THE "OFF" SEASONS

The crowds are gone and the locals "retake" the cafes as Old Québec slows down to a pace that matches the changing seasons. It's a great way to sample the town's timeless European tempo.

B. Please bring your favorite house slippers for use inside; it's an old-world tradition that's friendly to the polished antique wood floors. (In the winter, the municipal government keeps the streets and sidewalks clear of ice and snow with the liberal use of salt and chemicals ...it's great outside, but devours wood floors.)
