My husband and I went to Kauai for a late honeymoon and we couldn't have found a better place to stay! We spent a lot of time looking for a nice place on the beach, and although it is not directly on the beach (but within walking distance) the view and the sounds of the the waves were magical. We also found that it was a very convenient location because of all the things we did. We were able to enjoy the whole island without feeling like we were spending the whole day driving. Thanks again Andrea for helping to make this a very memorable vacation.

This condo is located within a short walk to a good safe beach on Kauai and it's within driving distance to both the northern and southern coastlines. The added benefit of being on the Marriots resort has its perks as well. The management was easy to deal with and catered to our every need. The condo is clean and well maintained....very contemporary design. We absolutely loved Kauai and if your looking to explore all that Kauai has to offer I couldn't think of a better spot to stay due to its central location in Lihue.

Definitely 5 star accommodation! It was a perfect getaway waking up to the sounds of the waves and amazing view with the floor to ceiling windows. Great location for visiting the island and making all the sightseeing stops not to mention conveniently close the airport. We will definitely be back!

A five star experience. A perfect location with magnificent views of Kalapaki beach and harbor, the photographs do not do it justice. Very relaxing watching the surfers and listening to the waves underneath the balcony. Easy access to the Marriott facilities was an added bonus. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. We decided to stay at this villa based on the glowing reviews on this site, and it exceeded our expectations. I can't add much beyond what all the others have said, so I'll just list a few of the things we were able to enjoy during our stay: -- Seeing dolphins following a barge coming into the bay from the trail a minute's walk from the room -- Easy access to nearby restaurants -- Taking a short walk and elevator ride down to the Marriott to use the giant pool and fitness center -- Watching the moon reflecting over the water while drifting off to sleep -- Use of guidebooks, beach chairs, towels, snorkeling gear, umbrellas, etc. -- Taking advantage of its central location to explore the island in either direction without spending all day in the car. If we get a chance to make it back to Kauai, we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect, perfect, perfect. Perfect suite, spacious with spa-like bath. Very clean with a nice little kitchen. Perfectly quiet with waves lulling us to sleep every night. Mahalo Andrea dnd Gary! We did not want to leave after our week. Every comfort imaginable and all supplies provided for a wonderful stay. The previous reviews seem accurate and well-stated. Most of our week, we had no car but this was not an issue. Be sure to get to a "sunshine market" at which local farmers and gardeners sell their produce and flowers. We bought fresh fruit and made frozen drinks the rest of the week. Bus fare into Lihue is 50 cents or 25 cents, depending on your age. Get the Marriot Guest Pass and you can avail yourselves of the concierge services, as well as the pool, beach and towels. Paul and Nancy- TX

Wow - What a Fantastic Home

This is a beautiful place for a relaxing get-a-way. We had the gentle breeze and sound of the waves lulling us to sleep at night. The property is clean and contemporary, the owner has many comforts of home and the kitchenette was well stocked with dishes, coffee maker & cups, glasses, corkscrew, toaster, microwave, mini refrigerator, etc. Several times we ate on the balcony and watched the sunset and activity on the bay. Great features include: outdoor shower, beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards available to use, washer, dryer, beutiful decor, plenty of drawers & hangers. The location is great because the unit is very private but with a short walk you are on the bay, at Dukes, The Marriott or beautiful walking paths. This location is also ideal on the island because getting to Kapaa or Poipu is a 20 minute drive. There are two flights of stairs to go down so this would not be ideal for the elderly or handicapped.

This was an amazing property. The sliding glass doors opened right up so the beauty from outside came in. It was well equipped with a full cannister of coffee on arrival. The bed was comfortable. Wonderful soaps. Air conditioning worked great. Very classy decor. Comfortable chairs on the balcony to enjoy morning coffee and the view. Marriott Hotel very accessbile by elevator. The owners have done a tremendous job in superbly appointing the interior to this gem on the cliff. The place has everything you can think of and oozes with quality finishes. The lift down to the Resort is just what you need after an exhausting day paddling boarding, sunbathing or swimming. Lovely touch having the Fodors and Let's Go Kauai in the room so you could plan to be adventurous and then be more like us and opt for the total relaxation plan. My only critique would be the beach umbrella needs to be a little sturdier as it doesn't fare well to the island zephyrs. We went on a trip to some of the other lovely beaches and the umbrella would have been a great ally. We loved it and definitely plan on returning. Mahalo

We stood at a 5star resort in one of the premiere places of Kauai. And that didn't compare to the reaction my wife had when stepping into this unit. It was amazing. Some of my favorite points: - Extremely close to the airport. - plenty of local places to eat and shop. - Beach access is less than a 5 min walk. - The owner is very reachable and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. - Good central location that makes traveling to the north or south shore easy. - Extremely relaxing & spacious unit. Overall I would recommend this to anybody looking for a amazing place that's quiet, remote & peaceful..... yet still close to a lot of action on kuai.

The suite is designed perfectly to enjoy views of the ocean from almost anywhere in the unit (including the bath tub!) and the balcony is the perfect place to watch the surfers and look at the amazing stars! We loved being able to surf, paddleboard, swim,use the hotel amenities, and eat at Duke's without having to drive anywhere!! This was a dream vacation for us and we hope to come back and stay with you again. Thanks!

Great Villa

Stayed Aug 8 thru Aug 17 2011. Villa is wonderful place to stay on Kauai. Having coffee in the morning overlooking the bay and all was very relaxing. The best thing is you have the privacy of a private villa and also can have access to the Marriot resort (fee required) including the pool and workout facilities. Escape the hotel and kids and come back to the private quiet villa. Andrea keeps the unit very clean and has everything you need- only thing missing is a full kitchen w/ a stove but we made do w/ the microwave oven. Having the full size washer/ dryer on site allows you to enjoy Hawaii w/o packing clothes for 2 weeks. Restaurants on the island are ok in my opinion- nothing to write home about. We found that Kalapaki Joes which is a sports bar just down the road had the best beer selection on the island and very good food. Also did not have the jacked up Hawaii prices that you commonly see. Na Pali coast tour on catamaran (sp) was great but be prepared for the seas and salt water in your eyes on the way up to the north side of island.

My wife and I were already familiar with the Kalapaki Beach before we arrived but had never dreamed of staying somewhere this nice. The design was top notch! Our favorite thing to do was sit out on the balcony in the mornings and evening. It overlooked the whole bay and was perfect for relaxing.

One word...WOW! Okay, maybe one more - AMAZING! The pictures although beautiful do not do this wonderful and luxurious villa justice. I was skeptical of "trying before buying" but the owners have done an incredible job in making sure anyone who stays in the place falls in love. The mornings, afternoons, evenings were spectacular. My wife and I stayed at the Kalapacki Bay suite the weekend of June 17, 2011. Not only were we attracted to the beautiful view of Kalapacki Bay, but the Suite itself was stunning. Everything you would need was on site, including use of snorkel gear and a washer and dryer. Andrea helped arrange for passes to the Marriott next door so we could use the beach and pool too. We had stayed at the Marriott previsously, and would decide to stay again at the Suite here if given the chance. It helped finish off our days in Kauai in such a perfect way, and would recommend it to anyone to stay there.

Aloha! Firstly, to get some of the review questions out of the way, the listing was definitely as was described! The photos are accurate but they do not do this place justice! Rent this unit out to see for yourselves! The unit is very clean and well maintained. Andrea (the owner) could be contacted easily should the need arise, but we did not see the need to do so during our stay. This unit is conveniently located near the airport as well as within walking distance to restaurants and beautiful Kalapaki Bay. We very highly recommend renting this unit when you're looking for a romantic and/or relaxing trip to Kauai! Now for our personal review. We arrived at the Garden Isle of Kauai and, weary from our long trip from one corner of the United States to the next, we were greeted by the stunning view from the unit and the surrounding area! The soothing sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below, the rolling green mountains in the far distance, the serenity of the surrounding environment and the beautiful moonlight (we arrived at a time just as it was at full moon) illuminating the lanai at night makes this unit perfect for a romantic getaway! Lazing on the comfortable lanai chairs overlooking the beach, or just relaxing in the bathtub with the sliding doors open to the sea completes our rejuvenating and relaxing trip. My only regret? Not being able to rent the unit longer due to our tight schedule! Mahalo for your warm welcome, Andrea and we hope to return again someday!

Island Dream

In our previous visits to Kalapaki Bay we sat on the beach and daydreamed about what it would be like to live in one of the beautiful houses on the cliff overlooking the bay. When I found Andrea and Gary's house on VRBO I couldn't believe our luck. The house is unbelievably beautiful. Every aspect is immaculate and exceptional. The decor is top of the line. The sliding glass doors are a wonder. The house is really well-equipped. Even the washer and dryer are top of the line. The balcony is superb. Going to sleep to the sound of the ocean is just a wonderful experience. This place is a dream come true. Andrea and Gary were so good to us. They really do care about providing an excellent guest experience.

We had a wonderful first-time visit to Kauai, with beautiful accommodations at this Villa. Very private, and quiet apart from the delightful sounds of the surf coming in. Great beach for relaxing or for learning surfing. Convenient access by car to either South or North shore regions of Kauai for sightseeing from here, especially recommend a boat tour of the Na Pali coast (dolphins, whales, sea turtles as well as the stunning coastline). Hope to be back some day soon!

This was a phenomenal experience in an outstanding vacation rental. The condo is beautifully designed and has gorgeous interior, beautiful furniture and decor, and floor to ceiling windows with stunning view of the bay. Property was extremely clean and well maintained, and identical to photos posted on website. There is use of a small fridge, coffee maker (and Kona coffee provided!), utensils and dishes/ plates. There is also a washer dryer, outside shower, and snorkelling equipment the owner was so kind to let us use. It is a short walk to the Marriot which has an amazing pool. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, scenery is breathtaking, and it was a joy to come home every evening to such a comfortable, luxurious place! Absolutely Five Star accomadation. I would recommend without question, and can't wait to go back!!

Spent an amazing 9 days here at the turn of the year. The apartment is faultless with an amazing view of the bay. It was so nice to have the privacy of the apartment but be so close to the Marriott resort with all their facilities. There are also shops and restaurants just outside of the resort so not having a car was not an issue at all. We had a fantastic time here and hope to return again one day.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary on Kauai and couldn't have asked for a better location or accommodations. The suite is clean and modern with all the amenities you could could possibly need. The view from the lanai is excellent. The guest pass at the Marriott gets you access to the beautiful pool and beach on the property and all their amenities-towels,workout room restaurants etc. There is a handy elevator from the property down to the hotel. The suite looked exactly as portrayed on the website and the owners were very helpful and friendly. The location in Lihue is great for all the sights to see in Kauai as it is very centrally located. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants a private retreat with all the perks of a big resort.

You know when you get so excited about staying somewhere, that you're almost afraid to see it because your expectations are now set too high? When I arrived with my new bride to our cliffside villa it was exactly what I was hoping for! Modern, simple chic design, amazing view, and completely romantic! The neighborhood is also well connected to the Kaua'i Marriot Hotel since elevator access is permitted to those staying in the Kalapaki Cottages. We were able to utilize the Marriot's pool and fantastic restaurants, while also maintaining complete privacy when desired. I highly recommend this place!

An amazing stay at an incredible suite, definitely 5 star, will stay again. The photos cannot do it justice. great walks from the house around the beautiful golf course. My wife and I booked a last second trip to Kauai and stayed at this amazing property for a wonderful and relaxing week. If you are in need of some serious decompression time (we were) in a private, quiet, relaxing and very well appointed spot- this is it. It was nice to not be in the "middle of it all" with the noise and screaming kids at a hotel. However, it is just a short walk down to the Marriott (there is even an elevator) for pool time, sushi, and screaming kids. Loved having the wireless network, flat screen TV with a great movie selection. The bed was fantastic and that is saying something - we sleep on a DUX bed at home. We loved the decor- clean, contemporary, luxurious! And the shower was the awesome. What is the best recommendation I can give? By going back again next year. And, that is what we are going to do!

I can't begin to express how incredible this condo is. The pictures do absolutely NO justice! Andrea is obviously a very meticulous person, and we were stunned by the high-end finishes and overall cleanliness of this place! The view is to die for, and you can't beat sitting out on the deck, watching the sun go down (or come up) and checking out all the paddle-boarder/ surfers in the bay! Lihue is a great location to stay, as it is half way between the Southern and Northern parts of the island. The neighborhood is safe, gated, and located within walking distance of any amenity you need. I can't recommend this condo enough! I did EXTENSIVE research before booking with Andrea, and her rental far exceeded our expectations! Romantic, modern, clean, and immaculately designed.... just stunning. We visit Kauai every year as my parents live there and have finally found a place that exceeds many lodging before it in Kauai AND all over the world. Everything has been thought of and beats staying in the actually hotel (washer/dryer) DvD's, amazing view and an elevator that takes you down to the beach!!! Love the solid decor that feels sturdy over the water but warm and cozy so you don't want to leave the room! It's also the best located rental we have ever stayed at! Truly perfect in every way!!

The Perfect Place for a Couple!

We spent 9 days in Kauai for our honeymoon and stayed in this condo throughout. It is full of perfect amenities. We loved the floor to ceiling sliding windows as well as the sliding doors to the bathroom. The very tall ceilings make this studio appear huge. It seemed like everything was thought of - from the duel bathroom sinks, to a refrigerator and microwave, dishware and silverware, and of course the gray tile floors that felt amazingly soft on bare feet. Our favorite spot was the balcony where we would eat breakfast every morning while watching the sea turtles and surfers below. This was our first trip to Kauai and we didn't know a lot about where to stay on the island. We randomly found this listing on the internet and we were hoping it wasn't too good to be true. It certainly met all expectations. Forget about people telling you to stay on the North Shore, this condo has everything you would want and is located in the best spot from which to reach everything - stores and beaches. We would love to return to this condo someday.

We've stayed in several condos in Kauai over the last couple of years and this by far exceeds the rest. It was immaculate in terms of cleanliness and the design, interior furnishings and amenties were top notch. The photos and description on the website were accurate, although photos just can't capture the ambience of the place. We will highly recommend this place to friends and family members, particularly for couples who want a luxurious escape or for honeymooners. Andrea was very prompt, professional, helpful and kind. One of our favorite restaurants on Kauai is Cafe Coco in Kapaa and the other is Duke's (great fish tacos) just steps away from this suite. Great bay for paddling, kayaking and surfing. Hope you enjoy this suite and Kauai as much as we did!

Wow!!! What a great location. Perched above the waters of Kalapaki Bay. The condo was perfect for celebrating my 50th birthday. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful week in Kauai, staying in this condo. When we first started researching hotels and resorts on the island, nothing got us very excited. We had issues with either location, amenities, or price with pretty much all the places we saw. When we came across this condo, we were immediately interested. Contacting Andrea was very easy, and she was also very friendly and prompt in her responses. The condo turned out to be everything we expected. Everything was in great condition. We loved the open layout of the unit and the privacy of the location. The whole stay was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this condo for any couples looking for a romantic getaway in Kauai!

Wow!!! What a great location. Perched above the waters of Kalapaki Bay. The condo was perfect for celebrating my 50th birthday. Incredible view over the water watching the surfers and sunsets over the mountain. Wouldn't hesitate going again. Say "Hi" to the roosters for me if you go. Thanks Andrea!!!!

This amazingly affordable oceanfront chalet was so luxurious and relaxing and centrally located on the island of Kauai to make your adventures a short ride north or south. Everything about the suite was perfect, from the panoramic views, to the birds who visit throughout the day, to the luxurious ammenities. If you plan to stay on Kauai, stay here and you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I stayed here for our week-long Honeymoon and it was perfect. We loved being able to open the walls to the lanai and have the fresh breeze coming through. The location was ideal, central to everything, yet tucked away enough to feel private. We were able to go on walks down to the beach or restaurants. We loved the modern design and the access of the laundry, boogie boards, beach chairs. It was exactly what we were looking for and we would gladly recommend it to others! Thank you!!!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this property. The owners were welcoming and professional. The photos are accurate depictions of the studio: new, clean, spacious, private, and modern. Traveling to the Islands often feels like falling into a time warp, with many properties offering dated appointments in their poorly maintained lodgings. The Lincoln's studio is appointed to the standards of our mainland homes. We found the nearby beach to be one of the best on Kauai -- good for sunning, swimming, and catching waves. It seemed less congested than its neighbors to the north and south. We give this location and property an enthusiastic two thumbs up.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This unit was a wonderful find for us that had all the advantages of a great oceanside view from the balcony or through a spectacular wall of glass, a beautiful professionally designed contemporary space, large square footage with all necessary kitchen conveniences for light eating, combined with the workout facilities, pool, beach, golf and restaurant conveniences of a 4 star Marriott resort. Wow! What a wonderful spot! We truly could not have asked for a better place to stay. This property made our vacation more relaxing than I could even have imagined! I truly believe no hotel on the island could come close to replicating our experience. Andrea and Gary have created such a beautiful space, equipped with everything to make your trip easy and enjoyable. We can't wait to visit again, and I am certain you will feel the same!

Amazing! We chose this place to stay while we got married, and it did not dissapoint. The way the sliding doors open to the ocean was so cool. We left hem all the way open all night, and fell asleep to the crashing waves.

This place is amazing!! My husband and I were thrilled to spend our honeymoon here. The view over Kalapaki Bay is breathtaking - especially with a full moon! This is a gorgeous place and bigger than we expected - we will absolutely be back!

We stay here in September09'! It was our dream of living. The view, the ocean, the stylish condo, the people! Everything was really great. We love to run in the morning, breakfast on the lanai, watch the ocean and plan our day!
