Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
My husband and I raised our 3 boys in this house. They grew up with the beach in their front yard and the woods in their back. It was like a private little paradise nestled here on the coast. 2 years ago when we began to realize that we would soon be kid-less, we decided to turn our home into a vacation rental. Now other families are able to enjoy what we always have. And our boys and their future families can come home any time and even stay in their own rooms. Hope you will come stay with us soon. Bob and Dolores Troendle
Why the Owner Chose Brookings
Our 3 sons are all grown now and the home is too big for us. We have enjoyed the beach here for years and everyone that has ever visited us has said what a wonderful vacation place. So now you have it, a wonderful place for a family vacation.

The Port of Brookings is only 5 miles away for those who want to charter a boat or just go through our shops or take in a wonderful meal at one of the local restaurants. You also can enjoy a delicious bar-b-q right here while you watch the sunset. In the winter the storms are magnificent and in January and February you can watch the whales migrating. Unbelievably wonderful. We were so impressed with the property, the amenities and the property management. We had 24 people and rented both properties (pelican cove and beachfront). Private, beautiful and spacious - - it was perfect. Also, easy beach access, plenty of room and safe environment for the 11 children we had too. We will return for sure, one of our best vacation spots yet.

The house was very nice. The owners were very helpful in answering all my many questions. We would really like to come back to this house for the next retreat in October. I would recommend this house to any and all who are looking for that special place to relax, have fun, walk the beach and reflect.

We rented this home for my youngest brother's wedding on June 6th, 2010. They wanted to be married on the ocean as they both love the ocean and his bride is Hawaiian. There were eight of us that stayed at the house and a small group of friends that came for the wedding. Never once did we feel crowded, from baking the wedding cake (yep ! it was small) to finding privacy for my 91 year old Grandmother who rests frequently. This home was the perfect fit for us. Even though there was light rain during the wedding, we were quite comfy on the beautiful deck ! The view of the ocean was amazing. The owners of this home are so nice and accomodating ! My Mom lost her cell phone and they found it at the house and sent it back to her ! This home is clean, comfortable and relaxing. We will be back and I am sure my brother and his new wife will be back for their anniversary ! Oh when we had the wedding announcement picture for the newspaper the gals in the office thought it was Hawaii ! :-)

We spent a wonderful 3 nights in this house for our parents 40th wedding anniversary! Great place to be, fishing, running in the waves, flying kites and even tasting the local brandy. This home was very accomidating for our large family and friendly for all ages, with a view from every room. Looking forward to doing it again. Thanks so much.
Owner response:We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Hope you come back soon. Thank you, Dolores
