Great property with very helpful owners. This home has everything you could want or need for a terrific getaway. We especially loved the bathrooms and the gas fireplace was perfect for the cold weather. We just returned January 2009 and were blessed with lots of snow and cold! What a fun time. Highlands is great with numerous shops and delicious restaurants. The hiking is fantastic and snow skiing is within 1 1/2 hr.drive.
Owner response:We have had the most wonderful guest. When we created the home, we wanted it to be very special to all who stay with us. We love the interaction in dealing directly with our guest, answering their questions about favorite hikes, restaurants and seeing photos of their families at our home. THANK YOU ALL!

We had a wonderful time. Perfect weather, great home. We decided to make this an annual trip, and hope to rent your home again. Spent a lot of time in the hot tub, and around the fireplace. Also went hiking on Whiteside Mountain. Your home is really lovely, and the XM radio was a huge plus. We love to cook and listen to music, which is exactly what we did! I didn't realize the home had it, and we used it a lot. No tv was turned on all weekend- perfect! Thanks again, we could not have asked for more.
Owner response:We love being able to recommend great hikes, outdoor activities and wonderful restaurants to our guests and it is even more rewarding to hear such positive responces to their stay. Thank you!!

We recently spendt a long weekend at this property. The listing photos did not even begin to do the place justice. The property was exceptionally well maintained and outfitted with top of the line appliances, antiques, and custom iron work (beds, furniture, chandliers). The owners are extremely friendly and recommended some really good restaurants, including a charming grocery store with a grill! They also are avid hikers and gave us some great suggestions for hikes! A wonderful place to stay in the Highlands. We are definietly going to book again. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay!
Owner response:This is what makes it so special for us!! Wonderful guest!

We have stayed in many different places in Highlands over the last 30 yrs., but this is the best! It is such a great location between Highlands & Cashiers. The house is so beautifully nestled among the trees surrounded by several ponds, perfect for walking after dinner on the deck. All of the bedrooms & baths are gorgeous. We had enough room in the house for our family without getting in each others way. Everyday there is something to do, whether it is shopping in town, taking short walks or going on great hikes. We love sitting on the deck in the afternoons & the fireplace is perfect for a good read in the evening. If you haven't stayed at this house, you are missing out. This will be our vacation home as much as we are able to get away!

We have been going to Highlands for over 30 yrs., but have never stayed in more comfortable & beautiful accomodations! The setting of the house makes you feel as if you are on an adventure with beautiful trees and several ponds surrounding the house. It is so close to Highlands & Cashiers that there is never a problem of nothing to do. The hiking was wonderful. We loved the short hike up Whiteside Mountain! It was just right for us to take a picnic & enjoy the spectacular views! All details of the house have been paid attention to for all conveniences. We love to cook & the kitchen was modern & easy to use. We used the grill every night, ate out on the beautiful deck under the trees, then had our nightcaps in front of the fireplace. The bedrooms are so well done & the bathrooms to die for. Our bathroom was onyx w/ a gorgeous antique vanity! I could go on forever, but just had to say that this house is the BEST! We will be back soon. We have found our getaway in the mountains!

This is really a 5 star quality place. Stone hi-tech fireplace, country club like dining and living areas, huge marble kitchen with all possible amenities, 3 great bedrooms and bathrooms - all new, perfect and spotless. Spent there 5 days in December, totally relaxed in the quiet, tranquil surroundings. Waterfalls, trails, long, pleasant walks, hot jacuzzi on the deck, in the snow ... it was a vacation. Two of us, our son, 22, plus two parents and an uncle from Europe. All enchanted with everyting. 2 hrs 15 min easy drive door to door. We'll be back. Owner very nice and attentive, always one phone call away. Highly recommended.
Owner response:These wonderful guests and their parents spent their second Christmas with us. It is delightful to get to know guests as they come back to stay with us. Thank you!!
