Located on the third Floor - the Kauhale Makai Resort includes a Sparkling Tile Pool, Hot Tub, Kiddie Pool, Putting Green and Volleyball court. Our guests are welcome to use the four public tennis courts located south of Kauhale Makai. There is nothing between the resort and the beach except for a large grassy area sprinkled with palm trees - no road to cross! Yes, Kauhale Makai is located right on the beach.

This condo was recently renovated with new kitchen cabinets, new appliances, nice furnishings, fully equipped. Cool, sparkling tile floor throughout! King-Size Bed (Sealy mattress) - there is a day bed in the dining area for an extra person if needed, No stairs to climb... Just steps from the elevator, CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING (ask before you rent elsewhere, many other complexes say they have a/c, but it's just a small window unit, not capable of cooling the entire condo). Sorry - No Pets (sorry, condo rules), This is a Non-Smoking Condo.

Walk along the beach to Azeka Place for shopping and restaurants, or to the Pacific Whale Foundation's outpost for viewing whales in season (Mid December to mid May). Only ten miles to Kahului Airport. Central to most everything on the island of Maui including all the best beaches.

We know you want to get away from it all, but it's also nice to be able to stay in touch, so this condo includes HIGH SPEED WIFI Internet. Spend your time on the beach, not waiting to download your e-mail via dialup!!!

You can look high and low and not find a nicer condo for this price (see rates below). We can offer these prices because we specialize in weekly rentals arriving/departing on Saturday. Often our weekly rate is cheaper than other places for a 5-6 night stay... so even if you can't stay a whole week, check out our calendar (below) for your dates - this is the condo for you.

VRBO Bear on the lanai

VRBO Bear stayed here - 03/01/2003 Aloha from Kihei, Maui!!! My VRBO buddies and I had a GREAT VACATION in this condo. One of my favorite things was just sitting on the lanai, looking at the ocean and watching the palm trees wave in the breeze. This condo has a HIGH SPEED Internet access, which is a beary nice touch that you don't often find. My human buddies wanted to stay in the condo and "surf the net", but I made them get off their duffs and hit the beach for some real Maui surfing action. Kihei has many beary nice beaches to choose from - all close by...

We went snorkeling and we couldn't believe the BIG TURTLES that swam with us... They weren't even afraid of me!!! We built a HUGE sand castle on the beach and did some body surfing too... After a long day on the beach, a bear can get really sleepy - so it was great to come back to the condo and hibernate a bit on that big KING SIZE bed... This condo is so convenient to EVERYTHING and has just about all a human could want for a beary nice vacation without spending too much $$$. The view is so relaxing... Oh yeah... And the pool is great too. In the evening, it was beary ALOHA to watch the sunset. If you get a chance to come to Maui, you will like this place...

  • We had a lovely time at the village by the sea. We stayed there for 1 week at the beginning of May 2009. The location is excellent. Quiet, lots of birds, an ocean view yet still very close to nearby shopping and restaurants. The condo was fully stocked with many dishes, utensils, barbeque utensils and even a bit of condiments (left from previous guests i am sure)! There was also a beach umbrella, snorkel gear and boogie boards to use. Our only concern was the condition of the floors and area rugs....could use a bit of a scrubbing. I am sure, though, with such a high turnaround it is difficult to keep things 100% clean. All in all, we were happy with the condo and full kitchen. Nice pool and hot tub too!

  • We felt we were at home the moment we entered the place. Everything that we needed was there in the Condo. We did pack a lot more as we were not aware of the utensils and stuff. The location of the condo is great. Close proximity to the beach and grocery stores (Safeway, Long Drugs) was very convienent. Please go through the guest book in the condo for some excellent tips on sight seeing. We very much enjoyed the TV and unlimited access to Wifi, this helped me stay connected and plan for the day. I will defintely recommend this place to anyone going there. We will go back again.

  • We obviously arrived right after the last people who entered a comment on March 23/09 and we echo their remarks. We even took the same trip to Hana with the same outfit, partially on their recommendation. This unit is very comfortable and well equipped. Our only disappointment was with the hot tub. Condo management doesn't turn on the heat until 4 p.m. which we think is a mistake as people like to enjoy it all day, and they are having thermostat problems and the temperature by 7-8 p.m. is much too hot. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. We also enjoyed having the wi-fi in the unit as well as the new flat screen TV.

  • The condo is really amazing!It is tastefully furnished and the kitchen is so well eqipped.The bed is the most comfortable bed (away from home) that we have ever slept in.We enjoyed early mornings and late afternoons on the lanai.The building is clean and very quiet.We used the barbecue and the laundry facilities with no problems. This was our 35th anniversary celebration and we were looking for a relaxing trip.It was everything we wanted.If you are a first time VRBO user, as we were,don't feel hesitant about renting this condo! We hope to be back and we will certainly rent this condo again! Just a couple of tips: bring your Safeway card as it's not far and you can get all your supplies there.If you feel inclined, Maui now has a great bus service.You can travel to the next town for a dollar.We were going to rent a car but we found this was just as convenient.Our splurge was the Hana tour with Valley Isle Excursions. That way, we both got to see everything and the driver/guide gave us so much information and photo ops.We hope you enjoy your vacation as much as we did!

  • We had a great time in Maui, this is the second year at this VRBO condo and felt right at home. We had a little problem with the living room TV while the bedroom one worked fine and we told Patti we were fine with one TV. But voila! next day we had a brand new flatscreen. Talk about service!

  • My husband and I spent a week in this lovely condo this past July. This was our sixth trip to Maui, and we have stayed in a different place each trip. I think this was my favorite place so far, and I would gladly reserve the condo again. It is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable, and well located. The view alone is worth the price; the condo is icing on the cake!

  • One of the best condos we have ever stayed in - very nicely decorated & well equipped. The kitchen is the best equipped that we have ever encountered. The views are good, the building is in the quiet end of Kihei, the sunsets are memorable. The wireless internet worked well for us. A greatt place to stay. We will definitely recommend it &, should we return to Maui we will plan well ahead so that we can return to our maui home away from home

  • Thank you for sharing this condo. It is very comfortable.We had gotton married at Makena Cove on the 30th of August and spent 2 weeks here.The Air conditioning was a must.It is a very rural area.The drives everywhere were not that far,except to road to Hana.It was very convenient and comfortable.Except no internet.We would stay here again and highly recommend this place.Thanks again and hope to comeback soon
