Steve's place is wonderful. The location is secluded, right on the lake but still only 8-9 miles to town. The place is decorated very tastefully and has everything you need for your stay. Our visit was the long weekend of Thanksgiving and we really enjoyed our stay. We imagine that any season would be great - especially summer. We are definately planning on a return visit. Thanks for your hospitality Steve!!! The nearby Avalon Bar has great fresh fish & chips on fridays ( you may want to call & reserve your fish dinner as they only have a limited amount to offer) we got lucky & got the last 2 available when we went.

Outstanding Cottage & Lake

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this property. The cottage has a perfect view of the lake and is well appointed. It is very well decorated, the kitchen has everything to prepare meals, there is a full linen closet, washer/dryer, and cable t.v. The lake is outstanding. There is small island in the middle perfect for exploring. The beach in front of the cottage allows for a gradual entry into the water, which is perfect for children. There are few boats on the lake and the water is crystal clear. We found the rental price for this cottage to be substantially below other comparable cottages we have stayed at in years past. The owner was easy to contact and prompt with his responses to our inquiries. He is very down to earth and interested in his renters enjoying their stay.

This is a great place for a quiet relaxing family vacation! Water is very clean and perfect for swimming and fishing. Very little boat traffic. House is very clean and well maintained. I would buy groceries before you get into to Hillman as the town grocery store is a little on the expensive side other than that it was a perfect getaway. We loved how it was away from everything and a very quiet area. We had a great week and look forward to returning in the future, thank you Stephen for a great place to make memories with family and friends

BEAUTIFUL RENTAL ON LONG LAKE!!!

I have vacationed at this rental for the past 2 years, and it was the most enjoyable, relaxing vacation.....so much to do, and see. This is a beautiful lake....if you want to swim, fish, water ski, or just enjoy the day on your boat.... The night skies, enjoying the campfire by the lake...take a walk in the woods....if you LOVE the outdoors, and all there is to offer, this is the place to be! Steve's hospitality is the greatest.........and the best! Thank you for another great year of many memories on Long Lake!!! C.Wichert/

Great Time

My family and I recently rented this property and had a great time. The house was everything we expected and more. Nice, well kept cabin on the lake, no reason to leave once your'e there. The weather was very nice which meant we spent alot of time on the deck and down by the lake. Looking forward to renting again in the future.

The cottage is newer, very clean, well appointed with all the desired kitchen utensils, bedding, linens, good cable t.v., dock, and fire pit. Long Lake is perfect for boating and fishing; the water is clean and there is little boat traffic. The location is somewhat remote, which we found to add to the quality of our vacation. I would recommend purchasing all the food and beverages prior to arrival. Once you get there, you won't want to leave. The owner was very professional and worked with us to accomodate our schedule. He provided a written contract and promptly returned the deposit after our departure. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away and relax on a beautiful Northern Michigan lake, this is the spot.
