We are a family of 5 (3 children 2,6, and 9)- and there was plenty of room for all of us! The house is an updated farmhouse, was well maintained, the kitchen cozy and well stocked, we appreciated the puzzles, games, and baseketball hoop. We roasted marshmallows in the firepit and harvested fresh veggies (beets, leeks, tomatoes, string beans, squash, broccoli, etc) from the garden for dinner. Plus the apple trees. The washer and dryer were great too. There were hundreds of children's and family friendly dvds which was amazing to borrow for hour long drives to the parks. Springdale on the other side of Zion (approx 1 hour drive) is more of a touristy town with restaurants, etc. We ate there afternoons after hiking in the park. This house is quiet, out of the touristy hustle and bustle, but accessible to anything you need. Its right off of the highway. There was a pack and play as well as a co-sleeper and lots of extra towels and linens. Beds were super comfy. Betty and Jeremy were great to work with. The one downside was that my son was looking forward to fishing on the pond---I think Jeremy forgot to bring the poles around even after we asked...but the canoes are there and the kids loved paddling, even if they couldn't fish. Also note: there is no dishwasher, minor issue. All in all we would definitely recommend this property, it is a great value, better than any hotel hands down and it really made our vacation amazing.

We had two woderful days at The Homeplace. We stayed there for two nights on short notice as we made a mistake in booking a place to stay while visiting the Bryce Canyon. After coming into the house we were really happy that the other reservation did not work because we felt at home immediately. Everything needed was there. We loved the history of the house conveyed by the photos and pictures of the family. On the front porch or in the back yard we always found a shady place to drink a cup of coffee and we pictured the many children playing in the garden or at the fish pond. If we had known the place beforehand we would have planned a much longer stay just to relax, enjoy the surroundings.

Our group had a great time staying here. It was clean, nicely decorated, quiet, had a great atmosphere, and a lot to keep us entertained. The beds were incredibly comfortable. I liked that there was a lot of seating inside and out. The kitchen had everything you would need, so we didn't have to pack much. There were even games to play! Everyone enjoyed the pond. The fishing was good and the canoe and paddle boat were a blast. I loved the location. It is right in the middle of so many fun places. You can go any direction and be within 30 minutes-hour of Zion, Bryce Canyon, Duck Creek, and other fun locations. There is a gas station and a grocery store very close. I love that there was a washing machine and dryer. We had some fresh peppers from the garden with our breakfast. I had a hard time getting my group to leave the house to go to other places. It was so comfortable and felt like home. Thank you for a great stay!

This lovely home provided much needed family time as we enjoyed fishing in the lake, and finding a squash in the garden that we prepared with dinner and played board games together in the evening. We visited the gorgeous Bryce and Zion parks and were astounded at the sheer beauty of Utah and the millions of incredible viewable stars above at night. Thank you truly for this wonderful stay in your lovely home.

We loved staying at The Homeplace. Our group consisted of two families (4 adults and 5 children). The house was clean, and we all slept comfortably with plenty of room. It was fun to cook in the country kitchen and pick apples from the trees. We had a little bit of trouble getting used to the grocery store being so far away but we found most of what we needed at the little market in town. The kids LOVED the pond. They woke up early and fished before our day trips to the National Parks and then continued fishing when we got home until dark. We caught and released at least 100 small trout and some larger bass. They played basketball, roasted marshmallows, pet the neighbor's horse, and played with the neighbor's dog. All in all, it was a great trip. Thank you for sharing your home with us ?

Our family of 9 stayed at the property for 2 weeks. This was our first time seeing southern Utah. The house is just as it shows in the pictures and big enough so we did not feel cramped. The kids had a good time playing basketball or going fishing. The kitchen is well stocked and doing the dishes manually was fun for a change. The washer and dryer came in very handy. A nice selection of movies and a guide to the walking trails is available. Local Restaurants are plentiful with a variety of good food. The Bistro in Glendale and the pies at the Thunderbird in Mount Carmel Junction were our local favorites. We recommend Terry's Food and Drug for local grocery shopping which is located 3 miles south on 89. Most tourist attractions are a 1hr drive away which can become a bit cumbersome on a daily basis. Our grandkids recommend the Zip-Line which is 2 miles up the road and a lot of fun. Overall it is such a beautiful area that we decided to come back in the future and explore some more.

Our stay at The Homplace could not have been more enjoyable! The house truly felt like our home from the moment we arrived. It was very clean, well furnished, and included lots of comfortable touches such as extra pillows and blankets. The kitchen was well stocked, also with many extras. Having the washer and dryer was another plus as it cut down on the amount of clothing we needed to pack. The house is ideally located for those who wish to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Zion, Red Canyon and Bryce parks. It made an excellent "base camp" from which to start each day. We could have breakfast there, pack our lunches and set out for the day. It is located near several small grocery stores, so we could shop for dinner on our way home. For those who are interested in birdwatching and those who plan to birdwatch on a trip West, The Homeplace is also ideal. The house is situated near a pond, pasture fields, fruit trees and many aspens. This environment makes for an excellent home for birds as well. There were a great number of swallows, robins, doves and finches as well as "Western" species of common birds such as red-shafted Flickers, gold finches and humming birds. As an Eastern birder, it was great fun to sit on the porches of The Homeplace and compare species, songs, nests and diets. There are three hummimgbird feeders hanging along the back porch and after mixing up sugar water, there were hummers feeding within 30 minutes! The Homplace is the perfect place to get a feel for Utah's backyard birds. The Chamberlain family could not have been nicer to work with. They responded quickly to phone calls, emails and were very helpful in answering questions had about our stay. The house was also stocked with binders of information they have put together about places of local interest, resturant suggestions, hiking trail information and information on the house itself. I would highly recommend The Homeplace for those wishing to have a cozy gathering place for family meals and family time while on vacation, those looking for a quiet, tranquil place to begin and end busy sight seeing days. Visit Utah, and go home to The Homeplace, it will feel like your home too!

We arrived for our family reunion. The home is perfect for at most 8 people , 6 of whom must share the VERY comfortable beds. One thing needs to be up front: cell service is erratic. Don't depend on it. BUY A PHONE CARD to use the land line and tell your important callers the #. ............The home is clean , neat and better than any hotel. The fully stocked kitchen really helped, esp we brought our own food. Recommendation? Definitely.

About the owner: We are thrilled to own this home Jeremy himself lived in as a small child. His father Roger also grew up in the home, one of eight children of Cornell and Sylvia Chamberlain. It has been a journey to renovate the home, a fond process of discovery. It is indeed a special place to call home. This 'Homeplace' has brought such over-flowing joy to so many that we love and we are delighted to share that joy with you.

Why the Owner Chose Bryce Canyon National Park:
The location is one of the most beautiful on earth! The charm associated with a home that is over a hundred years old is incredible. The two of these features combined made the purchase of this home irresistable.
