Everything about renting his house was positive from description (in detail) of the location, house amenities, activities in the area. It was perfect for 2 adult couples with tastefully decorated rooms, updated bathrooms, and complete updated kitchen. Most of all, we liked the access to the golf course, pools, hiking trails and short drive to Gualala for groceries, restaurants, shops. Pefect place for very relaxed, laid back community, which is what we were looking for! Would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone.

Beautiful home perched high on a hill with panoramic white and blue water view! Newly remodeled, very nice clean, and comfortable.. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Sea Ranch property, surrounding area, and hiking. The seals were on Tidepool beach...quite a treat to see them come ashore..

This home is an excellent and very comfortable property. Kitchen and bathroom are new and a new second story deck is a delightful spot for a picnic. The view of the coast is incredible.

Our stay at September Haus was much better than we ever anticipated. The view of the ocean, forest, and meadow was gorgeous. The home was immaculately well kept and squeaky clean. The kitchen was "designer like" with top of the line appliances. It was so well stocked with pots and pans, etc. that it made us want to cook instead of wanting to dine out! The beds were extremely comfortable on the firm side which we prefer. The leather couches were also comfortable accompanied with really nice and warm wool blankets. We enjoyed the wood fireplace with the cool outside temperature. The master bathroom is a showcase with a double headed shower and jacuzzi tub for 2. It was luxurious! We had no idea of how many miles of trails along the coast and forest that Sea Ranch offers. As we hiked, we came upon a marine reserve with lots of seals. We also discovered the tide pools. The hiking was the main focus of our stay and Sea Ranch offers so much! We also enjoyed the beautiful tennis courts (the ocean as the backdrop) and the heated lap pool facility. If you like gelato, Trinks in Gualala makes their own gelato just as they do in Italy. Truly authentic and delicious, so hike first and then enjoy "guilt free" gelato. The only "bummer" was that Trinks is only open 3 nights a week, so you need to check their hours!!! Overall, our stay was extremely peaceful with really nice accomodations. Sea Ranch is a great place to hike and September Haus is a wonderful place to stay. We rate it with 5 out of 5 stars.
Owner response:We are delighted when our guests feel that the September Haus listing not only matched their expectations but also exceeded it. When sharing our home with vacationers, we want it to be a rewarding experience for them which we strive for by offering quality and paying attention to details. Our reward is their compliments! Thank you!

I have been to September House at least six times and it is like a home-away-from home. Extremely comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and fabulous views of forest, meadow, and ocean, make this an ideal spot to rest, rejuvenate, read, walk, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Northern California coast.

Our family has seen some wonderful coasts including o the south of England, o the west of Ireland o the east of Maine. The Sea Ranch was a most worthy addition to the list. Once we survived a harrowing 12:30 AM arrival via Mountain View Road from Ukiah, September Haus provided 3 ½ days of rest and relaxation. Cool weather, trails, the beach and golf - hard to beat. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

As we entered, my wife saw a wild turkey. It was an omen. We have had beautiful weather and have enjoyed exploring the area. Your house offers a perfect framing for our impressions on our first trip here. We would enjoy another stay. Thank you for making your home available. PS. We so enjoyed the view from your LR windows. It is beyond price!

Beautiful house situated on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Superb views, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped for a relaxing getaway. Convenient to numerous hiking trails, with a short walk to ocean bluffs and a small beach. Owner was very helpful, providing detailed information and tips on local interest. Enjoyed our stay tremendously and would definitely return!

This was a short but wonderful weekend. Lucky us – it was brilliantly sunny on Saturday and most of Sunday. The view of the meadows and ocean was spectacular – even better than the pictures. We felt right at home, enjoying the kitchen and bathrooms in particular – so luxurious. We cooked both nights and enjoyed each other’s company – how nice to be away from Internet! The pool and tennis courts were perfect – not crowded at all. I hope to come back and stay at September Haus again.

Our family recently had the pleasure of staying in September Haus for two days --we really wish we could have stayed longer! The photos on the VRBO site don't totally capture the beautiful views of the ocean and the forest that one has staying in this well-appointed home. We loved having coffee and mimosas on the upstairs deck with the almost 180 degree view of the Sea Ranch coastline. From the living room, dining room and kitchen one has the pleasure of also seeing the coastline and the forest. The architectural design of the homes nearby ensures that each home has considerable privacy in relation to the other homes nearby. Everything was very peacefull and quiet and we enjoyed being up on the hillside with an overall view of the forest and coastline and we were also out of the wind that one experiences close to the bluff near the ocean. Inside the home, we enjoyed the recently renovated bathrooms (jacuzzi bath in the master suite) and the well-stocked kitchen---loved the Caphalon pans! The only thing I couldn't find (and maybe I overlooked it) was an ice cream scoop--but we certainly made do by using large spoons. We really enjoyed taking the Bluff Trail. We started at the Sea Ranch Lodge and made our way a good way down the length of the trail (sometime it would be nice to walk the whole length--it's ten miles long). Only a very small section is open to the public but when staying at September Haus one has I.D. cards that will admit you to all the Sea Ranch amenities--the trail, recreation centers, tennis courts etc. I would definitely recommend for a couple or a family stay in this well-kept property. While we were there, the owner called to see if everything was fine and whether we needed any assistance.

Our stay at September Haus was absolutely wonderful. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We felt at home right away and the view from the living room is spectacular! For nature lovers, it is the best of both worlds...the ocean at your front door and the wooded forest with hiking trails at your back door. We were sad to leave but will definitely return!

January here proved to be very special – a raging storm, wild towering surf that gave a new meaning to awesome as does the wide sweeping view of Coast and Meadow that overwhelms the entire living space. We loved being in your jewel of a home with its unexpected privacy, spacious spa bathroom in the trees, wonderful music and magical daybreak. –Thank you for the special touches and for making September Haus available for our quintessential Sea Ranch getaway. 1/10

Thank you so very much for allowing us to spend these past days in this special place. September Haus has been for us a wellspring of companionship, love, and peace. From the moment we were greeted by your welcoming note until we stood at the window to gaze one more time at the Pacific, we have felt at home and content. Whatever miraculous spirit first brought you here, urged you to make it your own and moved you to share it so generously with others, that spirit still abides in this house. We enjoyed walks on the trails and stargazing on the balcony. We spent afternoons on the beach searching for shells and other sea-borne treasures and watching seals playing in the channel while gulls and pelicans soared over head. Our time at September Haus allowed us to reconnect with old friends over dinner, spend precious time with our son who now lives too far away from us, and find solitude in our own thoughts through painting, writing and music. 9/09

What a delightful visit! We hiked, rode bikes, sat on the beach, had a dinner at the Lodge and even ventured to the Annapolis Winery (locals say their wines are improving.) September Haus was the perfect respite, with spectacular views and all the comforts of a well designed and smartly appointed home Most of all, it was a special place to relax, renew and rediscover our communion with nature. Etched in our minds is the image of a deer and her two fawns that we met while walking on the bluff. Thank you for being such gracious and thoughtful hosts! We relish the opportunity to return! P.S. Loved the appliances and the cookware . . . beautiful, clean and upscale! 7/09

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at September Haus! Your home was lovely and wonderfully inviting. We so appreciated not having to haul sheets and towels with us and your kitchen was incredibly well equipped. The views were beautiful and we enjoyed a little picnic dinner on the deck upstairs watching the sunset. We will definitely be back! Thanks for opening your little slice of heaven to us. July 2009

We came to Sea Ranch for its architectural heritage and fame, but we have been seduced by waves, wind and water. September Haus is wonderful and we love your “restoration” and the ambiance, to say nothing of the bathroom. It truly is my ideal – heat, a Jacuzzi, a shower with the ability to set the correct temperature. . . . We are so sorry we did not plan a longer vacation. . . . 5/09

The following morning, we were overwhelmed with the beauty and majesty of the view. God truly is an amazing artist. – We enjoyed everything about our stay, the lovely home, well-stocked kitchen, warm people and small town feel. – The trails were such a joy and the wildlife was such a sight! We will cherish our memories of Sea Ranch and your home. 3/09

We were so surprised when we walked into your lovely home and saw the “pano” view. – Your remodel is beautiful, especially the kitchen. A joy to cook in. – We hiked the forest trail and the beach trail. Enjoyed lunch at the Lodge, went to the Farmers Market. We enjoyed the quiet and the beauty of the special spot. – Thank you for making it so special with your little special touches: the nice pots and pans and beautiful dishes; the bottle of wine to greet us. – We for sure will be back to visit! 7/08

Thank you for sharing your great home with us. It was a calm and relaxing place of rest. Everything in your home is very clean, the beds are comfortable and so is the furniture and for a family of readers the good lighting was appreciated. The view from your great room is magnificent. We saw deer, heard wild turkeys and spied on vultures hunting in the afternoon. We would definitely come back to this house again. The cook enjoyed your great kitchen with many great pots and pans. The appliances are excellent and we can tell they are new. 5/08
