Family-friendly 3BR close to everything!
Relax at the end of your day in a townhouse that a former Supreme Court Chief Justice once called home. Three comfy bedrooms give everyone lots of room. A cook’s kitchen and separate dining room, plus a patio, make this a real home away from home!
You won’t find other digs so right-in-the-middle-of-it-all: Stroll to a Metro hub, the National Mall, or the new Nationals baseball stadium.
Just one block south is Washington's marina. From there, it's a close, walk east along the Potomac River to the Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin paddleboats, the Holocaust Museum, the FDR Memorial, the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, and the Washington Monument.
Heading north, it's just 6 blocks to the Smithsonian Air & Space and other museums along the National Mall.
To the southwest are Nationals Park, and the National Defense University. Also, Fort Leslie McNair's grassy (and public!) expanses, where military bands regularly perform on summer evenings.
Just across the Potomac River, due south, are Haines Point's golf course and park.
To get around hassle-free, hop on the subway at L'Enfant Plaza - four blocks away. Or ride the $1 DC Circulator bus - which stops directly in front of your DC home base.
One off-street parking space + reasonable cleaning included. Extra parking space available.

We stayed from July 30 till August 2 in this great house with 6 tall people. Everything is nearby, also a good foodstore. The beds are great, the airco working good, a cozy environment and a good equiped kitchen. Local transportation is very nearby, you don't need a car staying here. We've enjoyed our stay in Washingon DC very much, visiting all the musea and Deborah's house has helped a lot. When ever we decide to come back we'll certainly want to come back !

We're so happy we found this gem -- everything as described and more. This is the most nicely appointed VRBO in which we have stayed in the DC area. The location is as good as it gets -- close to almost everything you will want to do and see! The house is incredibly comfortable, I'd be happy to move in tomorrow! The parking space is a real + as that can be a problematic in DC. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer, but be assured we'll be back! Thank you.

We spent a week in the condo with our 2 children. The space felt like home and was in great shape. Every amenity and extra we could think of, and more, were provided. Unfortunately, the Circulator bus does not come here now, but a new regular bus line still stops right in front and can connect you to everything. The Metrorail station is a little walk but not a problem. We found the prices at the local Safeway to be high, so we would probably have brought more from home if we had known. We will look forward to returning here for our next DC excursion! Thanks!

We stayed at this property last year. We weren't sure what it would be like because pictures can be decieving, but we gave it a try. We were so pleased with the entire experience, we will go back every year and stay here for our event. The house is absolutely gorgeous, the location is perfect! The grocery store is within walking distance and the garden area in the back was great. We grilled out and everything we needed was there. The owners of this property made sure we were comfortable and that we had what we needed upon arrival. I think this is the best kept secret in the D.C. area for the price. The owners have been GREAT to work with in making the transaction easy. Once our friends saw it, they immediately asked if we would be able to get this house again for this year. We were all able to drive, walk, or take the metro only a short distance to get to everything we needed. The Master Suite is beautiful, but so is the rest of the house. We will make our annual trip and will always stay at this fantastic house! Donna B. Columbia, SC

I live in the apartment across the street and needed accommodations for my out-of-town family for a long weekend. The house was perfect for my brothers and their families. The closeness to the mall and museums, easy access to public transportation and the 7th St corridor, the convenience of Safeway and CVS, and the accessibility of the restaurants on the waterfront -- all made this a perfect weekend. The only caveat is that there are 6 or 7 steps into the house and the railings are a bit wobbly. My 85 year old father had some difficulty getting into the house.
Owner response:Hi Neighbor! Glad this worked out for you and your family - but sorry to hear the railing had worked itself loose and gave your Dad trouble. The welder just added supports that make it much better. . . so please come back anytime!

My family stayed at Deborah's house for a week in September '10. This was the perfect location for us. We'd jump on the DC Circulator each morning and ride it up to the Mall for sightseeing. The house is a short walk to a Safeway to grab groceries and all the neighbors were very nice. It was our first time traveling with our infant son, and Deborah's house was perfect - Pack N' Play, baby bath tub and a high chair. We stayed with my parents and sister. My mom was very impressed with how well the kitchen was outfitted, every thing she needed was there! I want to congratulate Deborah on having one of the best rentals I have stayed in. They really have thought of almost everything! We would totally recommended this house to friends and family and would stay there again (I can't wait t go back!)

Wonderful equipped house (cooking in the kitchen was perfect, relaxing on the balcony was great after an exhausting visit to the city), close to National Mall (Bus stop ist across the street and walking would also be possible). Esay to reach via the Highways Everything was as exactely listed above and shown in the photos. Deborah was very friendly and helpful. We have already recommanded the accomodation to others and will certainly stay here again if we want to go to Washington again The only negative thing during our vacation here: we found no time to relax at the nearby riverfront! So plan at least one more night!

We really enjoyed our stay. The residence is everything stated in its' description. It was very clean, convenient to everything, and the owners could not have been more accomodating. I would wholeheartedly recommend this rental to anyone planning to vacation in D.C.
