My husband and I recently enjoyed our honeymoon in Kauai. Our stay was absolutely amazing and our accommodations at Puu Poa 204 were outstanding! The condo is extremely spacious and clean. The best part of waking up in the very comfortable King bed was the ability to look out the window at the breathtaking Pacific Ocean. The sun and living room provided us with ample space to relax and watch TV. We spent many nights sitting on the Lanai, watching the sunset or just relaxing to the waves of the ocean. The condo is conveniently located in a quiet area of Princeville. It is within walking distance of many delicious restaurants at the St. Regis hotel who host a delicious breakfast buffet in addition to quick access to a grocery store. You are also within a short driving distance of Hanalei Bay which provided us with excellent restaurant choices, more beaches to explore, and boutiques. There are numerous beaches located nearby; however, if you decide to take the trail to the more exclusive beach near the condo, prepared to be amazed. The scenery is like something out of a movie. You feel like you could be experiencing one of the most beautiful places in the world. We have already recommended this condo to family and friends and can’t wait to come back here ourselves!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Our family of four loved our stay at Puu Poa. The view from the patio is breathtaking, the condo was clean, comfortable and well stocked with beach gear. The beds are VERY comfortable and the master bath is really nice with a deep tub and double shower. Hideaways Beach below was our favorite in Kauai ...with excellent snorkeling and calm waters for the kids. Thank you John and Kevin for sharing your place....it was a wonderful experience. We hope to come back soon!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Mahalo Lauren and family, We are so glad that you enjpyed your vacation in paradise as much as we do. Maybe next time you can come back in the winter or spring. It is a thrill to watch the whales jumping in the ocean right in front of our lanai. Aloha, Kauai Kevin Puu Poa 204

We knew that had arrived someplace special when we turned in by the beautiful fountain at the entrance to Princeville. It was just like in the recent movie, "The Descendants" (which was filmed here in Princeville and nearby Hanalei. As we drove down the road and saw Puu Poa condos sparkling on the cliff side, with Bali Hai and sunset on the Pacific Ocean, we thought that it has to be one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Once inside Puu Poa 204, our amazement continued to grow. The condo is very large, spacious and well laid out, with spectacular ocean views from throughout. The decor and artwork were also very special- unlike any other vacation rental property that we have ever visited. The location was also perfect for many activities such as first class golf, tennis and the beaches nearby have to be among the best in all the islands. Kevin was very helpful in suggesting hikes, horseback riding and other not to miss entertainment choices. The condo was very clean, and we really felt at home- hated to leave! We would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to spend a fantastic holiday in a very beautiful place!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your great review, Sue. We are very glad that you had a wonderful time on the Garden Island of Kauai. We agree that Puu Poa is perfectly located in a magical place, and it is a fantastic setting for enjoying the best of Hawaii. Mahalo, Kevin

We just returned from Kauai after a beautiful 2 weeks in Kauai. We started our adventures at Kevins Beautiful home in Princeville. I would have to say that Kevin was very accomodating with assisting us with scheduling our perfect week in Princeville. The pictures and the desctiption of the condo was just like Kevin said it would be. I would highly suggest the Blue Dolphin for the best sushi ever. The beaches are so beautiful it was hard to say what one was my favorite. All I know is that I am back on the main land with wonderful memories to cherish forever.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Enjoyed our stay at your unit very much. As we arrived, a very lovely Hawaiian couple were just completing their clean and said to call if anything needed attention. There was no reason. Everything was great and anything you might need from kitchen to beach was available. The ocean view, even sitting in the living room, reminds us of being on a cruise. We have stayed at PuuPoa before and prefer the second floor as you are not looking down on other units. We will return to Kauai and our first choice will be Puu Poa 204Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

This condo is in a fantastic location and has one of the most amazing views you could hope to have. The condo is spacious and bright and the lanai is extremely large. It's quiet and very private and we enjoyed spending many hours watching the waves and surfers. The kitchen is very well stocked and we got everything we needed at the supermarket in the Princeville Center. Everything you need for the beach is provided - snorkel gear, boogeyboard, coolers, beach totes, beach towels etc. You can hike down a steep trail right next to the condo to the Hideaways beach for the best snorkeling or walk down to the beach at the St. Regis as well. Hanalei Bay is a quick drive away as well. We used the tennis court a lot as rackets and balls were also provided in the unit. The swimming pool was clean a great way to cool down. Our favorite thing was relaxing and hanging out on the lanai. We also enjoyed using the grill for most of our dinners. It felt like a second home and didn't want to leave. We would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so glad that you had a wonderful time in our favorite place in the world. It is rewarding to be able to share our home with people that appreciate it as much as we do. Hopefully, you will think of us again on your next trip back to the Garden Island of Kauai. The whales will be arriving soon! Mahalo Nui Loa, Kevin

The location was good for our visit.Love the North Shore. The photos showed the overall nice condo. But I must warn people there is a serious mold problem in the kitchen.I could smell it the moment I walked in. Under the cabinets on the wall.Permiating all thoes cabinets and the items inside. This is unexceptable. This is the condo we stayed, in, no confusion.I had seen a review earlier about this same issue the owner stated the reviewer, was mixed up with the condo This is the condo. Why would they not take care of this problem? I think the faucet is leaking behind the granite counters. When I stay in a rental I expect at least the same cleanliness of my own home. No AC, so it would be 80 degrees at night, the ceiling fan in the guest rm broke and not a convient nearby person for repairs which didn't happen. When the rental is this high it should be top notch. The furnishings were good a little over board with the fake flowers, and fancy carved wood furniture cushions covered in plastic. Who would sit on that! They just need to CLEAN it up, and some AC.Owner response: I've been in the hospitality industry for over 35 years, and once in a while you run into a customer that is impossible to please I've also been sharing my home as a vacation rental for about a dozen years, and this guest's comments came as a total shock. Every other guest has only had the highest compliments and given 5 star ratings. This includes 64 other reviews on this website, 30 on another travel review website and many more in the in our personal guest book. This guest contacted me by phone to report that the ceiling fan in the 2nd bedroom had broken. I had an electrician come the next morning and he determined that the fan had been damaged and had to be replaced. It was a designer quality fan and it took 6 days to get the replacement installed. I told her that besides 5 other ceiling fans in the condo, there were 3 floor model fans also in the condo. I disagree with how the guest presents her mold claims. She did not mention this at all when I talked to her on the phone. There is also a number for guests to call for any housekeeping issues, but she did not mention the problem until she wrote the review. I had just spent a month and a half in my home and repainted the entire condo just a couple of weeks before this guest. My house keeper investigated and discovered that the kitchen sink spray nozzle had been pulled out of socket, and that it was leaking heavily and there were some mold spots starting to grow on the wall. This was a very recent, first time development. It doesn't take long for things to grow in the tropics. We immediately fixed the faucet , used treatment and re-painted the area. Her comments that she read about mold problems in previous guest comments are totally false. There have never been any such claims or comments, and all reviews for past years are still posted. It is hurtful to see such defamatory comments posted, but when it is one person out of 100, it is obviously a solo opinion. The guests immediately before and after her left 5 Star rave reviews, and we are accustomed to having guests that love our little piece of paradise as much as we do. Rest assured that her opinion is unique and our condo home is in top shape and very much appreciated by more than 100 other guests. Mahalo and much Aloha, Kevin

Dealing with Kevin in making reservations was a breeze. You’re never quite sure if the photos of the accommodations match the reality, but this condominium did not disappoint. From the etched glass front door to the openness of the condo that affords fantastic views of the expanding ocean, I was hooked! The condo was clean and the furniture on the lanai was very comfortable. A great way to start the day is having breakfast and coffee on the lanai. Some of the features I liked in the condo is the open shower in the master bathroom, a washer and dryer in the unit, a computer on the premises, and the full kitchen which made it easy to cook indoors and save on restaurant bills. The Princeville area is beautiful and within walking distance of the St. Regis Hotel. There is public access to the beach located in front of the hotel that is a great place to snorkel. The fact that snorkeling gear and other beach items are made available at the condo is a plus. We took a trek down the steep pathway to Hide Away Beach and I recommend you not carry too many items with you. If you like being pampered I highly recommend booking a massage at the Westin Hotel. Food Mart in the Princeville Shopping Center is conveniently located and a stop at Lappert’s Ice Cream is a must. Hanalei Bay is beautiful and the downtown area has many shops and restaurants (I loved Bubba Burgers). On the way back to Princeville, after driving to the far west end of the island, we stopped at Tunnels Beach, which was very relaxing and has a food truck on the grounds. My only regret is not having time to visit Waimea Canyon, which is a perfect excuse to return to Kauai and when I do I hope Kevin’s condo is available. Mahalo, Kevin, for sharing your lovely home!Owner response: Aloha Paula and Family, Thank you very much for your kind review. We are so glad that you loved Kauai, and Puu Poa 204 as much as we do. It's my favorite place is the world, and we feel very lucky to be able to share it with others. Hope to have you come back to explore the many, many spectacular hidden gems of the Garden Island again soon! Mahalo, Kevin

We spent a week in March at Puu Poa, and this place has it all. The location is fabulous, just minutes from Princeville with its restaurants and shopping. Also very near Hanalei, which we visited almost every day. The views are amazing and we saw many whales jumping and several rainbows. We were more than impressed with all the extras Kevin had at the condo: beach chairs, games, books, snorkel gear, etc. It was really nice to have a fully stocked kitchen so we didn't have to eat out every day. And being able to do laundry was a bonus. We utilized the tennis courts and the swimming pool. This is the kind of place you would never have to leave, but if you did, you'd have many many options for things to do. We highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We unfortunately have nothing but great things to say about this wonderful condo. I'm afraid everyone is going to start booking it and we will have to fight to get a week the next time we are in Kauai. The property owners were very easy to deal with and we had no problems during our stay. We have 3 daughters ages 11-13 and there was plenty of space for them to spread out and chill. The views were magical and condo was quiet at night even though it was July 4th week and the windows were all open. We will definitely stay again when we find ourselves back in Kauai.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
