Our home is a beautiful, Ralph Lauren, country style, single story with separate guest house located in the hills of West Malibu overlooking Zuma Beach and Broad Beach. It is about a ten minute walk to the beach which is a few blocks away and/or a 2 minute drive with plenty of free parking available on Pacific Coast Highway and/or plenty of additional fee parking in the county beach lot. There is a small center which offers all of the basics without having to leave the area such as a full service grocery store, a postal service store, a hardware store and a Starbucks! You will definitely see a celebrity or two there during your stay. We are less than a fifteen minute drive south to the central area of Malibu which offers shopping, cinemas, restaurants, etc. This stunning area offers a summer wonderland for families or singles alike. There is, of course, the beach. Both a public beach, Zuma Beach, and a private beach with public access, Broad Beach, are right around the corner. Zuma Beach, for those with young ones or teens, offers a fabulous beach surf camp which teaches water safety skills, surfing, etc. The surf camp is available by the season, the week or the day. On the other side of our home lies the Santa Monica Mountains. The hiking and biking are phenomenal and just steps away. While a car is certainly necessary for sightseeing and visiting the LA/Santa Barbara area, none is really needed for the beach/mountain experience. We have ocean kayaks (2) available for use.
Our home is magical, if I do say so, and has never been rented previously. We are heading to the Rockies for the summer so thought we would share it's magic. There is a pool with Jacuzzi and a gas fire pit for enjoying the beautiful outdoor Malibu evenings. This is not Florida so don't expect hot, steamy evenings. Malibu enjoys a very temperate, Mediterranean type climate most of the year.
By the way, there hasn't been a summer I know of yet that a barge, rented out by a celebrity or two, doesn't show up on Zuma or Broad Beach for a Fourth of July extravaganza....yes, magical.
