Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1985
My first visit to Cape Cod was as a middle school student from Connecticut. It was love at first sight - I said to myself, Someday, I'm going to live here. And, in 1979, with my husband and five children, ranging in age from 3-13, I did.
The family run motel business that caused the move, however, proved way too overwhelming for the busy life required to raise a family. After 5 years of that, the business sold and the house at 90 Ireland Way was built and became home.
Cape Cod Community College is a wonderful resource for education on the Cape. It provided me the opportunity to get an education, be a stay at home mom and assist (bookkeeping) the entrepreneur husband who was then building houses for a living. (90 Ireland Way is the result of that endeavor).
Renting the house in the summer, after the children were grown and on their own, was the plan. However, after graduation from an off-Cape college, it was evident that my marriage couldn't survive the change.
Renting the house then became essential for repairs and maintenance.
For the past 9 years, many different families have enjoyed a summer vacation on Cape Cod in this wonderful family home. The house has become even more important to the children - all adults now and some with their own children - than before. Indeed, my oldest granddaughter (named for me!), is 17 this year!!
Of all the holidays we've enjoyed over the years, this past Christmas was the best. My 10 year old granddaughter, Jess, said to me during the Wii tournament, "Gammie, it's not about the Wii - it's the people". Yes, wisdom from a child. It was Jess who insisted that another Wii be purchased so the summer guests could enjoy playing the different games.
We all hope you create special family memories at a home that has done the same for us.
Families are so precious. And creating memorable experiences is what bonds us together even more. We sincerely hope you enjoy the best vacation ever!
Why the Owner Chose Eastham
Eastham is delightful: 3 miles wide from ocean to bay and lots of beautiful ponds as well. It is a family focused resort town boasting the National Seashore Visitor's Center. Beach days at either bay or ocean beaches or ponds will put you into a new relaxed mode. Bike on the rail trail, relax on the expansive new deck and just "be" on your vacation. Great new seafood store (Mac's) will provide the freshest locally caught fish or eat out at one of the many restaurants. Grilling on the deck is definitely an easy option.
The Unique Benefits of this House
90 Ireland Way was built as our family home in 1984. Five children enjoyed growing up in Eastham and many of their local friends considered the house "home" as well. Since they are now grown and living alone or with husbands and children, the house has been enjoyed by summer vacationers for the past 9 years. During the off-season, we gather for holidays and memorable occasions. Add 90 Ireland Way to your vacation memories - it's a house meant to be enjoyed for just this purpose.

My family as well as my sister's family thoroughly enjoyed this home. There were 11 of us (ages 2, 10, 13, 20, 23, 27, 30, 46, 46, 54, 56) and it fit each of us perfectly! The house offered more gathering areas than we could actually use. We loved all being together in the expansive living room in the evenings and did not even need to use the 2 downstairs family rooms. The mattresses and linens made for comfortable sleeping. We loved the piano, the wifi access, and the kitchen (which had more than enough silverware, dishes, glasses, etc.). We cooked a great deal and it was well-equipped for that purpose. The grill was great for our cookout-style meals. The yard had so many different activity areas ( basketball court, volleyball area, swingset) and the expansive deck was fantastic. The owner provided so many conveniences - towels, sports equipment, beach chairs, sand toys, and more. The hot/cold outdoor shower was perfect after a day at the beach! Up through the very last day, we kept finding more wonderful things about the house! The description and photos of this property are very accurate. The only thing I might add would be that access to the main part of the house is via either outdoor or indoor stairs. Someone who has difficulty with stairs might not do well at this property. We had the opportunity to meet the owner when we arrived and she was as delightful in person as she had been in our correspondance. She clearly is personally connected to this property. We look for vacation homes that have that feel of "home" and this property does just that. We plan to lease it the next time we holiday on the Cape.

Just to give you an idea of the size of the house, I booked a stay for 12 adult males for a golfing/fishing trip. The deck is expansive, the main house has 5 bedrooms, and the studio is just great. Noone bumped into each other, its that big. Whether its an extended family or a couples, or a large group, this is the place. I will go back again and again and again. I have fallen in love with the quiet. the beaches are close by, this is the outer cape at its finest.

Vacationing in this house is like "going home" but being on vacation at the same time. It is comfortable, convenient and the best "get away" I schedule. LOVE the new deck and look forward to returning in the summer to enjoy it. The newly decorated bedrooms are also lovely.

It's nice to have a home away from home when you travel. We had so many wonderful memories of our time in the home. The whole family was able to sleep comfortably, the beds were just right. We enjoyed our walks around the quiet neighborhood and biking right to the trail from the house was wonderful. This is the perfect home to have a little time to yourself and be with the family at the same time, spacious and nicely decorated. The kitchen has all you need to make wonderful meals. It was great to have the beach towels and chairs right at the house so it was one less thing to pack. After the beach we enjoyed showering outside, playing basketball, badmitten, and watching the children on the swingset. We highly recommend the home to other families!

This home offers everything your family might need no matter what Cape Cod weather may turn out to be. The location in Eastham is ideal for nearby ocean and bay beaches as well as freshwater ponds. As the description will tell you, there are many other activities nearby so you won't run out of places to visit for sightseeing or dining out. But, you won't need to eat out because the kitchen, dining room, and lovely deck provide the right setting for enjoyable casual meals. Our family found the expansive house provided plenty of space fpr all of us. Several families traveled from across the country to spend the week together. This property was terrific for our vacation, a visit to 'Bay State in '08'!!

We loved our trip to the Cape and this house was the perfect fit for our family. The kids had plenty of room to play and a spacious yard to explore. We were able to have adult dinners while the kids entertained themselves in the downstairs playroom with videos. So close to the bike trail and the bay beaches as well as plenty of ponds. While the kids napped in the afternoon, I was able to sun myself on the expansive back deck. It is a truly perfect, quiet neighborhood. I definitely recommend this to other families!
