Directly on the beach, our views are panoramic and truly spectacular. We have a sheltered lounging area by our path to the swimming beach and there is a lifeguard stationed in front of our home.
Our address is uniquely secluded and quiet in Ship Bottom because of an unusual street pattern. There is no parking on the street and typically only residents or neighbors are in the area. Children often play in the street. We have more than ample off street parking.
The house has recently been completely renovated and professionally decorated. Care was taken to make the house “exceptional”. Floors are predominately ceramic tile. The kitchen is up to date and very convenient.
The bathtubs, enclosed each end with glass block, are extra long, deep and boast a Groehe rain shower and fixtures. Large mirrors, on the walls, facing the ocean reflect the ocean views everywhere in the living rooms. The master bedrooms are essentially lounges as well. Naturally, we have central air conditioning.

This past summer was our third time staying in this wonderful shore home. We have spent 4 glorious weeks in each of the past three summers and are looking forward to our next four-week stay in the summer of 2012. The house is absolutely wonderful, beautifully located, and expertly maintained. There is direct access to the beach from the house. You can go out the door and walk to the beach without even putting any shoes on! (Though I do advise that you use shoes when it is hot because the sand can get quite hot!) The owner, Peggy, also is quick to attend to any problems and correct them (not that there any major problems). The home is a duplex. We prefer the first floor (which is up one level so you still get magnificent views of the ocean) because we like the large deck which is covered so we do not have to worry about being in the sun. We have spoken to people who have rented the upstairs and they have been equally thrilled with their accommodations. I love to cook -- even when on vacation -- and the kitchen is set up to make cooking a pleasure. While cooking, you can look out the many windows and see the ocean and dunes. It is also an “open” kitchen so it is very easy to cook and still be a part of the group. There is a family run grocery store only a 5 minute walk from the house that has all the necessities you would want! Peggy is a wonderful landlord .She is attentive without being obtrusive. We just love our conversations with her. It is a wonderful home to vacation in!

We have been going to this specific house for 6 years now. We keep going back because the owner makes sure the house is always clean, and all equipment working but, most of all because she is very friendly. The house is in a great location. We have stayed upstairs and downstairs and both locations have always been great. We’ve even had the TV break during a week there, and the owner went out and bought a new one that day. Because it’s not on a main road it is always quiet. The views of the ocean from the top floor are breath taking, and the downstairs is good if you want a shaded deck. We love staying in either location! It is within walking distance to food shopping, pizza, miniature golf, yoga, and bagels. It’s a great family place to stay or even great for a couple’s quiet get away.

We are excited to rent this place again. We found it last year by doing extensive online research. We were drawn to it because of its location, views, and the porch overlooking the ocean. We were definitely not disappointed at all. In fact, the pictures only begin to show how nice the place is. It has all the necessary amenities for easy, comfortable living in a modern world. The house sits on a private lane - no public parking, the kids can play safely in the back yard and it's always quiet. It was a very quick and easy walk to the clean, life-guarded beach. There are 2 outdoor showers on the ground floor with plenty of room to store all our beach gear. The house is within walking distance of the grocery store, and there are lots of local restaurants and fun spots to visit. Island life is just what we wanted: quiet, with an emphasis on family fun rather than partying. The decor is bright, welcoming, and modern. The sleeping accommodations are clean and comfortable. The location of the master bedroom gives you a nice sense of privacy from the rest of the apartment, without being too remote. The modern kitchen has every cooking utensil you might want to use, and the laundry facilities are conveniently located in the kitchen. The dining area is easy to service from the kitchen while still providing a more formal seating arrangement. All of the public areas overlook the dunes and ocean. We were glad we chose the first floor apartment, as its porch is covered and therefore more usable to us for family lunches and dinners. The porch is accessible from the master bedroom as well as from the living room, so we often sat out there after the kids went to bed, to enjoy the ocean breezes. The house has Wi-Fi, cable, and a DVD player - these made our home life simpler to keep tapped into the world, and the kids can watch the occasional movie, if we aren't out for dinner or at the amusement park. Would we recommend this place? Absolutely. Aside from the amenities and location, the landlady is extremely responsive and helpful. She clearly wants to ensure a clean, safe, and happy vacation for her tenants. She is on site, responding quickly when there's even a hint of an issue. She has lots of info available about things to see and do. We don't stop talking about it all year. I keep a link to this site on my work PC, to get that peaceful feeling when I'm having a stressful day. We are very excited to be returning this year, as we hope to do for a long time to come!

This is our third time renting from VRBO (Key West, LA, now LBI). Each experience was pretty good. We planned ahead and spent a week (Memorial Day week) in LBI. This was the best, by far. First of all, there are 2 outdoor showers! Add that to the private beach area, views, clean/spacious home with all necessary amenities (AC, gas grill, TV/DVDs, wrap-around covered porch), lots of stores and restaurants (check out the pizza at Raviolis & More) within 2 second walk. We stayed on the lower of the two floors. Can't speak to the higher floor... Best of all, Peggy was super-accommodating. She took care of all of our needs and was very responsive throughout the process (just keep in mind that she prefers to talk about non-emergency issues during "business hours"). Needless to say, my wife, toddler son and I recommend this house.

We've rented here for 4 years, each year a great experience. I have to first point out that sunrise from the master bedroom and deck is outstanding (you can see it from the living room, dining area and kitchen as well!). What's best, is that the owner keeps both floors completely updated with clean, comfortable furnishings, fixtures, and technology. The kitchen is always clean and set up for easy family use, not to mention with a nice washer/dryer unit. The outdoor showers are also always clean with the added bonus of nice body wash and hair products provided by the owner. Beach access couldn't be any closer, but also a bit more private than the neighboring streets. You can walk to most everything including groceries, pizza, breakfast, mini-golf, shops, crabbing, etc. Close to lifeguard stand an added plus for families. The owner always returns our deposits promptly...it's never been a problem in 4 years. Last year, we accidentally broke a table. We offered to pay her the full price of the damage and the owner was nice enough to split the cost of replacement because we are repeat renters. You can't go wrong renting this ocean front gem!

I have rented from Peg for the last five summers with my family. She runs an excellent house. Everything is newly renovated, the place is spotless and modernized. Great A/C, views, semi-private beach access, life guards on duty in front and spotlessly clean. We have stayed in the upper and lower units. Both have great views and are totally awesome. This house is located near lots of great places to eat and play. We have had a great experience with the owner and no problem getting back our deposit. She has been quite helpful and nice to us. WE used to rent different places every year until we found this rental. I would highly recommend renting here, especially with a family. In the past we have been tricked by pictures on the internet, but if you are making this decision based on the web, you will be pleasantly surprised.

My husband and I first rented this home in May 2000 on a recommendation from a family member. This was before we had children, and it was our first time renting on LBI. My husband and his family had always rented in the Lavalette area. We just fell in love with the home and and with LBI. We have continued renting this home almost every year since then. We have three children now, and will be returning once again this July. The location is just perfect, right in the heart of LBI. It is convenient to restaurants and attrractions. Our kids love Treasure Island which is just up the road; this year we hope to make it to the water park, Thundering Surf. The home is truly oceanfront, with nothing between you and the stunning ocean views. This is definitley a big plus with young kids, since it's just a few steps off the beach to use the bathroom or grab something to eat (or dare I say nap?). The amenities are top notch, and the home is immaculate. It is a two family home, and both levels are very similar in layout and decor. We have stayed in both upper and lower, and really have no preference. If stairs are an issue, you may prefer the lower level. However, if you can take a few stairs, the views from the upper level are just a little more panoramic. The owner has been very helpful during all of our stays. I remember one year we were having trouble with the outdoor grill, and she replaced it immediately. We have never had a problem getting our security deposit back. All in all, we love this rental, and we really treasure the memories we have here over the years. Our kids are counting the days until we go again.
