We are delighted to recommend our new property as your home base for summer fun. Relaxing in Brewster, MA is an unforgettable experience. A five minute leisurely walk (moments drive) from Sandbarrio to Saint's Landing Beach (and parking lot) will tempt you to toss off your shoes and feel the wonderful Cape Cod sand beneath your toes.
A special highlight is watching the tide change twice a day in a very dramatic fashion. Low tide flats allow up to a 2-mile walk out on the sand. Collecting beautiful shells, watching sand crabs and clamming (in season with permit) add to your enjoyment.
Thoreau visited Cape Cod in the mid-19th century and wrote of Brewster: "No persons appear to have greater relish for the social circle and domestic pleasures...we stopped for the night...feeling very much as if we were on a sand bar in the ocean, and not knowing whether we should see land or water ahead when the mist cleared away." Thoreau describes a lovely image that is true today.
You may also walk with a beach chair (6 provided) and a favorite beverage to Saint's Landing shore in the evening to watch spectacular sunsets over Cape Cod Bay - or stay on the beach with a cooler and relax as the day comes to a close.
Our newly redecorated home complements the historic town of Brewster. Vacation living in Sandbarrio is cozy, comfortable, but modern. The view out of the bay window (with pleated shade) in the bright living room faces the bay. Although open window bay breezes provide cool air circulation throughout the house, electric fans are available for every room and central A/C can be switched on for maximum summer comfort.
The house is fully equipped and suitable for entertaining. Two bedrooms on the main level were combined to create a large, lovely master suite and bathroom. The queen-sized bed/sleeping side can be separated from the sitting area by a wooden screen. A wicker day/trundle bed on that side is comfortable for reading or watching TV and can sleep two short-term guests. There is a second bedroom and bathroom on this main level.
A comfortable den was added to the back of the house. French doors (with shades) lead from the dining area to the den with a sleep sofa, desk, board games/puzzles/books, DVD/audio library, Cable TV/DVD/stereo and additional seating. Double doors from the den allow you to walk out onto the patio, where you can grill, sun, read, entertain or play in the yard (croquet set included).
The spacious lower level - known as the Sand Pit - is beautifully carpeted and furnished. It contains 2 beds, armoire, furniture grouping, game table (w/cards & poker chips) and regulation ping pong table. This is a great space for teenagers!
All bath/beach towels, table/bed linens are provided for your convenience. Disposable items are also stocked (soap, detergent, plastic bags/wrap, etc.) with the request that anything used be replaced for the next tenant.
The Sandbarrio is also available for reasonably priced, off season rentals. Play golf late into the beautiful New England autumn or enjoy a special weekend with most restaurants and entertainment venues open year-round. Sandbarrio is a perfect spot for newlyweds!
