We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sodus Lotus; it has everything we desired. The apartment is very clean and spacious and well depicted by the online photographs. The residential area is a quiet and peaceful place to enjoy the owners gardens. We easily walked to the nearby historic lighthouse and lake view. We are so glad these friendly owners decided to share their piece of paradise near the lake and bay. The local restaurants are very good and people are super friendly and helpful. We look forward to a return visit.

Great Find at Sodus Point

We recently spent five nights at the Sodus Lotus and we loved our time there. The place was even nicer than the pictures and the location was perfect--close to town and all the other areas we explored. Everything one could ask for is provided and and the property was very clean and very well maintained. Our hosts, Charles and Esther, were extremely helpful in answering our questions and we enjoyed their conversations. The grounds are beautiful and very private-morning coffee on the back deck was a favorite time. We would definitely recommend the Sodus Lotus and hope to visit again.

Exquisite Garden Paradise

My wife and I just spent a lovely week at the Sodus Lotus with our 2 year old daughter. The grounds are magnificent; the apartment is impeccably clean, well furnished, and private; and the location was ideal--only a few minutes walk to the bay, the lake, and the shops and restaurants. The owners are incredibly charming and knowledgeable about the area, and can offer recommendations on where to eat and what to do. My family and I hope to make the Sodus Lotus an annual sojourn.

Owner response:Thanks to reviewers like Tim and his family we [owners] have had a life changing summer, everyone has been so enjoyable to spend some time with and are looking forward to seeing and helping them again. We are already receiving interest for 2011 and are taking reservations. With ALL that said motivation is creeping in for next year and we've already up-dated the grill and refurbished the summer house [ new screen and completely painted the interior ] which is in the back yard nicely shaded. Thank you for offering a little piece of your paradise to others. The apt is clean, spacious and comfortable. The yard picturesque, well maintained and an added bonus for downtime and dinner al fresco. You offer so much for such a reasonable rate. Sodus Point village was an absolute delight for two gals getting away for some R&R. We enjoyed parking the car for a day, walking around the village, the beach, pier and taking in the free Sunday afternoon concert at the lighthouse. Your suggestion of Watkins Glen for shopping and seeing the falls was an excellent choice. Your warm welcome and assistance where greatly appreciated. We regret not having made our stay longer. Great place and great location. Our family stayed for 8 nights (May 27-June 4, 2010) at the Sodus Lotus and had a wonderful time. The apartment was clean and well maintained and had all we needed for our stay. The owners were always friendly and treated us like family. The location also has a beautifully kept backyard and barbeque that we were invited to use. We could not have been more pleased. Thanks for a great stay.

Our family of three had a wonderful time at the Sodus Lotus in August. The Sodus Lotus was not only a spacious, nicely furnished and well kept one bedroom apartment, but truly a home away from home. This home away from home was equipped with all amenities that we needed to be comfortable and more. The Catchpoles let us use their drive way to park our car; their garage to store our bikes and jogger; their beautiful patio and backyard in where especially our 7 year-old daughter had fun to explore and play; and even their summer house in the backyard to sit out and enjoy the cool nights. All through our stay, we could feel Charles’ and Esther’s TLC and warm hospitality. Therefore, our weeklong stay at the quaint town of Sodus Point was even more restful and rejuvenating. In addition to the picturesque sights of the Lake Ontario, Sodus Point and its neighboring towns in Wayne County, NY had much to offer to us who enjoy outdoor activities such as cycling, swimming, running, hiking, local foods, sightseeing, boating, etc. We hope to visit this town again in the near future and when we do, we will definitely stay at Sodus Lotus, our newly found home away from home in Sodus Point. Thank you, Charles and Esther for the thoughtful and wonderful accommodation! We are grateful for all your help.

We had a very happy week staying in the clean, comfortable and well-equipped apartment. The owners were very warm and welcoming and we were able to sit out in their beautiful garden and eat our meals on their deck, which all added to the pleasure of the holiday. Walking around Sodus Point was a pleasure, with its beautiful views of the Lake, and we enjoyed visiting the fascinating Lighthouse Museum. The local farm shop was a wonderful find, with superb food and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Sodus Lotus. The place was new, spanking clean, and very comfortable. The owner went out of his way to make us feel at home, and was attentive to our needs. We loved relaxing in the beautiful backyard, and enjoyed being able to walk to beach, bay, and lighthouse. We hope to come back, and would definitely recommend staying here.
