The house we rented was even better than the description we had received prior to our visit. The house has a beautiful interior which included both levels and the outside deck is where we spent most of our time lounging and enjoying the view. The house has a lower deck but because of the beautiful weather, we spent all of our time on the upper deck. The property was exceptionally clean and one of the couples with us even mentioned the fact of how clean the house was compared to most rental houses that they had seen. It was fully stocked with all necessities and we were even presented with a special welcoming basket that contained not only food but a listing of the restaurants and activities that we might enjoy. We ate at a variety of restaurants and there was a large variety to choose from. We ate our breakfasts at Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans, we had our evening meals at Golden Corral, Ruby Tuesdays, and Smokey's all located on Highway 27 in Somerset. All had good food and good service. The only problem we had was that the satellite service did not get a signal our last two nights there even though there was not a weather issue. We really didn't spend much time watching TV so it wasn't a major issue for us but it might be for another couple or group who might want to rent this particular house and I am sure it has been taken care of by now. Overall though, this was a great rental property. Very spacious house and a very relaxing view of the river from the deck with all the amenities that you would want and all activities and restaurants only a short distance away in Somerset. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to rent a house in the Nancy-Somerset area.

Everything stated on Homeaway.com was right...and then some! I must confess, I was looking at two other places along with this one in the Lake Cumberland area and had this place ranked third in my head. But once we got there and I saw it with my own eyes and enjoyed it for three nights, there was no question I had it wrong in my mind. It was very well maintained and clean. I have already recommended it to anyone who asks me how the weekend went. The only attraction we enjoyed was boating and this house was very close to a marina (just a couple minutes away). We were celebrating my brother losing his bachelor status and the day after we got back he texted me and said, "Thanks for an amazing weekend!" I responded with, "You're welcome! But I was only one eleventh of the equation." As only ten of us went, I was including the house itself.

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Your vacation home is wonderful! We didn't get to enjoy the lake because it was cold! We were here for my son's wedding - and we had a little snow. Your greeters were so nice. Mary Ann had saved the wedding announcement from the local paper for me. Having a "home" was so much better than having hotel rooms. We were very comfortable, and able to cook meals and wash clothes and enjoy our time together. The basement was a perfect place for my son and his groomsmen to hang out and have fun. Thanks for allowing us to use your lovely home!

You have a very beautiful home! We found it to be very peaceful and like everyone else, we loved the view! We had our entire family here for a long weekend getaway. My oldest daughter found the basement to be like another apartment with lots of room for she had 2 little ones to care for. The weather was wonder for we enjoyed the lake, boating, tubing and skiing. We enjoyed one evening at Lee's Ford Marina Restaurent and also made a little trip to Honey's Farm where we purchased the best apple and peach fried pies!! Thank you for opening your lovely home for us to enjoy!

What a wonderful, comfortable home with an awesome view. Your home is very accommodating and well furnished with all the necessities. Great place, great view. All the comforts of home. Three couples came down from Ohio and we each had our own level. We enjoyed the lake for three days as be brought two boats with us.

Thank you for allowing us the pleasure of using your home. It is quite beautiful. The view from the deck is spectacular and we loved being able to enjoy it each morning and evening. Being so close to Lee's Ford, which is where we normally put our boat in, was a big plus! We had 5 kids between our 2 families and they loved having the lower level to themselves. We hope to use your home again. Thanks once again for sharing your house. This was our second stay and we're planning to stay again this summer.

Thank you so much for allowing us to use your home. We are from Danville, but had a family from Arkansas visiting. We had a wonderful time going to the lake, riding the tube, skiing and swimming. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake from the deck and used the grill often. It was great to have everything we needed to feel right at home. WE have rented homes in the past and the only thing we missed is having a ping pong table. WE still had a blast. Thanks again!

WOW! We were so pleasantly surprised and didn't want to leave!!! The house was wonderful, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was so fully equipped -- just like home! We cooked almost all of our meals there and ate all of our meals on the deak -- a breath taking view! The six of us had one super weekend in Somerset. We rented a pontoon and photographed Lake Cumberland. When we took a ride to Sinking Valley Winery where they treated us to tastes of their delicious fruity wines. What a story from tobacco farm to vineyard! Dinner reservations at the River House made our day complete. We grilled steaks on the deck and played games. Had a glorious time entertaining ourselves right here where nothing is lacking.

Your home was beautiful and the accommodations were great!! The house was VERY clean when we arrived (we have stayed other places that we had to clean before we got settled - not fun) and the kitchen was well stocked with useful items - pots, storage containers, grill utensils - it made cooking easy! The room layout was also great. We also liked how close to town we were. We visited the water park and the county park with the kids - they loved it. I would say the only thing we have had in the past that we did not have this time was a screened-in porch - but the basement was plenty big to play games after the kids went to bed. All in all we had a wonderful time! Thanks again for letting us use your home! Have a wonderful summer.
