  What a beautiful home. We spent Thanksgiving at the beach house and had a wonderful time. The house was everything pictured and MORE. Every room had such a welcome feeling. It was very apparent the owner had spared no expense to see that her guests felt at home.We had a beautiful view of the ocean and watched dolphins at play every day. Thank you Cayce for a wonderful vacation. You were so helpful in answering any questions we had. We have already reserved the beach house for Thanksgiving 2013. We look forward to going back every year possible.

  This was our 4th year staying at Escape Hatch and I can't rave about it enough. The location is awesome ... just steps off the deck onto the sand. The beach is so nice with fun waves to play in and just enough people in the surrounding houses to have playmates for the kids without ever feeling crowded. The house is perfect, comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for an easy, relaxing week - even a slow cooker! The owner is super easy to deal with and very responsive. We have already locked in our visit for next year!

  We had a wonderful week at this house including a wedding! It was small and perfect and I think the house had a lot to do with my wedding turning out perfect!!! The house does look exactly like the photos, everything was clean. There was a slight problem with the AC but the owner fixed it promptly and since the house is right on the water, we didn't even notice for awhile! My favorite part about the house is that it is perfectly between Surf City and Topsail Beach which has restaurants, stores, and some attractions but by the house there is no public beach access so the beach is not overcrowded, like the good old days!! I would recommend this house very highly and we had such a great time we are renting again next year for our anniversary!!!!!!

  Great house, great views from every room, great location, great beach!!!! We were looking for peace and quiet and that is what we found. House is decorated very nice and is updated and clean. This is the first time we have gone thru VRBO and will do it again. We would definitely use this house again and recommend it to others! Thank you for opening your home .

  This is a top notch home! It is meticulously maintained and has everything you will need for a wonderful vacation. The owners have thoughtfully planned every detail to make your stay relaxing and carefree. You literally walk down the front steps and the ocean is at your feet. The double decks were great spots for reading or enjoying a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine. We enjoyed many local restaurants during our stay and you do not need to leave the island to get to a grocery store. It was the perfect spot to unwind. This was one of the most relaxing vacations our family has had in years and I would highly recommend staying at Escape Hatch!

  I just wanted to send you a Thank you for sharing your beautiful home . The house was very nice and furnished with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The views were breathtaking from the decks. So many memories made. Our girls and my nieces thought they would tell us that everyday was Monday in hopes we would "forget" when Thursday came around so we could stay longer.( Even my hubby and dad , who were the ones who only wanted to stay the 4 days, were wishing we had booked the entire week. :) ) Could not of asked for a better home or location. Thanks Again!! We can't wait to come back again !

  We have stayed at Escape Hatch 3 times now, and I am finally getting around to posting a review. We absolutely love the house and the location ( great stretch of beach with large private homes). Views are fantastic. The house is well stocked and extremely comfortable. 3 of the bedrooms have oceanfront views. The owner has always been very gracious and easy to work with. One huge plus is that even at high tide you can still sit on the beach. We have stayed at other places where you can't do that. We will definitely return here for our beach vacations, hopefully every year.

  We have been staying at Escape Hatch for two weeks each summer since 2005 ... we absolutely love this house. It's clean, very nicely decorated and in a great place on the island.
