The Walden House Bed and Breakfast in Newport Washington. We live next door to the Bed and Breakfast which makes it ideal for a vacation rental. We are family friendly establishment. A great place for a relaxing family vacation, reunions, weddings, business gatherings or other group meetings. Because we are a bed and breakfast we do not keep our vrbo calender current. The Kitchen is large and nicely equipped with dishwasher, range top, double ovens, microwave oven, large refrigerator with ice and water, coffee maker, waffle irons, toaster, pots and pans, and plenty of dishes glasses and utensils for a very large group.
There is seating for 10 in the kitchen dining area, Plus seating for six more in the dining room.
The sun deck is through the kichen sliding glass door and has additional seating for meals. Many people like the more outdoor atmosphere of eating on the sun deck.
The bedrooms are decorated with individual themes. All bedrooms have private bathrooms except the downstairs suite which has 2 large bedrooms that share a bathroom and private living room. Each room also has its own TV, microwave and small refrigerator, additionally four of our luxury suites have jetted/heated tubs. We have put very high quality beds in each room and have recieved numerous comments from guests on how well they slept. There are 5 king sized beds and 4 queen sized, plus one queen hide-a-bed and one single sized fouton. We have a large parking area that can accommodate RV's and boat trailers etc. There is a sun porch off the back of the house over looking the huge back yard, patios, play yard and hot tub.
Over 6 miles of National Forest hiking trails just 1 block from the house. The Pend Oreille River boat launch is just 3/4 mile. Albeni Cove swim area and boat launch just 3 miles away is above the dam and you can boat all the way to Sandpoint Idaho and Pend Oreille Lake.
Newport is nestled in the picturesque North East Mountains of Washington State and the Idaho Panhandle. It sits on the Washington Idaho border, centrally located for year round fun and adventure in the Pacific Northwest. Newport has its own movie theater, bowling alley, fitness center with racquetball courts, old fashioned Soda fountain/deli, several great restaurants, as well as gift and antique shops
Close by are numerous mountain lakes including Priest Lake. Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park are just 32 highway miles away. And for winter fun you can access Mount Spokane, Schweitzer Mountain, and 49 Degrees North mountain ski resort(s) from The Walden House. We are central to all three and about an hour away from each.
