We just spent a week at the Lucky Beach House, and had a great time! The house is older, and could use some updating, but is clean and comfortable, and we all felt at home there. The view out the upstairs living room windows is beautiful, I spent hours cuddled on the couch watching the ocean. We were surprised with how much we found to do in Crescent City. For such a small city, it has a lot of family fun. My two year old especially loved the nearby playgrounds, and my 13 year old couldn't get enough of the waterslide at the local pool. My husband's favorite part of the trip was steelhead fishing on the Smith River. We all really enjoyed dinner at the Thai House, sipping coffees from Dutch Bros, and, of course, checking out all the beautiful redwoods nearby! We really enjoyed our visit and hope to come back someday.

Three retired buddies of mine and I stayed for 4 nights the week before Thanksgiving. We came up to fish for salmon at the Smith River. It sure was great to come back at the end of each day to such a warm and comfortable house. Comfortable beds for each of us. Fantastic to have so much more room than a motel room. It was everything that was advertised on VRBO. Also didn't have to go out to eat each night as we brought food to cook for a couple of nights. Super view from upstairs. Since I come up 3-5 times a year I am sure I will return. Great winter rates are hard to beat.

The Lucky Beach House is a rare find! We spent three beautiful days in October 2011 there. The weather was in the 70s the entire time, and we slept with the windows open, enjoying the sound of the surf. The house is large, clean, well stocked and very homey. Our son, his wife and 2 daughters had the entire bottom floor to themselves, with their own bathroom, and my husband and I enjoyed the top floor with a great ocean view. All of us spent most of our time together upstairs, enjoying the view, playing board games and relaxing. I put a chair out front and read a book in the sun, and watched the ocean. My granddaughters, age 4 and 1, were delighted to find toys waiting for them! You can walk across and down the street to a little park and sit on the bench and watch the sun set. The Brother Jonathan Memorial Cemetery is a short walk the other way, next to an excellent look out point for the Lighthouse. We enjoyed eating at the Good Harvest on Hwy 101 across from the harbor. We spent a beautiful day on South Beach with our family. Although Lucky is an older home, it is clean, comfortable and the best deal on Pebble Beach Drive. Emma was easy to make arrangements with and very helpful. We hope to return soon.

We spent three nights at this lovely home and enjoyed every minute of it. The home has a great view of the ocean from the upstairs and is larger than it appears in the pictures. I have stayed in many vacation homes, but I have never stayed in one as fully stocked as this home is (right down to the sewing basket that I used to fix a broken strap on my daughter's dress). The house is welcoming and very clean. It is a short walk to beach access and is located in a nice neighborhood. I would recommend this home and, if I return to Cresent City, would stay here again.
Owner response:Just a brief note to say thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. It is greatly appreciated. Hope you will visit us again. Emma

We rented the Lucky Beach House for the weekend of Easter. My 90 yr. old father in law lives in Crecsent City during spring/summer so we made trek over from Reno. We had stayed at several different rental houses in the past and some were ok, some very over priced and out dated some some not homey and comfy feeling. We had the best time at the Lucky Beach House. Don't let the two bedrooms fool you. The one up stairs has a queen, the one down stairs has a queen, two twins, a futon, and a rollaway, plus a pull out couch up stairs. So many little extras, a welcome basket on the table, books, childrens book, games, movies, and even sand pails for the beach. They really thought of everything. The best part was the beautiful view, right on the coast line and nothing better than to get up and have your tea/coffee and watch the waves, then walk across the street to the beach. We loveed it so much we are coming back in June. Thanks again Emma see you in June.

The Lucky Beach House was the perfect vacation home for our family. We spent 5 nights in Crescent City and we couldn't have felt more at home. The house was equipped with everything that you could possibly need and had more room than we initially thought we would. There was a total of 9 of us so we were a bit concerned about the house, but once we arrived we were very happy with our choice. The house is located on the most beautiful beach that I have ever seen and the kids really enjoyed checking out the tidepools and collecting seashells. The neighborhood is very quiet and we were not bothered one time by the property owners/managers so we felt comfortable coming and going. We plan on visiting again and The Lucky Beach House will be our first choice!

We spent Veteran's Day here in 2009. What a perfect family friendly get-away! We felt like we were at grandma's house! The downstairs is all set up for the kids, and the upstairs is a perfect getaway for mom and dad. It has EVERYthing in it you could possibly need, except your clothes! The owner is SO sweet! The view is amazing! The location could not be beat. Parking isn't great if you have a visitor, but who cares really. The beach is right across the street. Perfect place for exploring. WE LOVED IT! Can't wait to go back!

We had a terrific time! The home is well suited to both large and small groups (we're the latter--family of four). It was nice to have plenty of room at a reasonable price. The house was quiet, clean and well maintained. It was great to have cooking facilities, all needed utensils and a washer/dryer. Mom and dad could watch TV upstairs and the kids had their own downstairs but we didn't watch that much TV--too much to do! Loved to stroll the beach and explore tide pools, walked out to the Battery Point Lighthouse (I was born a hundred years too late--I would have loved that job!). Our favorite activity was the Rogue River Jet Boats, about an hour north at Gold Beach, Oregon. We did the long tour (104 miles round trip) into the wild portion of the river. Yes it costs a fair bit but we loved it--it was an experience we'll always remember. We also took a day trip to Oregon Caves, checked out the Trees of Mystery and Stout Grove in Jedediah State Park. The redwoods are so awe-inspiring! Our favorite restaurant was Mezzaluna Italiano -- by the movie theaters in town. We stayed a week and were never bored. In short, it's a terrific place for a nice relaxing family vacation!
