4 year old grandson. The kitchen was roomy enough and certainly well equipped. The balcony overlooking the pool was used daily, and although it was early in the year, the younger members in the group took a dip. They also played table tennis in the garage. We managed to squeeze in a lot of sightseeing between us, including: Girona, Barcelona, 3 beaches, 2 other old hill towns (Pals & Peratellada), and several trips to La Bisbal to buy pottery. Even without the car, it’s a lovely area for walking, also, shopping and the park in Begur is within reach. An experience I am assured not to be missed (we baby-sat), was the late evening fiesta on Maundy Thursday in nearby Verges of the Festival of the Dead, attracting over a thousand visitors. We definitely will return to Casa Mirador—a place to relax and enjoy living!

We were looking for accommodation for a large group of friends to enjoy a diving holiday. We decided on Casa Mirador based on the information given on Owners Direct web site. The villa was exactly as described and very comfortable for a large group with plenty of comfortable seating in the lounge, large dining table and an extremely well equipped kitchen. Having heating in the pool was a huge bonus as the sun is quite low in the sky at the end of the summer. The views from the terrace are fantastic and a great setting for an alfresco breakfast. It was nice to be close enough to walk into Begur for an evening drink in the square. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this villa for a party of up to 10 people. There were 12 in our party and we used the sofa bed in the downstairs lounge which meant that 2 people did not have as much privacy, we did not have a problem with this but it might not suit everyone.

Casa Mirador is a stunning property with an equally amazing view to match. It is especially well located for the nearby Sa Riera which is one of the nicest beaches on the coast and the upmarket old town of Begur. Above all, the ready advice and help of the owners was second to none.

We enjoyed our stay, everything was fantastic! We have travelled between Begur, Torroella de Montgri, Tossa de Mar, Girona, the mountain of El Angels, Cadaques, Pals, Peratallada, La Bisbal, all the beaches and mostly all by bicycle. We would go back to Casa Mirador anytime believe me! It was everything we’ve imagined and more!
