Kalmia is the newest log cabin in Shenandoah Woods, our private 100 acre valley in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park. Kalmia is the scientific name for Mountain Laurel, the evergreen shrub that graces our mountainside. We located Kalmia to take advantage of the incredible views. Kalmia sits 300 feet above the Shenandoah Valley on a private mountain which is a foothill of the Blueridge Mountains. Standing on the front porch the view to your left is Big Meadows on top of Shenandoah National Park. Directly before you just across the Shenandoah Valley is a spectacular westerly view of the Massanutten Mountains. Sunsets here are an event.
The master bedroom has a king bed and a private bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed. There is a loft with a futon that makes a double sized bed. The sofa also converts to a queen sized bed. The living room has an open cathedral ceiling with exposed heavy timber beams and a dormer to let in plenty of natural light. There is a gas log fireplace with a floor to ceiling stone chimney. Just above the fireplace is a 52" LCD HDTV with DirecTV HD package. Kalmia Cabin also offers free wireless broadband service. There is a full kitchen with new GE appliances. Pots, pans and dinerware are included. We think the front porch is the best feature of Kalmia, it's screened in, has a hot tub, table and chairs and a stunning view of the Shenandoah Valley. There is a ramp to access the cabin and all rooms except the loft are on the same level.
We live close by and are available if you have any needs or if you would like some information and suggestions about area attractions. We will also make every effort to accomodate unique requirements. Need a pack-n-play or a high chair? We can usually provide.

Our family just returned from our stay at Kalmia Log Cabin. We were there for a week but would have liked to stay for a year! The cabin is gorgeous, clean, tasteful and comfortable! The views from the porch are one of a kind, especially at sunrise and sunset! The firepit was a wonderful gathering place each night to view the stars and hear the train pass through the valley. We loved the pull-out bed by the gas fireplace...a great place to fall asleep watching the stars through the front windows! There are many places to hike around the cabin and even a playground nearby for the kids. The location of Kalmia was perfect for all of the local attractions! We cannot wait to go back! The owners are helpful, hospitable, and take care of all of your needs. For a perfect mountain experience look no further!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for such a nice place to stay you guys thought of everything it was most definitly home away from home. We were so glad after being away all day to know we were coming back to such a wonderful nice place where we could kick our shoes off and kick back and relax watching tv or listening to music or relaxing in the hot tub or just sitting on the deck and listening to all the night sounds which is my favorite thing to do. We had no idea what a wonderful, restful vacation we were in for. The scenery is great, just wish we could put it in our pocket and take it with us. The hot tub was magnificent. The cabin was beautiful and you furnished it perfectly. Thanks for being so kind to us.
