Welcome to our cottage ... aptly named Livin' the Dream! Peaceful, tranquil, restful and relaxing describe the atmosphere at Livin' the Dream, a quaint and cozy 2 bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, 2 lofts and a huge covered deck with hammocks and hanging chairs overlooking the crystal Sea of Abaco. Situated on nearly 2 acres, the cottage is out of site of any neighbors. The 500 foot winding drive will bring a smile to your face as you arrive at the cottage which sits directly on the Sea of Abaco. The southern exposure affords breathtaking sunrise views and the night sky is so clear, you'll be amazed at all the stars. From the deck, you can even see the spinning light from the Hope Town Light House.
With prevailing winds out of the East, Livin' the Dream typically enjoys tranquil breezes and calm seas. There's a sundeck that hangs over the Sea. When tides allow, lower a ladder from the sun deck for swimming and snorkeling right in the back yard.
For beachcombers, a brief 5 minute walk will lead you to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Abaco. Sea treasures abound on miles of pristine secluded beaches where seldom you will see another soul.
While at Livin' the Dream, your type of relaxation is up to you. Hang out at the cottage and pass time reading, soaking in the sun, resting in hammock or just by doing nothing. Or if you'd like a little more adventure, you have everything you need on the island from a full-service marina at Orchid Bay, to boat and golf cart rentals, a dive shop complete with guided diving and snorkeling tours, a grocery store, a hardware store and your choice of various restaurants, from casual sit-down dining to fun and funky beach bars.
Great Guana Cay is just a 30 minute ferry ride from Marsh Harbour. So time your flight arrival according to the ferry schedule. Be sure to stop in for a Tailcurler, a delightfully sweet rum concoction, at Curly Tails while waiting for your ferry! My husband and I stayed at Livin' the Dream for 8 lovely days. Upon arrival, you immediately see the amazing view through the huge windows, and I don't think I took my eyes off it the whole week. The house was spotless, cozy, happy, adorable! Plenty of room for a couple or two. The deck below is the PERFECT place to sit with a beer and a crossword puzzle or book and watch for stingray, bonefish, tropical fish, and hummingbirds in the trees behind you! The sunset is breathtaking, and the sunrise through the curtains is the best way to wake up. We snorkeled off the dock, took walks around the island, drove the few hundred yards in our golf cart to the empty and perfect 4-mile sandy beach, and just loved the whole experience! The island is quiet and wonderful. We loved it.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

The house is beautiful, and has a fantastic view of the Sea of Abaco It is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It is very isolated for a getaway from it all stay. .Craig was responsive when we informed him the ladder was broken. It was repaired promptly so we could snorkel. We saw a number of fish, and a nurse shark when we snorkeled. We truly enjoyed our stay. Our only disappointment was the weather, and we did not get to snorkel the reef because it was too rough. We hope to return in the future, and would definitely stay there again.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This house is great. We stayed there for 6 nights and it was absolutely wonderful; the name of the house fits! We ate our dinner at the house every night and had lots of room to eat, drink, and enjoy the house. We had our coffee in the morning and our drinks at night on the wonderful deck in the "hammock chairs". The lofts are big and roomy and the bedroms are very spacious and you can hear the water in the bay hit the rocks; such a pleasant sound to hear waking up every morning. The view of the bay is beautiful; you can see the sun set from the house. It is absolutely beautiful and I would definitely stay there again!
Owner response:As you can see from our guests comments, Livin' the Dream has some truly unique features. While it's only two bedrooms, It's quite roomy with the two lofts, and the back porch is a huge part of the charm. Being so close to the Sea adds an extra sound dimension. No need for a wave machine. We appreciate your comments.
