Our Home is a brand new quintessential beach house designed and detailed to match its sisters in Siasconsett on the north coast of Nantucket Island. From its elegant copper roof, eastern white cedar shingles, obligatory Dutch door or its warm Douglas fir floors, every room embodies the old style energy of what a beach house is all about.
A beach house is not a beach house without the beach, and this house delivers with 25 short steps to the sand and sit down water views from the first, second and third floors. This home has a strong water presence, improving after sunset as the night lights of Riviera Drive light up the waters of Sail Bay so you can enjoy the warm summer evenings on the third floor deck.
You will be coming in off the beach early to enjoy this classy old style home. The kitchen is one of the most beautiful kitchens we have seen. Yes, we know it’s ours, but just take a look at the pictures. We’re not sure if it’s the open beam ceiling, the warm colors, the lighting or the mix of materials, but it’s got a special energy that will keep you home for dinner instead of going out. It’s just too easy to open a bottle of wine and toss some fish or steaks on that huge Viking grill and relax and maybe pop in a movie on that 50” plasma screen. Don’t worry about leaving to find a movie; there are over 100 DVDs in the case under the home theater system. If some fun family time is desired, we have an outstanding collection of Board Games.
The house has two small cottage style bedrooms on the first floor, each has a Queen bed with a full bed on top (updated from the pictures). Each of the rooms sleep 4 comfortable for a total of 8. If you want the Full Beds can be raised to the ceiling and out of the way. Also a large office has 2 twin air matresses for your use, so really 3 bedrooms downstairs. Vintage Nantucket beach houses were well known for there funky little sleeping rooms and more extravagant quarters for the masters of the house. These rooms have an office area with a computer and printer for your use. The computer is hardwired to the internet with wireless broadcasting from the second floor. The first floor bath is beautifully appointed with hot water fed from a tank-less water heater. There is a two car side by side garage with laundry on the first level.
Off the front of the home is an outstanding large deck with a BBQ along with tables to sit up to 12 people. Great views of the Bay are available from this area. Also along the side of the house are the bikes for your use.
The second floor is home to the living room with fireplace, dining room, family/TV area, adjoining kitchen and a beautiful powder room finished in classic cottage style. The living room has large French doors on the second floor deck that open out, joining the living area to the covered balcony. There is no shortage of space or seating with plenty of room for everyone to find their own personal favorite place to sit and relax. Also included on the second floor is a Queen size air-dream pull out sofa. If you have never slepted on the air-dreams you are in for a treat and you just may be fighting to use the second floor pull out for your sleeping quarters.
The third floor houses the master suite with cathedral ceilings, huge dormer windows, desk area, beautiful window seat (sleeps one person if needed) and a great master bath with huge skylights to let the summer sun inside. A few steps from the master is a powder room that serves the master as well as guests on the large roof deck. The deck has 2 large tables which will sit over 10 people.
This beach house has a fully stocked (less food & drinks) kitchen, library with plenty of books to read, movies to watch, beach bikes, boogey boards, stereos, beach towels and cleaning service on Wednesday which goes along with 1 week Sat to Sat says only in the summer months. (FYI, we do not charge extra for cleaning like other places do, we expect you to keep things nice when you leave)
The Mission Restaurant (3 minute walk) is great for breakfast or step up to the Catamaran Resort and Spa (5 minute walk)to spoil yourselves. The Catamaran offers one of the most beautifully appointed spa experiences with exercise equipment, massage and other 5 star pampering for the most demanding vacationers on your list. Brew a cup of coffee in the morning and sip it as you walk along the bay to the Spa. We will even supply the Starbucks coffee beans and a grinder for your coffee. We bet you can’t go just once. It’s that nice, don’t miss it. They serve a nice lunch and dinner as well. Saska’s restaurant (5 minute walk)serves great steaks, fish and has a very popular sushi bar.
The beach on the bay, just a few steps from our front gate is quiet and peaceful, with warm white sand. For a little more action, head across the street to the ocean to enjoy the surf. You can stop for some great Mexican food just across Mission Blvd. on your way.
Remember this is a complete Beach Home and not a condo. You will not be sharing any walls with anyone. Also, you are in North Mission Beach and do not need to worry about the bothersome airplane noise of South Mission Beach. You are also in the heart of Pacific Beach and can walk to all the wonderful shops.
This beach house is our home during the off season and we request that you treat it with care. Your neighbors are close by, so loud or not so loud parties are not welcome. We don’t rent to students on vacation or vacationers who need a keg to have a few friends over. This is an elegant beach house for those who want to relax in style…

- Air Conditioning : The house was built for air-flow. Open up the windows even on the hotest day and you will need a coat in the house.
- Linens Provided : We provide 2 sets of sheets for all beds. Sheets are new every year and we also have bed and pillow covers on everything. Extra lines are under the downstairs beds, in the trunks on the main floor, under the upstairs bed and in the under the window seat on the top floor.
- Washer : Stacked unit which is on the side of the house.
- Dryer : Stacked unit which is on the side of the house.
- Garage : 2 car garage with plenty of space to fit 2 SUV's.
- Off Street Parking : 2 blocks from the only public parking spot on Mission Beach. Just go south to Santa Clara and turn left towards the Bay. You will go into the Santa Clara Rec area which was free overnight parking.
- Gas Fireplace : Includes a thermostate. This fireplace will heat the entire home and also has a fan on the ground floor. Control for the ground floor fan is on the wall near the printer.

- Double Bed (2) : Each ground floor bedroom has a double bed above each queen bed. Very comfortable and if you do not want to use them, it has a system in which you can raise each bed to the ceiling.
- Bunk Bed (2) : The ground floor has a bedroom with a queen bed in each with a full bed above making the bunk beds. If you want you can raise the full beds to the ceiling and out of the way.

$500 deposit payable at time of booking. 10.5% Occupancy tax.

Why the Owner Chose Mission Beach
After traveling the world I came to understand one thing, San Diego is one of the best places in the world to live and visit. This home is in one of the best locations you will ever find with both the bay and ocean available for your use. It did not seem fair to keep the home for my private use and not share it with others. This is the reason for providing the home as a vacation rental.

This is not only a rental, it is my pride and joy. We have so much more than any other property you will find and this is highlighted through the guest comments. We want nothing more than to ensure your experience in our home is one to remember. This is the only vacation home we have and when it is not rented out, it is used by myself and friends/family.

Everything you could ask for in a rental. Great location, great kitchen and lots of space. Beaches, shops and places to eat all within very short walks. Extremely clean and well stocked with towels, beach toys and area information. Super place for kids and adults alike. Highly recommend this house for your next vacation!

My family and I stayed at this lovely beach home over the Christmas holidays and loved it; the location is great--with the bay beach as well as ocean beaches in easy walking distance. And the house is very well laid out for small or larger groups (we hosted Christmas eve and 15 people fit easily). The description of this rental matched our expectations. We will definately be staying again.

Good location, comfortable, and fair price. The place is not quite as big as the pictures depict. I would recommend that no more than around 8 adults stay there for a comfortable stay, mainly due to maneuvering space with luggage, etc. We had 6 adults and it was fantastic. Loved the kitchen and sitting area. We really appreciated the lack of cleaning fee, which in return compelled us to leave the place just as clean when we left. Easy drive to airport, La Jolla, Ocean beach area, Gas Lamp district, etc. Nice view of the bay, could not see so much of the ocean side. Easy walk to both beaches, however, we only went there once, because it was so chilly.

This home is the ideal location for a large family gathering. It accommodated all 12 of us for sleeping and we all fit nicely on the extra-long table and 12 chairs! This was the best Thanksgiving Dinner we have ever had! The house is fully-equipped for playing games, sitting by the fire, watching football, riding bikes, games, etc. And, it is 2 houses from Mission Beach and across the street from Ocean Beach! You could not ask for a better home or location!

We absolutely loved staying here! Close to the beach, the bay, and anything else you could probably want! Parked are car in the garage and didn't move it again until we left, just walked everywhere.

The living room and kitchen in the house are great! The master bedroom is also top notch. Be advised that the office is right next to the two bedrooms downstairs. There is not a lot of room in the office and we could not make it work for someone to sleep there due to the close proximity of the other two bedrooms. I thought there were bunk beds in the office. There are no beds in the office. Realistically, you have the master bedroom, pull out sofa and two bedrooms downstairs with the bunk beds for sleeping arrangements. We enjoyed being closer to the Bay side this year and spent more time on the Bay side. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the Nantucket home. The home is in a great location steps away from the bay and just a short walk to the beach.We could watch the kids from the balcony playing in the sand at the bay! The house was well stocked with everything we needed, a little cramped with 15 people but would stay there again in a heartbeat minus a few people! Only complaint I have was there was supposed to be a housekeeper come once during the week and knowone showed up other than that I would definitely stay here again in the future. Beautiful house and the owner is very nice as well.

Our kids had the time of their lives. The beach was so close and the house had the little things that matter, toys and beach tools for the kids. The kitchen rocks too! We plan on staying here again for sure!

This beach house was immaculate upon our arrival and we are very particular about sheets and towels. The kitchen was ideal for serving food and the outside patio was great to spend time outside enjoying the sunshine. It was walking distance to nice restaurants and local bars. We had a memorable time and would highly recommend this rental!

We landed at the Nantucket Mission Beach house for the memorial day weekend and had an absolutely fabulous time here! The house was tastefully decorated and looks exactly like the pictures. It was very well stocked for everything one might need for a beach vacation. We were 11 of us and the lower two bedrooms were a little tight but there was enough bedding for everyone. Todd was very helpful and came to fix the DVD player as soon as we reported an issue. Parking a third car was an issue but we used Todd's suggestion to park at the Mission beach sports center nearby. The house is literally 30 steps away from the bay side and the beach side is also only a 2 min walk away. Mission Blvd has a lof of restaurants and dont miss the Turqouise Cafe Bar Europa.. They had the best Tapas and great wine!
Recommended for:Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+.
