Our upstairs cottage is on a 20 acre oceanfront property that is considered a private estate. The cottage is well away from our home, down a winding road and behind trees, and is the ultimate in privacy, serenity and beauty.
The cottage is cozy, but very well appointed. A queen bed sleeps 2, and there is a pull-out sofa in the living area that can sleep 1 child. Young children are not appropriate as the cottage stairs could be a hazard, and worrying to the parents. An older child, 6-12, would work well.
Martin Creek Trail, 1/4 mile south of our entrance, leads down to a pocket beach that has amazing rock stacks, and is great for hunting shells and agates. A state beach, College Cove, or Elkhead, is 1/2 mile south of our entrance, and has wonderful trails and a beach, in my opinion, that rivals those in Big Sur.
Our local Eureka/Arcata airport, off Hwy. 101, is 10-12 minutes away from our property. Car rentals are available at the airport. Check out my personal website link (below rates section) for video, more pictures and availablity.

This is not Dragonfly Cottage!! It's me in Egypt in 2002. I've no website for this marvelous place. Dragonfly Cottage is a great place to rest up after a trip abroad!
Why the Owner Chose Trinidad
We bought an ocean front estate in 1999 on California's north coast which luckily happened to have a charming upstairs guest cottage. I turned it into a Vacation Rental in 2008, and the rest is history! All reservations and payments must be made on our website which is linked to VBRO's site. We've a great video that tells the tale better than I can.
