Upstairs on Vine - an Upscale Victorian Downtown Wine Country
Year Purchased: 1998
Why the Owner Chose Paso Robles
While Paso Robles has grown over the years, it still retain's it's small town atmosphere, where people are friendly and inviting. An evening stroll though downtown will convince you that you have found a second home and will make you wanting to return again and again.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
We're located two blocks from the city park which is in the center of downtown. This puts you within easy walking distance to many very good restaurants and 20+/- wine tasting rooms. Our central location is within an easy (20+/- minute) driving distance to the eastside and westside wineries within the Paso Robles Appellation.
Owner's Map of Paso Robles
Mary & Doug grew up in the SF Bay area and attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. While attending Cal Poly, we decided we would rather raise our family here rather than move back to the big city.
We absolutely fell in love with the Paso Robles area. We want to share the Paso Robles community and the surrounding wine country with our guests.

Photos don't do this lovely space justice. It was the ideal spot for our weekend get-away with friends. So comfortable, larger than anticipated, and picture perfect. Convenience to the town square was great. Will do it again for sure!

We greatly enjoyed our visit to Paso Robles and found Upstairs on Vine to be the perfect base. The apartment was totally comfortable, generously equipped, nicely appointed and well suited for leisure, our culinary pursuits and hedonistic pleasures. One thing in particular. We almost always seek out VRBOs for our travels, and Upstairs on Vine includes basic amenities: coffee, toilet tissue, Kleenex, spices, shampoo, bar soap, etc. This really sets its apart from the rest. The bottle of J. Lohr was a nice finishing touch. It may seem a small thing, but for travelers who would otherwise have to take the time to stock up on these basics, it is not. It is a much appreciated added convenience. Its proximity to downtown and the wineries is exceptional. We had a great Paso Robles visit and Upstairs on Vine was a significant contributor to the success.

We spent 3 wonderful days exploring Paso Robles and Hearst Castle with time enough to visit a number of wineries. The house is comfortable and has everything a traveler can wish for. The owner was helpful and responsive. We had such a good time we plan on making a return trip.

We were very pleasantly surprised with Upstairs on Vine. The internet pictures do not do it justice! We loved the amenities and special touches. Your taste in decorating is lovely. We felt like we were in a new home. Paso Robles was great! What a fun and friendly town. We never realized we would be tasting olive oil and cheeses too! We met tons of friendly locals who were more than welcoming. We had an awesome time. Thank you for making our vacation great!

From the moment we stepped inside, we noticed how simple and elegant, and especially clean this place was. The king size beds were a treat! The microfiber soft towels did not go unappreciated. Super quiet microwave and dishwasher, fans and all. Was this house remodeled yesterday? We really enjoyed ourselves this weekend as we celebrated our friends marriage by wine tasting, grilling, making dinner together and checking out the Crooked Kilt Bar. I don't want to leave!

Four best friends were making a trip to get together and check out the Paso Robles Wine Country. The beginning of our trip did not start well. We we're all squabbling about our hotel (PR Inn). Small rooms and old decor. MaryAnn found Kathy at Paso Robles vacation Rentals and booked another place. We ended up at Upstairs on Vine, a beautiful Victorian house on Vine Street. Awesome - Fabulous - Absolutely Extraordinary - Exquisite. After our first experience at the PR Inn, we did not know what to expect. Rather than sitting in out dinky hotel rooms or meeting in the bar, we were able to relax and catch up over a glass of wine in the comfy and cozy living room. Thank you, you saved our trip. We loved this place!

It is hard to leave this "home away from home"! We were spoiled by the luxury linens and gourmet kitchen. Loved the decor, the music and the wine. Walking downtown to the Farmers Market, the concert in the park and restaurants was easy. Foggy mornings, sunny afternoons, cool evenings and long summer days. A place to slow down the pace. We had a wonderful stay here in Paso Robles. It is so beautiful this time of year. We had a long drive up from San Diego and were thrilled when we arrived at our lovely apartment. Our 3 boys enjoyed the giant TV and we enjoyed having our "our room"! Thank you for a lovely stay and a neat vacation!
