I stayed at this house with my son husband and two pugs and we had a delightful time. We got very lucky bc the weather was just perfect, 51 degrees one day and snowfall the next. My four year old son enjoyed the snow and the great meals I was able to cook in the amazing kitchen. It was well stocked and had every gadget and spice imaginable. Im always very leary bc I havent had the best experiences with renting in the past, but this one is a sure thing. Karyn was extremely helpful and responded almost instantly to my questions and provided a great array of things to do. She made the process simple and seamless. We enjoyed the town of woodstock but looked forward to coming back to the house to sit in front of the fireplace. I would recommend this rental to anyone! We look forward to coming back.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This perfect mountain retreat has all the conveniences of home set on a quiet mountainside. The home is artiscally decorated and the enormous windows and skylights let all the beauty of nature in. And the special features-the enormous kitchen, sauna, and steam shower-bring a spa feeling to the home. This beautiful retreat is a short drive to a variety of quaint towns with excellent restaurants and shopping delights. While we preferred Phoenicia and Sweet Sue's for breakfast, Woodstock is only down the road. Karyn, the owner, added the personal touch, making us feel right at home. We will definitely be returning and recommend this home as the perfect respite for a memorable trip to the Catskills.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is such a pleasant and friendly house. It's like stepping into an old friend's house the moment you walk through the door. The property has everything you could ever need, and the surrounding area is loaded with things to do. We had a wonderful time and totally fell in love with the Catskills on our holiday. Many thanks to Karyn for her excellent communication throughout the whole rental experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We've been renting vacation houses in the area for many years now and this is by far our favorite. The house is very well organized, clean, modern, and packed with amenities like the sauna and onsite laundry. It's perfect for relaxing in the woods as well as a central location for exploring the Catskills and Woodstock area. We love the reservoir walk/bike/scoot path a few miles away, Pine Hill Lake, proximity to Sweet Sue's in Phoenicia, and you can't beat the farm stands just minutes down the road for fresh food to prepare in the spacious kitchen. The natural environment surrounding the house is incredible... viewed from all the picture windows and many decks... in our week at the house we saw hummingbirds while enjoying morning coffee, wild turkeys, a family of deer off in the woods and plenty of other wildlife to excite our 2 city slicker kids. The kids had room to spread out in the downstairs bedroom and office (with a great window seat for reading) as well as to play out on the front lawn and decks while we enjoyed our separate space in the master bedroom upstairs. Karyn is available and attentive and was very helpful with all of our questions. Can't wait to return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My wife, 3 year old son, and I had a wonderful week at Karyn and David's home. The home itself is beautiful, new, and extremely clean and well kept. The property is very nice, with a large front lawn area perfect for our son to run around on. Grilling and making fires in the fire pit were nightly activities too. The kitchen was wonderful - if you cook a lot this is the place for you! Also, the close proximity to Woodstock, Hannover Farms market and other markets on route 28, and Phoenica, all make the location perfect.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My boyfriend and I (and little puggle) just returned from a fabulous weekend stay. First, let me say that the location is perfect. The house is situated in between Woodstock and Phoencia and made it extremely easy to explore the area! I usually only explore the town of Woodstock, but there are so many smaller cute (and less toursity towns) in the area that should not be missed. (Karyn will tell you where to get the best pancakes in the area....and she is right!) The house is charming and very clean. There is a fire pit out front that got some great use since it dropped to 50 in June! Perfect for Smores, wine and good conversation. The Kitchen is well stocked with spices, so no need to pack from home. Overall an AMAZING weekend. And to top it all off Karyn was lovely and even left me a special B-day gift that we enjoyed by the fire. Highly recommed for a couple (and a little dog) looking for a romantic getaway.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

For Memorial Day weekend and to celebrate a friend's birthday, we took the short drive from New York City to Woodstock and stayed in this wonderful home. It's surrounded by stunning, verdant woods, and is a short drive from the unexpectedly great restaurants of Woodstock. A beautiful pond for swimming is a short walk down the road and the area is filled with walking trails. The house itself is comfortable, clean and well-appointed. You won't lack for home comforts. The owners were responsive and very helpful about all inquiries. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had the most amazing time in this home!! It was two couples and a dog, and we stayed for a long weekend in mid February. The communication between myself and the owner was great, everything was extremely easy to use and work with and she provided very detailed information to review prior to going. The home itself is so cute, quaint, comfortable, and clean. The house is located in a quiet area surrounded by woods, which gave the perfect backdrop to this relaxing weekend. We spent the weekend cooking in the large and modern kitchen and reading in front of the wood burning stove. Woodstock is a cute little home just 10 minutes away. We took a few short hikes in the surrounding countryside, it really is relaxing and beautiful. There is also a steam shower and sauna, which were extremely clean and a nice way to relax at the end of the day. I can't say enough about the wonderful experience and can't wait to stay in this home again!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

About the owner: A health writer and a poet, we relish going from city to country and back again, and work hard to make the rental experience a terrific one for our guests.
Why the Owner Chose Woodstock:
Everything about the Woodstock location is great. There is a progressive spirit and a rich array of cultural activities -- art galleries and crafts shops, music venues, film and poetry festivals, outdoor concerts and plays, and much, much more. The restaurants are great, as are the farm stands and food shops. The world-class Emerson spa is less than 10 minutes away.
But it's just as easy to skip all that for a nature experience. Hiking trails begin in the back yard, which abuts public lands. The Catskills are rich with hiking, swimming, and biking opportunities. Star-gazing and sunsets can be extraordinary. Set back in the woods, the house is utterly tranquil, yet it is a short drive to civilization at its best
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A loop walk through the neighborhood, up a mountain road to a great vista... a drive to Woodstock for the film festival or an outdoor summer concert.... Swim in the private, spring-fed pond, armed with cooler chest and towels, emerge refreshed and silken. Return home for a sauna, a campfire, a cocktail... Read a novel, watch a movie in still beauty... Breathe deeply... Feel calm.
