I was in a wedding on the west coast and came across this house at the suggestion of a friend. His description did not do this justice. The entire experience staying at the house was extremely gratifying and relaxing. The proximity to dining (breakfast/lunch/dinner) was great, as were the choices. Both the bay and the Pacific Ocean were right around the corner. The house itself was beautiful, felt like a home as soon as the door was opened and not a rental property. A perfect mix of modern and classic beach. This is a definate destination choice and will be glad to reccomend to anyone interested in a truly enjoyable vacation experience.

Home truly describes this house. It was perfect in every way! Everything you could imagine was included in this vacation rental, right down to the paper towels. Plenty of pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, even sunscreen. Decorated using the nautical theme, we truly felt like we lived at the beach. The kitchen was fully equipped. Although we didn't use the Viking professional stove, just looking at it gave the feeling of luxury! This home is designed for a large group but comfortable for a small family. It is a perfect place for family gatherings.

My family and I stayed at this lovely beach home over the Christmas holidays and loved it; the location is great--with the bay beach as well as ocean beaches in easy walking distance. And the house is very well laid out for small or larger groups (we hosted Christmas eve and 15 people fit easily). The description of this rental matched our expectations. We will definately be staying again.

This home is the ideal location for a large family gathering. It accommodated all 12 of us for sleeping and we all fit nicely on the extra-long table and 12 chairs! This was the best Thanksgiving Dinner we have ever had! The house is fully-equipped for playing games, sitting by the fire, watching football, riding bikes, games, etc. And, it is 2 houses from Mission Beach and across the street from Ocean Beach! You could not ask for a better home or location!

Good location, comfortable, and fair price. The place is not quite as big as the pictures depict. I would recommend that no more than around 8 adults stay there for a comfortable stay, mainly due to maneuvering space with luggage, etc. We had 6 adults and it was fantastic. Loved the kitchen and sitting area. We really appreciated the lack of cleaning fee, which in return compelled us to leave the place just as clean when we left. Easy drive to airport, La Jolla, Ocean beach area, Gas Lamp district, etc. Nice view of the bay, could not see so much of the ocean side. Easy walk to both beaches, however, we only went there once, because it was so chilly.

The living room and kitchen in the house are great! The master bedroom is also top notch. Be advised that the office is right next to the two bedrooms downstairs. There is not a lot of room in the office and we could not make it work for someone to sleep there due to the close proximity of the other two bedrooms. I thought there were bunk beds in the office. There are no beds in the office. Realistically, you have the master bedroom, pull out sofa and two bedrooms downstairs with the bunk beds for sleeping arrangements. We enjoyed being closer to the Bay side this year and spent more time on the Bay side. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the Nantucket home. The home is in a great location steps away from the bay and just a short walk to the beach. We could watch the kids from the balcony playing in the sand at the bay! The house was well stocked with everything we needed, a little cramped with 15 people but would stay there again in a heartbeat minus a few people! Only complaint I have was there was supposed to be a housekeeper come once during the week and knowone showed up other than that I would definitely stay here again in the future. Beautiful house and the owner is very nice as well.

We landed at the Nantucket Mission Beach house for the memorial day weekend and had an absolutely fabulous time here! The house was tastefully decorated and looks exactly like the pictures. It was very well stocked for everything one might need for a beach vacation. We were 11 of us and the lower two bedrooms were a little tight but there was enough bedding for everyone. Todd was very helpful and came to fix the DVD player as soon as we reported an issue. Parking a third car was an issue but we used Todd's suggestion to park at the Mission beach sports center nearby. The house is literally 30 steps away from the bay side and the beach side is also only a 2 min walk away. Mission Blvd has a lof of restaurants and dont miss the Turqouise Cafe Bar Europa.. They had the best Tapas and great wine!

This beach house was immaculate upon our arrival and we are very particular about sheets and towels. The kitchen was ideal for serving food and the outside patio was great to spend time outside enjoying the sunshine. It was walking distance to nice restaurants and local bars. We had a memorable time and would highly recommend this rental!

My daughters, grandchildren and I rented this house for a week so that we could see San Diego and be close to the beach. The location is ideal - one block from the bay, 2 blocks from the ocean, and (to the grandchildren's delight) 3/4 mile walk along the boardwalk to Belmont amusement park. It's also a ten-minute drive to Sea World. The house had everything needed for a beach vacation, including a bicycle built for two that is perfect for riding along the boardwalk (bike helmets available). The kitchen was excellent - large enough to accommodate 2 people preparing a meal - and the furnishings were just what was needed to make the 8 of us comfortable. And thank heavens for the washer and dryer! We would stay here again, if we ever get back to San Diego.

We spent Spring Break in this lovely home with our kids and grandkids (2 families total). The home is a few houses from the Bay and has everything you need to make the stay enjoyable. It has been designed to compactly handle a large group with the bunks on the bottom floor and other sleeping arrangements. The master bedroom on the 3rd floor is wonderful and the little kid tub was a hit! We loved having all the bikes, bike trailer for the little ones, and tons of games. The garage parking with two parking spaces was a challenge for an SUV and a passenger car...but we made it work. We loved this home...one of the best we have stayed in.

We have used VRBO several times and tend to rent houses when we travel now that we have children. This is, by far, the best house we have ever rented. You feel like you are at home, truly. There is no detail overlooked. There are plenty of stocked towels, some sunscreen, dish detergent, laundry detergent, grills, you name it. We traveled from the East Coast with a 2 year old and 7 month old. Life was made much easier when we found out there was a car seat available for us to use and a pack n play. Things got even better when we arrived and saw a stocked book shelf of children's books and toys. The decor of the house is wonderful and the kitchen has a professional range that makes you feel like cooking a meal, even though you are on vacation. The main level is perfect for watching some TV on one side, relaxing by a fire on the other and eating in between. This is the first time I have ever stayed in a rented home and thought about using some of their decoration ideas. The number of people it can sleep depends on how many adults, children, ages of children and privacy. We had two couples. One stayed in the master suite. The other (with kids) stayed downstairs. There was PLENTY of room. If you have children who are older and willing to sleep in the bunk beds, they are very cool and create a lot of sleeping arrangements. If you are a group of singles or young people who do not mind sleeping a lot to a room you can easily fit 10 people in bedrooms. The downstairs bedrooms are small, but the beds are great sizes. A queen and full in each. The full is a top bunk and is on a pulley system. If you don't use it, you can have it be against the ceiling and forget it is there. The master suite is large and has enough room for an air mattress on the floor. I can not say enough about this rental property. Perfect location to beach and bay. Walking distance to PB, short drive to La Jolla, downtown, airport, etc... You will not regret staying here and will feel like you never left home.

This house was perfect for my reunion weekend with my girl cousins. It was literally one block away from the ocean front and one block away from the bay. The photos were exactly how the house looks on the inside, very pottery-barn-ish style and very warm and welcoming. It was nice to have 3 stories to give some separation and have the living room and kitchen on the middle story. The living area was very big and the kitchen was adorable. The rooms downstairs were a little tight but the girls said they were fine. The owner was great in emailing back or answering any questions I had and was very nice to do business with. Cafe mono was literally around the corner and there were a few other cafes on Mission and if you walk down further there is Wavehouse restaurant. We absolutely loved the boogie boards and bikes in the garage and had a great time, will definitely return!

First of all we all want to thank Todd for the pleasure of being able to stay in his home. Perfect location (breakfast burritos and fish tacos steps away) and beautiful home. Beach and Bay steps away. Quiet location with great views. We had a wonderful time and the home had all the amenities one could ask for. Kitchen was perfect for a large group. Great spot to hangout and watch TV and socialize. Master bedroom was lovely. Plenty of room for all 5 of us. Again thanks for a perfect place to stay on our golf vacation, Regards, Harold, Elaine, Alex, Susan and Michael

This is a fabulous home in a great location. Very close to Seaworld. The bay is only yards away and great for little kids, and the ocean side is only a little further and a big hit with the older kids. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home with us. We really appreciated all the little touches like the abundance of beach towels, the toiletries, the basic cooking sundries, the kids books, and the great DVD library. The stroller was also a great plus!

I recently stayed with eleven others, and the house fit all of us easily and comfortably. The provided air mattresses were surprisingly nice to sleep on, and there were plenty of linens and pillows to go with them. The great location, along with the well-stocked supply of towels, books, games, DVDs, and cooking supplies made our beach vacation perfect. The kitchen and main floor was beautiful and inviting, and the roof-top deck was an especially nice place to sit and look out at the bay. We also really enjoyed using the bikes that came with the house. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this rental to others.

Wow! What an amazing property! My family was in town from the Midwest and stayed at the home for a couple days. It was an incredible experience. The home is beautifully decorated and loaded with fun games, book, dvds, and plenty of beach gear. The beds were very comfortablet too! We couldn't have been happier with our experience and will definitely book the home again on their next visit. We see no reason to look at any other homes in the beach community as I'm sure they'd be a let down after our visit at the Tangiers home. Blaine, Encinitas, CA

We loved our time together in this beautiful home. The location is was ideal for us, an extended family with small children. The design of the home and all the furnishings are outstanding. My son-in-law took photos of the kitchen, because he wants to remember some of the details in their own remodeling plans. Every bed, couch and chair was very comfortable. The extra touches of many bikes available to use, helmets, beach towels, sunscreen, boogie boards, etc., made our stay even more fun. We are not only recommending this to friends, but we know that we'll be back!

This is a beautiful home in a wonderful location. 9 Adults stayed over Christmas and had a wonderul time. The main living area/kitchen is superb for lots of family interaction as well as providing a place for several areas of group activities. The kitchen had the basic condiments stocked, which was a huge plus. All the appliances were top of the line and very nice. We've stayed in other rental homes where the bedding was very inadequate, but this is NOT the case here.....bedding was plentiful and very nice. Great bathroom/showers....everything was wonderful! Location was also a big plus.....very close to the bay side beach and a block or so to the ocean.....the neighborhood was very quiet despite the close proximity of everyone. Getting to and from anywhere in San Diego was quite easy. We had no idea if we had picked a good area, but we were not dissappointed at all.....lots of fun restaurants/bar/shops in the area.....Pacific beach area was just a short bike ride away. Walking the beach promenades was a wonderful way to spend your day. Bikes were also provided, which we used quite often. Top notch! YOu won't be dissapointed!

We stayed here in August. We had two toddlers, 1 set of grandparents, and an aunt with us. There was plenty of room for everyone. Particularly, the house has fantastic "great room" where everyone spent most of their time in inside. Access to mission bay is easy (walk 50 feet on a path). Our kids are little, so we stayed away from mission beach, but its ~1 city block away. The two parking spots were key - the mission beach area can be a total drag without parking. The garage is a tight squeeze, but we were able to fit a Corolla and a Ford Explorer in. Really liked the little extras that helped with kids, like the jogging stroller and the gates for the stairs. The owner was very thoughtful with regards to that. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was spotless and had everything needed to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The location is great and all the appliances are top notch. The kitchen is well equipped and large enough for cooking and gathering around the large island. The bedding and furniture is new and very comfortable and the linens were new as well. There is plenty of room and the main level is airy and well designed for cooking and relaxing and having a good time. It was so nice to have bicycles available to enjoy riding all around the bay and oceanside as well as the large collection of books and DVDs.
